They aren't important enough to go on the list, stuff like the traditional Weasely sweater, candy, Bill got her an animate doll that can also be used to model clothes on, Charlie got her a Exploding Snap with a dragon theme, that kind of thing. Coming up with one for each Weasely would have taken a lot of time.
 
Great update, I really like the chapters form other perspectives. Really helps bring the story to life when we see it with someone else's thoughts.

As much a I love the creepy murder twins I think we have burnt through the majority of our 'capital' for the break. Probably best not to push anymore.

Incidentally I just realized the basilisk would show up on the marauder map and it would have it's original name. I really hope Salazar named it something like Miss Wiggles and the reason it keeps getting overlooked on the map is because it sounds like a normal house pet name.

Honestly it seems like the map as some sort of "interactivity" filter for who it shows since I don't see how you'd be able to read any names in the common rooms otherwise.

I agree with informing twins that we may not be able to come but preferably not in a way that may indicate that we need a rescue operation.
Plus if we imply that its due to some illegal actions on Ginny part they would be less slighted. It is just Ginny doing some criminal stuff, not because she does not want to hang with them or anything .

P.S. On to the next outing to the Muggles. We received a wonderful dagger as a gift, and still haven't given instead. I think that should be fixed. Maybe some relatively rare combat pistol (relatively, because robbing the SAS seems like a bad idea to me, and we won't find a real exclusive from regular bandits).

You know, we might be able to do a fun little trick here -- ask to spend the day with her great aunt Lucretia, go to the twins place from her Aunt's place, and don't tell her parents.

It feels like the kind of trick kids would do in this setting after all, lol. More points of failure than just arguing with her parents successfully, but probably easier individual checks.

Might even be able to do it as a backup.

I'm betting on Molly being unwilling to deny Ginny access to family after denying her access to her only friends in her house, and then being able to get her aunt to help her do this.


Is this a good idea? Jury's still out on that. Is it a fun idea? Yes, yes it is.

I really like the idea of going to Lucretia's but don't want to split the vote.

That is the thing: The treatment Harry is receiving is definitionally not a dealbreaker, the protection being worth a few years of varying degrees of abuse and neglect, and he isn't ready to rock the boat just because the idea of it makes him sick to the stomach. He's done or permitted a great deal of horrible nonsense over the course of his post-Grindlewald career in the name of the big picture. He knows damn well he doesn't need to like the things he does.

But the horrible nonsense doesn't serve his purposes here, he doesn't like it or benefit from it, and the reason it exists is because he's already being stretched thin and every day he has to decide which battles to fight. Headmaster, Grand Sorcerer, Supreme Mugwump and 'why the fuck is this a coveted title considering its etymology' Chief Warlock are all presumably positions he in a permanent political knifefight within.

If something comes up he can and will reprioritize especially if there is a comparatively easy fix. It just might mean something horrible happens elsewhere as he has to pull his attention away from an avatar of Hastur, The King in Yellow, being summoned in the highlands of Papua New Guinea or something.

Ruthlessness means being willing to be contemptuous even of your own plans when they fail you.
