Introduction

296 AL

Gondor, the Eighth Kingdom, home to the citadel Minas Tirith, the citadel of the Dunedain kings of old, capital of a broken people and broken men. The line of Isildur and Elendil all but spent.

A Thousand Years ago, the Men of the west lived for centuries, stood above men like kings in even the lowest of stations and were united in good government and rule, abley able to navigate the challenges and political intrigue of the world while maintaining a simple honest existence.

The centuries following the Dragon's conquest nearly destroyed them. The near Two centuries of rule and the many challenges it wrought had led to conflict after conflict.

The Iron Throne, for all its stability and grandeur, had been nothing but a blight to the Lands of the Dunedain people. Every Famain, Sickness and plug seemed to target them with greater and greater intensity than the rest of the continent, each time ending more and more of their livelihood and people.

Each time the Sons of Numenor seemed to make progress, none was made, Now we are here with the Last Son of the Dunedain Kings Aragorn lies waiting for the world to end his life and free him of the Curse of this world.

Aragorn II Telcontar of the House of Elendil our hero everyone, the 18 year old High Chieftain of Gondor, the most hated (And most desirable bachelor) in Westeros, currently a orphan ruler with a limited support network and hated by most of Westeros for things he was never apart of.

What are you doing:
(Choose 1)

[]Drinking in Bree: Trying to avoid going to court and dealing with Denethor.

[]Preparing to go to Barrowton: To work out the trade deal involving the navy you loaned to the other houses. Hopefully they will pay what is owed.

[]Going Fishing: You enjoy the sea and fishing, one of the few things you enjoy left in this world.

AN: Hello this is an attempt to make a GOT/ASOIAF crossover with LOTR, please take care to judge gentally, I know about both to an able degree, but some things have changed to fit the new timeline. Also I am going to enjoy this. Plus I work better with established settings for now.

Beginnings and the Pain of Now
Beginnings and the Pain of Now

Strider

You looked at the Lady Dustin and then the Finance report. In your short life, you had expected such bullshit, nothing went well if you were from Gondor.

It was Denethor's idea to use this as a way to finance the rebuilding of the nation's infrastructure and no one wanted to trust Littlefinger's way of finance, where he got said capital or even bother paying it at the interest rate Baelish was asking for.

A 9% interest rate for the largest loan we've ever seen...it was too good to be true. What Baelish was asking him to do was sell his kingdom for tainted fools gold.

It was the first time Denethor smiled at any of your decisions you've made since taking official power, you've also forbid Petyr Baelish from ever returning to your lands.

However that triumph was quickly struck down by the realization of this expense report. Barrowton, Flint's Finger, Sea Dragon Point and Stoney Shores and even Bear Island had refused to pay what was owed.

You gritted your teeth. "Explain this injustice...NOW!!!" Your voice, despite your fears, anxiety and general lack of confidence in your own abilities, boomed like thunder as you slammed the document on the table.

The order echoed into the hall as Lady Dustin sat unimpressed at your display of authority. "Lord Elendil, the contract clearly stated that the Fleet and its assets can be moved to other houses with a port, as long as provision and coin are provided to the men who are currently serving."

She continued. "And I have provided provisions and Food for the men in their nine moth services as did my compatriots."

You stood dumbfounded, she had as the report said. "But the payment…"

She raised a hand. "The debt has changed hands, as noted in paragraph 3 of the agreement."

You looked at the agreement and noted the loophole, how had Denethor missed this, how had he missed this. Hell how had Boromir missed this, the deal was rock solid.

The curse had struck again it seemed, they should have expected this. Of all the things they had left to lose, they had to all but lose the fleet. The White Fleet of Gondor!!

It wasn't even fully paid off yet!! They just paid the overhaul and repair bills from the Greyjoy rebellion. Once again the World has taken steps to crush your people and its economic future.

"Seven Million...SEVEN MILLION!!!" You proceeded to rip your chair to pieces. "YOU BITCH!!"

Barbrey Dustin was many things but soft was not one of them. "Remove him."

….

You had a bucket of water dumped on you by Faramir who had a few bruised fists. "I take it went to hell."

You looked down to see you had the Ring of Barahir, and only the Ring of Barahir you had been stripped naked and beaten with sticks. "There was a loophole in the contract, and I called her a bitch and destroyed a Chair."

Faramir sighed. "The Curse?" He knew as well as you did, the curse was to blame.

You nodded. "What else could fuck up a perfectly good trade Document in witch the one offering has a net loss and enriches everyone else save the country of origin."

"So they didn't pay." Faramir sighed, in all the years alive, Faramir was a source of strength for many people.

You stuck out your tongue. "She didn't show it but she was smug about not having to pay us, she got what she wanted and didn't have to pay anything in terms of capital save the bare essentials. Witch went to the crews anyway."

Faramir handed you some pants and the both of you sat down in the mud. "Once again...we've been robbed."

You sighed. "I should have never left the Forests, being a Ranger is easier than being a ruler."

Faramir nodded. "But it's your duty….and mine to keep our people safe as well as we can. It's all we can do at this point."

"Our best isn't enough anymore...Gondor is dying Faramir, I'll be the last of my line and our people will fade into myth, just like Numenor." You said. "My bloodline is all but spent."

Faramir got up. "Your not dead yet Aragorn...don't give up on our people, don't give up until the bitter end." It hurt to see him wiser than you, but he had a point, you weren't dead yet.

You sighed and got back up. "We better tell Denethor...he might destroy the room this time."

You gave a chuckle. "I'm more Afraid of what Boromir will do, he might take it as an act of war."

Faramir rubbed the back of his head. "He won't...we still need them."

You got dressed and moved onto your horse, and rode towards Gondor, to a home that despite everything, you would still give your life for.

"You smell terrible Strider...when was the last time you took a bath?"

You grinned. "Two weeks."

Faramir facepalmed. "No wonder we didn't get paid."

Beginnings and the Pain of Now: Results
Beginnings and the Pain of Now: Results

Well Time to break the News...Fuck Westeros

[]Break the News: You better tell them the News about what happened. Rolled:1D100 => 80

Denethor took the news extremely well all things considered. He didn't rage or go into one of his speeches in despair, in fact for some reason he smiled.

"We will have need of the favor earned with Lord Stannis, Aragorn...remind me to send a raven to the Master of Ships." Denethor was planning, this was good.

Reward:A solution is in reach..somehow.

[]Reorganize the Council(Diplomate): Once again everyone not name Denethor has quit, even the Maester left. Rolled:1D100 => 7

NO ONE LOVES YOU!!!!

MOTHER WHY DID YOU DIE!!

Failure.

[]A Military Report: You need to know what the hell you have, with the fleet gone you only have the army left. Rolled:1D100 => 82

Some good news...or rather less terrible news. The State of the Army was shall we say...reliable.

Given your working with a curse...reliable is a good thing.

In total you had 8,000 infantry. 6,000 calvary of the light and heavy variety. And if you counted the Rangers, 3,000 archers.

In total that is about 17,000 men...however there was one wild card.

The 4,500 strong Grey Company….The Former Royal guard of the line of Elendil who...drifted off somewhere looking to break the curse.

No one has heard from them in over 300 years. Maybe they're all dead or absorbed into the Golden company.

Reward: You can call 17,000 men. Search for the Grey Company is Now available.

[]Reorganize the Council(Martial):You need a new Military commander, and fast. Rolled:1D100 => 79

By the God's Boromir is Available, snag him before something happens.

Reward: Boromir is your Martial.

[x]Expense Report: You need to see this paperwork through, considering everything. Rolled: 1D100 => 80

Alright your income….is better than you thought.

Treasury:

2000 Dragons.

Income:

+500(Income)

+600(Trade)

Expenses:

-300( Taxes)

-400(Ironborn Tribute)

You were not proud paying Balon those bribes but...it was that or being Married to Asha Greyjoy. That bitch terrified you.

Reward: Expenses known.

[]Fixing the City: Minas Tirith is an imposing Citadel, but it needs some fixing up to make it well, better. Rolled:1D100 => 19

There was no room in the budget.

Failure.

[]Reorganizing the Council(Spymaster): This is your 15th Spymaster, you would like it for once if they didn't have a hidden agenda. Rolled:1D100 => 2

The Spy never showed up….he worked for Littlefinger and stole some documents…

You've grown to expect this.

But Littlefinger stole something important...Shit. Fuck it what is the worse that that little cocksucker can do. Kill you, you're already dead, the body hasn't gotten the raven yet.

Failure: -10 to Intrigue rolls next turn.

[]Reorganize the Council(Scholar): Fuck the Maester's your getting your own man. Rolled:1D100 => 100

You looked at the wizened old man and gave a glare, "And who the fuck are you!"

The man seemed rather taken aback by that as if he never expected it. "My My...did your mother teach you that." The walking stick showed clear signs of travel, he seems familiar somehow.

"She's dead why should you care."

(Continued in An Unexpected Surprise)

Disaster Roll:1D100 => 49

As it turns out Roose has a Bastard named Ramsey…

You have no idea why but this concerns you, Why didn't you know about this, and he lived in the dreadfort, since a babe...Fuck you gossip mills.

One of the most noticeable things about him is a ring...but would they notice a ring.

Damn gossip mills they don't tell you anything.

Reward: Ramsay Snow is now known to you. Fear the future and his plot armor.

AN:Sorry its Late, I had to plan things out. You understand.

An Unexpected Surprise
An Unexpected Surprise

Strider

You looked at the elder with a hint of bitterness, no one came to offer services to your kingdom without ulterior motive...it was the way the world worked moves and counter moves.

The world had blunted any trust you had for anyone...no one was your ally, even the stewards...as loyal as they were waited for you to die to take power.

And you'd let them, Gondor had no king, and needs no king. "State your business now elder...I have very little time to deal with you."

The man was ancient even by your people's supposed life, standing tall for his age, he had an air around him that made everything seem okay.

It sickened you to no end...nothing can stop the decline, only delay it.

The man spoke with a force you did not expect. "You hospitality is of the barest essentials, Bread and Salt and a cold courtesy. Am I correct in that manner of speaking Lord Aragorn. I am here because I chose to come to you of my own volition."

Lier...everyone is a spy against you...he has to be lying. "Your Lying Gandalf Stormcrow. You are nothing more than a harbinger of Doom and false hope."

Gandalf looked at you again this time in a stern manner that the elder chieftains gave to you when you were a child. "And you consider the honesty of my messages and counsel to be poison."

"Everything is poison, even if you say you are a servant of Iluvatar himself and even if he stands before me in all his splendor I would still see nothing but false hopes and promises the world has taught me that hope is nothing YOU ARE NOTHING!!" You said as you stood and looked at him with all the rage and anger against him.

….

Gandalf stood watching the rant of the angry little man, how could one so young feel such despair.

He listened for a brief moment as a butterfly landed on his staff and he listened.

A little nudge is needed. Said the all father above. He is bitter and angry, but unruly he must be given a little shock.

He nodded, but hesitated for a brief moment. We have to inspire him not destroy his will to live by scaring him into exile.

The butterfly's wing beaten and Gandalf knew what to do.

….

"
ARAGORN TELCONTAR!!! DO NOT THINK OF ME AS A WIZENED FOOL!!! I HAVE WITNESSED THE BIRTH OF ALL THINGS AND SHALL SEE THE END OF ALL THINGS YOU ARE A INSECT COMPARED TO THE MIGHT OF MY LORD AND TO ME!!!!" Gandalf had spoken in the greatest sense of force you had ever heard.

By instinct you curled up into a ball and started to cry for your mother. "MOTHER!! COME BACK!! I'M AFRAID MOTHER PLEASE!!! DON'T LET THE NIGHTMARES COME BACK!!"

You had pissed yourself, you threw your sword away and started crying like a babe, The stars were gone..the mountain was here and the dead were clawing at your face, nothing killed them nothing man could do could kill them.

"MOTHER HELP!!!" You Screamed.

….

Gandalf felt a sweat drop form. "Shit I went to hard." He then looked at the butterfly. The butterfly looks upset.

"Don't look at me like that it was your idea to use it on his weak willed mind. You knew the consequences"

The wing beat silenced your complaint. "Make him listen to the Music of Ainur...Your insane, He'll be driven to madness at best and kill him at worse."
The Allfather spoke, "HE IS OF MEN...THE ONES WHO SHALL MAKE THE SECOND MUSIC OLORIN….THEY ARE MY IMAGE, MY LIFE. MAN IS ME!! ELASSAR MUST BE REBORN HERE."

You nodded. "He will not be what you want Lord, he is not the man you imagined, he is terrified of hope even if he bares it for all."

"TO BE A MAN IS TO HOPE...TO BE ESTEL IS TO BE HOPE...HE MUST REMEMBER HOPE,TRUE HOPE. THIS WORLD HAS ERODED THE SPLENDOR OF MY CHILDREN, HE IS THE ELASSAR OF HIS PEOPLE…" The butterfly then left the staff.

You looked at the butterfly and looked at it, it was beyond anything. So simple yet so complex .

The Song of Anuir had entered your ear.

It sounded like your mother and you saw someone.

She looked like Luthian, yet was not…

"I love you."

Aragorn Telcontar would fight sleep to the bitter end, when he did sleep he awoke with dreams of a great winter and a foreboding eye. Night after night he had struggled to sleep.

Gilraen knowing that she would need a solution, song a lullaby to put the troubled child to sleep. Hoping to embune the song with all possible power, she said that everytime the song was sung the great heroes of old would come to protect him.

Aragorn asked if his father was among them.

Gilraen smiled. "Your father taught me that song to keep the Nightmares away before you were born."

….

You awoke in a daze, having had the first night of clear rest since your mother died. "Gandalf...I know you."

The older man smiled as the butterfly seemed to leave the room and enter the wider world. "It is a privilege to finally meet you Aragorn."

You had introduced him to the rest of the council and they welcomed him with open arms.

That night Aragorn slept without nightmares.

Instead he dreamed of a woman with ivory hair with an evenstar pendant.

Reward:Gandalf The Grey has joined the Council.

AN: Well, Aragorn got Character development, how awesome.

A Long Stubborn Night of Pain
A Long Stubborn Night of Pain

Strider

The Stars were out tonight, so you sat underneath the White tree of your ansestors.

The nightmare's that had troubled you since birth have faded, now you had a curiosity of sorts. A women had entered your dreams, the kind that was fierce and kind all at once. A gentle kind of love that you have never expirienced before or since that night.

"Thinking Lord Aragorn?" The wise face of Gandalf the Grey stated as he moved next to you.

"Am I mad, Gandalf...Are you just a dream that I'm having to make myself feel better about my nation to force myself to live...Or am I someone else dreaming of being me." You said in a inescapibly mad tone.

Gandalf tapped his shoulder. "Why do you fear the world my Friend?"

You looked up at the old tree branches and sighed. " It is because it is a hopeless place, that at any moment a scheme or plot by some unseen force could destroy us all. And I'd be too terrified to stop it, I couldn't stop what is to come."

Gandalf looked at you with pity. "You were taught to fear what you see...wern't you...that the world itself is just a pawn against your people by some unseen force."

You nodded, ever since this world had cursed your people, all you had seen from it was scorn, a lust for your people's blood and treasure.

A sort of evil that should not be possible, they wanted to take everything...they couldn't take everything.

It was impossible. Because you made it impossible, you are the bulwark holding the gate alone.

It was a bitter feeling, this hope for the future...but it was a comfort.

A Fool's hope was still a hope indeed.

The Death or Arador: Arador, Father of Arathorn, knew he would die this day. The Mad King would see fit to end his life for any reason, your only crime was being the blood of a Dragon slayer as you watched your friend die you shouted "ARATHORN AVENGE ME!!"
