Personality & Bio: As a child, Hubert was often teased for his "odd" name and his relatively small stature, and as such he never really developed the social skills to make friends. He found a reprieve, however, when his father needed to bring him to his job at the RCPD one day and Huey happened to meet one of the office's K9 units. The two hit it up, and Huey decided that, when he grew up, he wanted to work with these beautiful creatures himself.

It wasn't easy, as he first had to qualify for the RCPD, which required more growth than his 10-year-old mind had imagined. However, with the support of a father who was glad that his son wanted to follow in his footsteps and a dream of being better than he had been, Huey made it to that particular peak and set his sights on his ultimate goal. He never outgrew his quiet nature, but it is now tempered with a confidence his younger self never had.

This helped greatly him when he first met Fiona. In many ways, she was the model of an ideal candidate: showing more intelligence and tenacity than any of the trainers could remember. However, she was also temperamental and struggled with the discipline training that a police dog needed in order to be safely sent out, to the point where it was likely she wouldn't be able to make the cut.

Huey wasn't sure why he became attatched to her. Maybe it was because he saw a reflection of himself: a flawed youth that could be more given the chance. Maybe she reminded him of the very first K9 he'd met. Maybe it was just destiny. Whatever it was, he spent time with her, and to the shock of many she responded well to his attention. Together, they worked out her flaws and accentuated her strengths. She's still temperamental, especially around strangers, but that is tempered by an understanding and trust with her handler.

The two have been together ever since; handling everything from drug searches to missing person's cases, and every time if there was something to be found, one of them found it (Usually Fiona: Huey is only partially joking when he says that she's the only one the Task Force really wants, he's just along for the ride).

Skills:
+5:
Investigate
+4: Notice, Athletics
+3: Fight, Will, Physique
+2: Shoot, Empathy, Stealth, Drive

Stunts:

-Community Outreach (Officer):

You know your beat like the back of your hand. Once per scene, you may make a special roll to "acquire" equipment or resources through unconventional means. Your experience conducting field searches also means you tend to find more material from a Discover action.

-Canine Bond:
Huey and Fiona have worked together for years, to the point where they can almost read each other's thoughts. On any action where they meaningfully work together, get a +2 bonus.

-Attention to Detail:
You can use Investigate instead of Empathy to defend against Deceive attempts. What others discover through gut reactions and intuition, you learn through careful observation of microexpressions. (Taken from Fate SRD)

Equipment:
[Handgun]: 9x19mm Browning HP w/ SSIII Retention Holster
[Armor]: Second Chance Ultima NIJ II Vest
[Radio]: Motorola HT1000
[Baton]: Monadnock PR-24 Side Handle Baton
2 x 13-Round HP Magazine
2 x S&W Handcuffs
D-Cell Maglite
Pepper Spray
Folding Knife
Police Interceptor
Doggy Treats

I've been trying to fit Huey and Fiona together to act as a single character, and that's given me some trouble. I welcome ideas.

EDIT: Took out Fiona's armor, still thinking about a better High Aspect and third Stunt.
EDIT 2: Grabbed Attention to Detail from the Fate SRD for Stunt 3, and added some doggy treats to my inventory.

Interesting. Sounds like he'd be a revolver guy with that many years under the belt.

Dogs are generally run through the system as pets or companions with their own stats. I'll write that up later.

I'd probably suggest something more personal / character related for the high concept just to give the char more depth.

I don't think they made doggy armor at the time.

Also, is it a single or double purpose dog?

He kinda would be. I noticed that a lot of the players were young and I figured I would go with older beat cop that never really got above into any special divisions, detective ranks, or really anything higher than a sergeant. But he would be one of those faces people just think of when they think of the RCPD regulars.
His face claim makes me want to punch him

REALLY HARD

don't know why

That's kind of the point. his face leads people to make an assessment on him before actually knowing him.

Thanks. I'll come up with something more personal. Maybe something about how he deals better with animals than with people in general?

To answer your question, she's a double purpose aimed at drugs.

Okay, so I made a major overhaul to my character. @Sushi you were right the doctor part was a bit too tacked on, so I decided to forgo it. Hopefully the overhaul would be a bit better.

What about the high concept 'Unofficial Therapist'? I see nothing that justifies its presence in both your experience and bio. Although in your bio there is this part in the end from which your character through depression likes to comfort others.

I don't think there is an error here, to be honest. It's just a bit confusing as. I think something like 'A Shoulder to Cry On' or something similar might represent better your character's caring, soothing and comforting attitude. You're the perfect PR guy. < That also is an idea for an aspect that might fit you.

I might be just overthinking it. Just putting out some thoughts.

That's kind of what I meant by "Unofficial Therapist". Though you're right "A Shoulder to Cry On" sounds much better, thanks.

Trouble: A Barely Functional, Human-Bean
... what?

In all seriousness, maybe the trouble is something better fit by her desire to get the case to prosecution no matter what. "Overzealous" or "Habitual Rule Breaker" maybe? Depends if you want her to be like, rehabilitated in that respect with the transfer or whatnot.

I think in general it's a lot better. Might not be a great idea to have no means of defense within the skill pyramid (and as a police officer they would have some training in weapons), but this character definitely has a direction you could go with.

I'm not sure exactly what it is but the writing feels a bit disjointed now that you've rewritten some parts and left others unchanged, it's a little clunky because of it.

So is the general idea just a really empathetic / nice cop?

Been working on a few other things at the moment:

_____1993 Ford Mustang SSP (Special Service Package)

^This is probably the fastest of the cop cars you might see. We'll probably have 2-3 Crown Vics, marked for uniform, unmarked for detectives, an Explorer (K9), and some oddball cars for undercover.

Equipment-wise these cars usually have flares, road flags, sampling equipment, radios, and typically a shotgun and an M1 Carbine. Basing my decisions off some research on Missouri LEOs at the time, LE Rangers will be receiving Glock 17s, Sheriffs get S&W 4006 or 4013/4014s. Detectives tend to get compact firearms, like BHP "Detectives," Colt Commanders, the S&W Compacts or snub noses. S.P.F. get issued an MP5, as well.

'course, this is all really tiny details. Mostly flavor. :3

I'll get to a tentative roster later on, but I have some updates for the other games first.

Yes. That's the basis.

@Sushi I want to put in his backstory that he did 4 years active in Vietnam. Does that go on experience or straight backstory?

That's impossible. Considering that the Racoon City events happened in 1998 and at that time your character is 32 according to your sheet. When the Vietnam war ended in 1975, your character was barely nine years old.
The only way for him to be a Vietnam veteran, he'll have to be at least in his fifties and up. An old man that should be in retirement already.

Hes supposed to be 52, drafted at 18 in '64 did a 4 year tour and returned home in '68.

I think for police officers, there is a mandatory retirement at the age of 50 in the US due to obvious reasons. I might be mistaken, however. Check up on it with the GM if you want to be sure.
EDIT: I was also confusing you with @Meanjojo. It is his character who is 32. Apologies. x)

Generally I know a few officers in their sixties that still take duty tours. Besides chief irons is in his what fifties-sixties during re2 although his age is never explicitly given

Both, but he'd be pretty close to, if not retired. Most PDs force retirement after 25 years of service and stop taking candidates over 35.

if the concept is interesting enough they could put him on the team just to point out they have one VERY experienced officer on the case.

*shrugs*
