Hmm, any ideas what the Gold actually does? It seems somewhat reacting to Taylor's wants and needs, perhaps a bit violently. If disintegration of things she hates is any indication. But it probably could be told about any colour?

Right, so we got three for leaving and hiding, and three for talking to mom and cleaning up.

So let's do a roll.

[1] Talk to mom
[2] Just leave

4 - Sometimes Loneliness Is Needed New
[X] Leave and hide. Find a place to think alone and undisturbed.

You... You gotta go. You need to leave. You cant be here right now.

You turn away from the locker that was once your tomb, and simply start to walk. You walk through the halls of the school to the front door, and because the lock was broken and never fixed, you just walk right out of the school. You walk down to the sidewalk, you walk down the street, and you continue to walk towards wherever your feet may take you. You have no true destination in mind, just somewhere that's not where you were before.

You mindlessly wander for about twenty minutes, no real thoughts besides putting one foot in front of the other. The winter cold doesn't bother you, for the fire in your chest burns hotter than the chill freezes. And it isn't until you once more catch sight of the school that you realize you've just gone in a big circle.

So you turn around once more and actually set a destination in your mind this time.

The Boat Graveyard. You know where it is, and its isolated enough that no one is likely to bother you.

It also a ways away. And its currently night. In Brockton Bay.

The fire in your chest thrums.

You look around you, there doesn't seem to be anyone you can see. You look down the street your traveling, there's still a bit of road left.

You walk out into the middle of the road and look around nervously. You lightly hop up and down on one foot than the other.

You reach for the fire in your chest.

You take a Step.

With a loud crack! And a flash of golden light, you're launched down the street at incredible speeds.

Fast. Too fast, actually. You're going to hit the buildings before you stop.

So, you shift your weight, and twist your hips just so. Your feet make impact with the ground, and you dig furrows in the road as you rapidly slow.

When you come to a stop, you look back at where you were. Over a thousand feet covered in under a second, and with an incredibly quick reaction time to be able to slow down when you did.

You were never taught how to do something like that, yet you did it all as if by reflex.

You let out a shaky breath. You can think about all of this later, when you get to the Boat Graveyard.

You turn back around and look up at the buildings you now stand in front of. You reach for the fire in your chest again, and you Jump.

You easily clear the rooftops. In fact you have to reach for the fire again to slow yourself down in midair. You twist in the air until you're perpendicular to the rooftops, facing downwards. You kick out, and with another flash of golden light your suddenly shooting down towards the buildings. You realign yourself so your feet are once again facing the ground and reinforce your legs. As you land you spread your Gold to include the area of the rooftop you are landing on so it doesn't break. You stand up with a confident smirk on your face. Until its shattered seconds latter by thinking about what just happened.

What the hell? How did you know how to do any of that?

You shake your head. Not the time. Get to the Graveyard, then think.

You take off, running across rooftops in leaps and bounds. Sometimes you reach for your fire while still in the air, and are able to maneuver yourself much more easily. Each time you do, as you move you are followed by trails of golden light, which disappear seconds afterwards. Its amazing, the feeling of soaring through the air. It feels utterly freeing. You can understand why flight is one of the most sought after superpowers.

You reach the Graveyard easily, and in minutes. The great steel hulks loom out of the water of the bay. Rusting monuments to what was and what could have been. You take a running start off of a warehouse and leap. Soaring through the air to touch down on one of the hulks decks with a small slide. You're panting and breathing heavily, but you're not wheezing like you should have been. Your run across the city only tired you out, it didn't exhaust you.

You walk your way across the ships deck and up the outside stairs to the bridge. When you reach the top, you make a small jump and land on top of the bridge. You sit on its edge, legs crossed, gazing out across the waters of the bay.

You realize something else, its night out and there are no lights around, you should have been practically blind, yet you can see nearly perfectly. You look within and notice that a small bit of your fire, of your Gold, burns behind your eyes. You decided to leave it, you like seeing what your doing, and the night over the bay looks nice from where you are.

But now that you're here, you have time. Time to think, to question, to ponder.

What the hell happened to you? You gained superpowers obviously, but what the hell was that weird vision? A dream? A hallucination? Was it real, did it actually happen?

Is this what happens to everyone who gains superpowers? You don't think so, no ones ever mentioned something even remotely resembling what you saw. But why would they? Maybe someone else experienced what you did and just didn't want to seem crazy?

And what powers did you even get? What is this fire in your chest? This fire that feels so warm. And glows a brilliant, resplendent, Gold. What can you do with it? What will you do with it, do you even want to be a superhero?

Seemingly in response to your many questions, the fire in your chest burns hotter than ever before. Something is calling you. The fire in your chest beats in rhythm to your heart. Telling you to listen to it, to dive deep into its golden flame and heat and hear what it has to say.

Do you answer?

[] Yes, answer the call, learn what it has to tell you
[] No, not yet, you're not ready, you need more time to think

5 - What Power You Do Wield New
[X] Yes, answer the call, learn what it has to tell you

You sit, you wait, and you breath.

The fire in your chest pulses. Each breath in fanning the flames, and each breath out deepening its golden Color. You lose yourself in its radiant luster, letting the Gold consume your worries, your fears, your mind.

Do you breath with the fire, or does the fire breath with you? Is its golden shine a reflection of your being, or are you being a mere shadow of the Gold within?

It matters not, for you are both one, and in one are both. The Gold is you and you are Gold. Let none doubt your brilliance, for Gold is your light, and Gold is your being. To separate one from the other is to divide a whole, and to prefer one over the other is to be lesser than you are.

And as you are Gold, and Gold are you, you know what the other knowns. For you are not two minds, but one and the same.

What it tells you is not new, for you knew this already. Yet you must hear it again, for it to become real.

The Gold speaks, and you listen.
-- -- --

Ok, so, powers explanation time!

Imagine that this has just all been mind beamed into Taylor's brain, and she just understands it now ok? Just with less hard numbers and more gut feelings.

Let me start off with the fact that you all got what is basically almost the most overpowered build possible.

Not only with your Color choice, but also because of who answered when you called.

All the other Colors clearly pointed out what you would be able to do if you got them. Manipulation, stealth, shadowmancy, blood stuff, etc.

Gold however, is different from other Colors.

Gold is the color of strength. Not strength as in how strong you are, but a more metaphorical and metaphysical strength. Gold gives you strength to do whatever you want, whatever your dreams are, you can complete them. This is shown in your Purpose.

A Gold with the purpose of Inventing, would be the world's ultimate tinker. They could build anything they set their mind to. They could also do other things that are related to invention.

For instance, they could Invent the ultimate spaceship, as one might expect. Or, they could Invent an entire new system of magic for the world to use. They could Invent an entire new sentient species if they wanted to.

They could Invent new laws of reality for the world to follow.

The power and meaning of a Purpose can be stretched very far.

Your Purpose of Betterment can also be stretched incredibly far. So far you've just got the basic package, but as you continue you're going to get access to shit that'll make Scion crap his pants.

And with that, I'm going to move onto how your powers will actually work in this quest.

Your power, your Color, is drawn from a realm called the Eltswhere. It is a place of imagination and chaos, order and rules, dreams and nightmares.

If you want to think of it as basically a kinder version of the warp, you wouldn't be too far off. But don't take the comparison too far, because there are differences.

The power of the Eltswhere is mainly expressed in Colors, and there are many Colors within the Eltswhere. So many that if I wanted to get into an explanation about them and how they work it would spin off into a whole other tangent, so we're just going to be sticking to Gold for now, which I already explained.

How you personally will be using your powers is rather simple. You have two main stats, Saturation, and Imbuement.

Saturation is how flooded your body is with your Color, and the power of the Eltswhere. As you are, in fact, a real person, taking energy from a realm best described as imaginary and putting it into your body can have some consequences. It's unlikely to be anything that will kill you, but if you push too hard and oversaturate yourself, be prepared for problems.

Saturation is tracked as a number from 0 to 100. You gain Saturation by using your Color in any way, and you can only lose Saturation by resting and not using your Color. Currently at least.

Imbuement is basically how well your body can handle your Color and the power of the Eltswhere. More Imbuement means less Saturation gain, and it also means you can do more cool stuff with your Color.

Your current Imbuement is just level 1, and at that level you just have basic enhancements. Stuff like super speed, strength, reflex, and all that lovely stuff. But when you increase Imbuement, you increase your power, and the things you can do with it start to get fun.

There is another stat that you will have to keep track of that isn't directly related to you, but is instead related to the Eltswhere.

Before you Called Out, the Eltswhere was not connected to your world, and you calling out forced a connection to appear. This is not a good thing. Normally when worlds are connected to the Eltswhere, it can usually take anywhere from months, years, decades, or perhaps even centuries for a stable connection to form. You forced one in the span of a couple seconds, this is going to have consequences.

The connection your world has to the Eltswhere is measured as so.

Eltswhere connection:
Stable
Chipped
Cracked
Ripped
Torn
Shattered

The way the connection will work is that it is currently Stable, but the connection can be widened when it is disturbed, or when massive amounts of power are drawn from one side to the other.

Basically anytime you draw your Color to perform powerful or big moves, you might draw just a bit too much and widen the connection. Anytime you Oversaturate yourself, the excess power you're putting off needs somewhere to go, so it follows back down the connection, widening it a bit.

Once again, right now your connection is currently sitting at Stable, and as such everything is normal. But the wider it gets, the more things might happen.

Someone else might gain a Color, an area of land might be sucked into the Eltswhere, people might start to have visions of things great and terrible.

Creatures might cross over.

Let me put a quote in here so you might understand what this could mean.

"This is a place of dreams, a realm of imagination and unreality. And believe me, horror is very much a part of human imagination. So despite how it looks on the surface, all coexistence like and somewhat recognizable. If you go deeper, you will be very quickly absolved of that fallacy."

So if you don't want things to happen, it would be a rather good idea to mind the connection stability.

Oh, and as a final warning, don't get the stability to Shattered. You do not want a completely free, completely open connection to the Eltswhere. The term "Complete Space-Time Unraveling" comes to mind as what might happen. If you're lucky.

And to finish this all off, a final, secret stat, that you gained by sheer luck due to who you called out to.

Let me just put down the table I had for Calling Out to try and help explain what you did.

Commons - 1-5
The High Peaks - 6-9
The Dipping Valleys - 10-12
The Lower Dredges - 13-15
The Abyssal Deeps - 16-17
The True Colors - 18-19
The Elders Eldritch - 20

You lot called out to the fucking Elders Eldritch. I believe you can put together what they are just from the name alone.

The one you specifically called out to, the one of GOLD, is known as [Gilded Height, The Golden Fist, The One True Dream, Aspiration, Sun In Gold] or at least those are some of his names.

As you called out to him, and he answered, you are now a "Favored Daughter", and this comes with perks. I'm not going to list them, I'm not going to tell you them, but know that you have the eye of a Deity upon you. That you are Favored. And that because of that, sometimes, divine intervention is something that is not unlikely.

As a final closing note, I'm going to be reposting this as an info post, so expect that shortly.
-- -- --

You did not awaken suddenly. You did shoot to your feet in a panic. You did not flail around in confusion. You simply let out a deep breath, as if in contentment, and slowly opened your eyes.

The sun shone in front of you above the water of the Bay, having just recently risen. You stretch your arms above you, and stand to stretch your legs as well. The sun shines down on you, warm on this cold winter day. But its far away light couldn't hope to match the warmth of the fire, the Gold, burning in your chest.

You know things now, you know many things. You know what this power you wield is, what it can do. You know what you may be capable of in the future, you know the dangers that may come with your power, and the problems using your power could cause.

You know so much now, that you didn't know before. It's frightening, it's exhilarating. It's both and more. An yet you cant help but smirk into the sunlight, thinking of all the things you'll be able to accomplish.

Because you know your plans for the future, you know what you're going to be doing. You're going to use this power you've been gifted to make this world Better. You're going to bring this world hope, and you're going to drag it kicking and screaming into the light if that's what it takes. You're going to help, or you're going to die trying.

Hopefully not, but the line sounded cool so it needed to be said.

You turn away from the sun, and start to make your way down the rusting boat you had been sitting on. You try to use your Color as little as possible, no need to draw attention to yourself yet.

In just five minutes you're back on the beach and making your way home. Clothes clean due to your Color, despite the hell you and they had gone through yesterday. And as you walk, you can't help but feel like you're forgetting something.

You're nearly halfway home by the time you finally remember.

Dad. Shit. What the hell are you going to tell him?

Some extra "fun" little facts to know:

- Gold users gain an inherent sense of confidence in themselves and their actions. Anything you do from now on, you are going to put as much effort and pizzazz into as you can. Embarrassment? What's that?

- The power that you channel through you comes from the Eltswhere, and the Eltswhere is basically the complete opposite of your current reality. The effect of this fact is that whenever you channel your Color to defend yourself, by making a shield, reinforcing your body, covering yourself in armor, etc. Anytime you do something like that, nothing will be able to get through. They can lower the power of the shield, or make you have to redirect more Color to keep it going, but absolutely nothing is going to break though.

The problem with this is that your defense (at your current Imbuement anyway) has to be a conscious or semi-conscious thing. So a sneaky sniper would still be able to kill you.

Basically you have an indestructible shield. But that shield is tied to a battery source, and that battery source has to consciously be turned on whenever you want to use it.

I am not sure what to do. So Taylor also will not have a plan! :V

I'm trying to figure out which color will make the Simurgh the worst blue, pink or gold.
Funny thing about that, just having a pure Color is not how Colors normally work. You lot just have a very skewed perspective on Colors because you have a very powerful one, and the more powerful a Color is the more pure named and streamlined it gets.

I'll probably put out an info post on it sometime soon.

If it's betterment, Taylor might want to set some goals to better herself. I want to set something like, easy, medium, hard difficulty choices.

[X] Plan Goals
-[X] Clean yourself up. You will feel better afterwards.
-[X] Make the effort to talk to Dad. You may pile him with cooking or snacks or whatever stuff that Dad would like.
-[X] Have a conversation with Dad about your options of leaving Winslow. You don't have to tell him the reason, but be firm about your choice.

I am somewhat disappointed by basic standard always in worm fanfiction vote winning, like my vote isn't that different, but it at least gives Danny the reason why we want to leave school, which he will ask anyway
