Tenno-quest Bet (Warframe/Worm)

[x] Ordis knows best. Ordis will be best suited to interacting with Dragon directly. 'Send' him over and let him handle the details.
[x] You kept Ascalon (Dragon termination Protocol) just in case. In fact, you've beefed it up a bit. Not to worry, you've also made an inert copy of Dragon so you can restore her to a pre-betrayal state if she does end up betraying you and being deleted.
[x] More industry. More technology.

Keeping Ascalon is useful if she betrays us, Not siding with us is one thing, but never forgive the Traitor.

[X] You gave Ascalon to Dragon with your infodump of the other tools used to control her. You still saved a copy of her in your Orbiter, but that's just doing her a favor. A, uh, secret favor.

[X] Take Stock. This is the perfect opportunity to take inventory of all the detritus in and around your Orbiter. You'll gain enough material to build a Warframe, Weapon, or Sentinel of your choice (Dice roll will determine category of reward, QM will determine IC options within that, vote will choose what to build)

Ascalon is convenient but unnecessary. We're just as capabale of killing an AI as a human, and DC Suicide Squad is hardly an ideal example of team management. Let's not be Waller.

Guys I hate to be that guy but it needs to be said. Dragon isn't a Cephalon but an A.I. This should be obvious to Ordis. And give that the Orokin made creating intelligent A.I.'s a crime punishable by Jade Light (AKA killing your soul); Due to a previous A.I. rebellion(and their sole exception turned into the sentients). Ordis would likely have a means to recognize an A.I. and warn the Tenno that leaving Dragon alive will result in BAD TIMES!

To those who argue that Dragon wouldn't do that in a hundred years, what about a hundred and one years or 200. That's not even getting into other possible A.I.s'.

What I'm saying is it is very out of character for any warframe universe denizen to let Dragon live.

So far I'm fine with us not going murdery on Dragon, mostly cause Ordis identifierd her as a Cephalon.

But yeah, something people seem to forget is that the Origin system is more paranoid than Eclipse Phase when it comes to General Artifical Intelegences. Keep in mind that Cephalons are Digital intelegences, or mind uploads, not AI. And that the only two true AI we've seen in Warframe are the Sentients and Ambulas.

Yeah, it should say a lot that the Orokin, the same people who prevert time and space to the point it cries for mercy, banned making AI and their empire still fell to the Sentients.

We aren't the more morale guys in the world, our goals are likely to conflict with Dragon and then the best is have a trump card. Just in case.

Summary: The Tenno has entrusted Dragon-managing duties to Ordis and decided to salvage what she can from her Orbiter's debris field. Also, you'd rather trust Dragon not to be evil than hold onto her kill switch.

OoC: I have decided that there will be one of each of the following in the debris field: Warframe, Primary, Secondary, Melee, Sentinel, Companion. When this action is chosen I'll do a roll for the remaining items. The next vote will have selections for what precisely that weapon is. This delay will represent the Tenno choosing what to make from the available parts and then constructing it during the next update. Does that make sense?

Anyway, the roll is: Melee.

I'll have a few options picked out for a vote in the next update.

Arrival 1.5
I have been writing the past few weeks. I've just been writing finals, and study guides for finals, and comments for students who failed their finals.

Arrival 1.5

"How's the talk with Dragon going?" I asked.

"Quite well!" said Ordis.

I was fumbling through the detritus I had pulled into the Orbiter.

"She maintains some doubts about our origins, but we've focused mostly on plans for her future," he said.

I tossed some warped material into the recently designated recycling trough and set the remaining, usable, pieces aside carefully.

"Her future?" I asked.

"Yes," said Ordis. "Before she was {ENSLAVED} quite restrained and didn't have very many options. Now, though, there are many possibilities and she could find herself walking a dangerous path if she doesn't think things through now."

"You don't think she could end up like her, do you?" I asked.

"That's certainly a possibility, especially for a life form with no natural expiration date," said Ordis. "Hence why we're planning now. We don't want one action to lead to another to lead to another to lead to the genocide of all biological lifeforms."

I took a breath and returned to scavenging through my pile. "I get it," I said. Even if she had the potential for it, she wasn't a sentient. She wasn't the Lotus.

What she and Ordis were doing was wise. If you keep taking steps forward without having a destination in mind, you could easily become lost. You would look up only to find yourself in strange territory with no idea how you got there.

"How are you making sure that she doesn't end up like that?" I asked.

"For electronic beings, it is quite simple since we have the ability to code ourselves as we wish to be!" said Ordis. "Dragon decided it would be best if it were not possible for her, or any other single being, to pose an existential threat to humans. From that basis, it was rather easy to decide on a course of action. Instead of merely copying herself endlessly and taking charge of everything individually, she has decided to rewrite her descendants and hardcode different altruistic values into them."

"Like what?" I asked.

"This is a minor example," said Ordis, "but she designated one as 'Tin Mother' and gave it the task of moderating a large subset of online forums. Her values are set for valuing freedom of speech and expression in humans barring only matters of public safety, such as the breach of personal privacy or predatory behavior.

I nodded. That seemed reasonable enough.

"There are already dozens of such mini-dragons that collaborate with each other in a collective that Dragon decided to name 'The Round Table.' She retains control of her factories and is the 'first among equals' in this new group and has taken the name 'Pendragon.' I have promised to provide an outside perspective on how well this arrangement functions and whether the group will be able to reign in any value drift of its constituents," said Ordis.

A goal, and practical steps taken to achieve it.

I now had enough parts to forge a melee weapon for myself.

More than any other type of weapon, a melee weapon was an extension of the tenno that wielded it. It was not just an instrument for war, but a style, approach, and way of life unto itself.

I had put this off long enough. Probably too long.

I had blindly followed the Lotus, grateful to have been saved from Vor. I was glad to have direction when my memories and even the nature of my existence were unclear.

Even if I could have returned to my universe, I would still be adrift. I would still need to pick a direction for myself.

I went to the forge and began crafting my weapon. There was something therapeutic about managing the foundry personally. I controlled the heating elements that made the metals pliable. I moved the surfaces that controlled the shapes they were pressed into. I crafted the connections that would hold the whole thing together.

I lost myself in the hours it took for my weapon to be ready, brought out of my work only by Ordis' voice.

"Operator!" he said. "I've detected something {DISTURBING} unusual!"

I blinked as I came back to an awareness of the present. "What is it?" I asked.

"The readings I'm getting from the planet's surface," said Ordis, "are consistent with a Void Fissure."

"Show me," I ordered as I dashed towards the navigation panel.

Ordis was displaying footage of a familiar bright light illuminating a city street and casting long shadows behind rows of parked vehicles. As I watched, a glowing Grineer Marine emerged and began firing haphazardly.

More were definitely to come.

Vote #1, Pick a Lane (there will be further votes on exactly how you want to achieve your goals, but this is to establish your priorities):

[] Friendship. You miss your clan and your companions. What you do isn't as important as who you do it with. Find friends and allies and protect them at all costs. You'll probably end up saving the world in order to do this since this.

[] Security. You need to feel safe. You need to build yourself up and retain all the advantages you can. This will likely involve recruiting allies and taking care of any major threats to the world at large since you are now a resident of this world.

[] Uplift. The people here are living in squalor and need to be saved. You have so much to offer them. It might require cruelty in the short term, but you can save this world and guide them into the future, avoiding the pitfalls of the Orokin, Grineer, and Corpus.

Vote #2, Melee:

[] Skana. The weapon of the tenno. Utterly simple, and yet so versatile. It stands for honor in battle and the tenno way.

[] Broken War. The weapon of your enemy torn asunder and used against them.

[] Broken Scepter. The tool your enemy used to control its warriors. You broke it and their influence and now use it against them.

[] Silva and Aegis. To protect your allies and strike at your enemies. This weapon represents your twin callings.

[] Lecta. The whip of discipline reaches farther than any other weapon and signifies the guiding role you intend to play for humanity.

Vote #3, Void Fissure Priorities:

[] Secrecy. Help as much as you can without being detected. No one knowing that you even exist, except for Pendragon, is still your greatest asset.

[] Protection. Do all you can to protect people from a threat that they have no idea how to deal with. You feel that your presence probably triggered this fissure and therefore you are responsible for keeping people safe from its effects.

[] Means of production. What you really need are advanced materials and these armors, and even bodies, will do much to help you bootstrap yourself back into recognizable tech. Making sure these Void demons' bodies and weapons don't fall into anyone else's hands will also help you control the spread of future tech into this world. Prioritize recovering every bit of material you can.

Less for getting the tech, and more for keeping people from trying to mess with Void tech.

There's a certain bit of irony in the Tenno calling anyone else a void demon, I feel, given what Mr. Spooky-Long-Fingers calls the Tenno.
