The Empty Crusade (Horus Heresy)

[X][Luna] Subjection
[X][Luna] Few Concessions
[X][Mars] Annihilation
[x][Mars] Conquest

We know of the mechanicus end up on cannon and they betrayed the imperium several times just trought the great crusade alone and are the cause of more than half the problems of 40k.
The problem is not their religion is the organization.
And major concessions would lead to a worse mars treatry than cannon and that one was a already bad enough.
Bisband them as an organization is the best thing for us long term.

This will cost us. But in the long run, I think, it will be worth it.

Maybe in time? I mean the last instance of God birth was kind of disruptive. My moneys on spirits that were formerly subservient Daemons pulling up their pants and duking it out over the former domains of their masters, which should keep them mostly off our back.

Edit: For example, Skarbrand is kind of up there on the Khornate list of shit kickers, I fully expect him to immediately start duking it out with Ka'Banda over who gets to sit on Warps biggest Highchair.

I would assume that since the gods are dead, most Daemons are too, since most are literally just pieces of said gods. Though since daemon princes are ascended mortals, they might still be around. I was more meaning small gods might start forming now that the chaos gods are all gone.

Might be wrong though

...Fuck, that assumption has some very bad, no good, terrible consequences. Be'lakor is going to really fuck us up if that's what's going on.

speaking of that joke wonder if he will descend back to being a mortal or rise to god hood since remember the humans in tau space created a greater good god.
Speaking of erebus and korr might create new versions of the gods through their beliefs

If they did, they would probably be lesser gods. I assume that many different religions might start creating new gods with their faith, though I doubt any will come anywhere close to the level of the chaos gods, or even the other canon divinities. I'm pretty sure the only big gods right now are Isha, Cegorach, and Gork&Mork.

Edit. Actually, the gods of Fenris might start manifesting now that the chaos gods aren't around to prevent this.

Well if you think we've got the time to be held up in warring with a peer power right off the gate then sure. But unfortunately, we've got shit to do and brothers to rediscover, making it frankly nonviable imo.

So since the chaos gods are dead do you guys think a bunch of new gods will emerge?
This is false, only two of the four are dead, the two being Khorne and Tzeentch

So Chaos exists, but is SEVERELY weakened doubt they will reach the heights that the worse case scenario!40k times will reach

Doubt its gonne be relevent for a long time, the last time it happened it took millions times several to happen

Daemon princes are just daemons that was originally someone from the material realm, so if Chaos gods exist no more then the daemon princes would lose their power and become what they were before the ascension to daemon hood, doubt that they would pose any significant threat aside from the edge cases

hmm, now i am curios on the fate of Belekor

Umm.... was it ever stated that only two of the four died? I though it was implied that Emps managed to kill all four at the expense of his own life.

The opening post says that Khorne and T'zeentch have died but also states that they've been scattered. I'm guessing they aren't completely dead, but that their greater essences have been broken into pieces--perhaps similar to what Slaanesh did to Khaine.

Those things had not made off easily, two of their kin slain in so much as their kind could be said to die. The red and blue things, names he would not even think lest it give them a speck of power to return from their own scattering.

They may have also returned to their early forms when they hadn't fully achieved sentience and were more like feral, primordial embodiments of various emotions.

You might still have some Blood Thirsters or Lords of Change hiding out somewhere in the Warp, but most Daemons have probably been destroyed or severely weakened.

In canon, Mars was an ally of the Imperium and quasi independent. Here it won't be the case.

Bisband them as an organization is the best thing for us long term.
Is that feasible without a costly war and loosing much of their knowledge?
