Well we have 9 persuasion die + for being a cultivator vs a mortal?

One of the farms out there, belonging to a mortal named Ju An, has Golden Honeyberries growing on its land. I
Wait, is the tinker trespassing to pick those berries?

If that's the case, we can just strait up inform him that Hua Jin has the rights to pick the berries. Just be polite and let the guy continue to pick afterwards.

[X] Talk and trade? This will require a Persuasion roll. Hua Yin will lose 1 success from the cultivation class action and 1 die from the cultivation action results if he chooses this option. He missed two whole days of class and cultivation after all.

Maybe he snuck past or distracted the rabbits? I imagine if he fought them they wouldn't still be in the area to fight us.
Like I said, if he snuck here specifically, then he likely knows how much more valuable the berries are than the rabbits.

Also I got the impression that the rabbits can be handled by a careful non-cultivator as long as there aren't too many of them.

Yeah, I'm getting the impression this dude is poaching, I'm not really inclined to trade with him in that case.

Pity using the glass to see if he has qi would take so much juice.

Anyway this job feels sort of like a breach of the informal rules of how much can be demanded by different levels of favors Yin was thinking about earlier. I hope if we continue that means we at least get some sort of additional pay.

@warumono, I think you added up Yin's attack and dodge dice incorrectly, should be 13 and 7 total respectively. Didn't really matter here though.

You might think about something like athletics rolls to contest opponents automatically getting their full outnumbering bonus though, as it's pretty powerful as is.

[X] Demand. Hua Yin will pull rank. If that doesn't work, he will just take enough berries to fill his bag.

The dude is a thief, and we're literally a disciple right in the operating territory of our sect. Doesn't feel like much reason to negotiate besides hidden master metagaming, which I'm not really inclined to do.

-[X] Politely inform the tinkerer that you are here to gather berries the behest of an Inner Disicple who has an agreement with the farmer Ju An who owns this land. As harvesting the berries is too dangerous for the farmers, you do not see an issue with the tinkerer taking some for himself. However as the tinkerer is infact poaching, Hua Yin shall fill his bag first.

This is fair enough actually yeah, we're not here to enforce the Ju's property claims, just fill up our bag. So long as he's reasonable and lets us fill up and be on our way he'll have actually saved us some time. So letting him have whatever is left is not really an issue for us.

It also makes it clear we have direct backing on top of the general protection of the sect in the remote case he's more than he appears.

This quest is much livelier than it first appears. Facing Tianlang, the stolen notes, fighting dungeon rats and getting Jianshu, the wine mission, the duel, and now this berry fetch. Hua Yin is totally a xianxia MC!:lol::lol:

I'm content with this mission. I find it funny and Hua Yin got to practice combat and his two qi techniques.

Still, we should squeeze the Glass as much as we can after it has cost so much. Let's use it on Jianshu, on Feng, on ourselves while we're cultivating, on the forest as we explore, and even on the duel. Watching those talismans Ling Daiyu intends to bring as they get used could be very interesting.

[X] Give up already.

It's not Hua Yin's fault that there was a thief and it's not reasonable to expect him to fight an unknown for some berries. Hua Yin has nothing to trade, and we're not gonna make the same mistake as Song Chyou's and bit more than we can chew.

Holy shit. Thank god for the Levin Step or we'd be shit out of luck against those rabbits.

Hell, it was hard to keep up in general even with while not needing to waste the entire night.
I think both words are valid, just not together.
Hua Yin felt almost felt restless.
Repetition.
Us lolwly farmers can't really handle them.
"Lowly".
Many apologises. This is as far as this one can go honored disciple.
"Apologies", and missing comma.
Return to the farm cousin,
Missing comma.

Get some successes for persuasion so we can convince tianlang to have his children chase us.

@warumono shouldnt we have gotten some earth defying path successes there? We used it for the whole day after all. Thats basically training it

Not Yin's job to be an enforcer, and he already spent time and Qi with this favour. I don't want to trade with a potential thief, but I don't want Yin to pull rank either.

So, compromise!
