"SARGE IS THAT YOU?" "STOP YELLING AND WHATS A-" She looks at me. "Oh hey Al... what's a sarge?" "It's what... what is a sarge? I don't remember probably a rank." Well that's not good. "Well what do you need Al?"
Betty Cooper was and still is a badass woman from my childhood who fought with my dad during… Damn at least let me remember wars. Either way she fought with my dad and even when I can't remember her rank, I know for a fact she was ranked high. 45 years old and still fighting.
"I just need to know what we need right now and where to sign up for the expedition."
"Just go ask the paperwork guy… poor guy has to both stich together maps from the city but also deal with Craig."
"Who's craig?" "Oh right its the 3 foot tall grasshopper righttt there" Than I see something. It just looks like a normal, except 3 feet tall, grasshopper. Who seems to be arguing about prices with the so-called paperwork guy.
"I got work to do we can talk and catch up later." I just nod as I walk over to see whats this about. I need to sign up so… here we go.

"Tic I told you these are the best prices I can give you tic." "I'm not asking for outside the city map. Just the city, but we don't even have the coins your talking about for the city alone. So we might as well map it out ourselves." "Tic fine but what about…"
I walk up at this moment. "Tic hey wanna buy a map? Tic"
"I can already tell that if the whole camp doesn't have the money for a map I definitely don't." 'craaa' what kind of-
"Tic Listen how about this. I'll give you not the map but tic 2 enemies you might encounter on your 'expedition'. In turn tic you will pay me back 20 wood coins for the info or 10 wood coins for the most basic info I can give. TICC."

[]I cannot make that decision for the camp.
[]How about I just go fetch the commander?

"Also, what are wood coins?" 'craa' "Tic. Wood coins are the most basic currency that the system has. Tic. Now are we doing the deal or no? Tic."
While this was happening paper boy went to go get the commander. They made a deal for the most basic info. 2 enemies we will encounter on day 1. The most common I should add. Which leads me to think we will still deal with other kinds of enemies.

Raider (Human raider)(Common): Lvl 1
10/10 hp
Energy 12/12
Rage 0/3

Lesser bison juvenile 'Minson'(Common): Lvl 1
20/20 hp
Energy 14/14
Rage 0/5(For every damage you take gain +1 rage)

Raiders apparently come in groups of 2-4 and lesser bison will travel in herds of 10. They are also really small compared to actual bison. They weigh only 50 pounds at Lvl 1.
Craig as I now know him now, was kind enough to give us a variant of raiders. Lone raider which is stronger than normal raiders but are alone. Craig says that if we can get information for him he will count it towards the debt. Possibly even give us wood coins.

Lone raider: Lvl 1
14/14 hp
Energy 14/14
Rage 0/4

I also signed up and did very much boring paperwork. Also craig tried selling this-
Health powder (Low grade)(basic rank)(Common): Heal 3 Health when applied to a wound. Can be ingested to heal internal injuries. Boosts healing per hour by 2. Can be used 3 times. Cost 5 wood coins.

-But he doesn't seem to understand what NO money means. He then went on to explain that this is the lowest grade health powder he can sell. Until mana concentration becomes denser, he can't sell much else. Also, he will buy things from us like 'drops' from monsters. Good to know.

Last thing I need to do before I train is talk to that knight.
John 'knight of old': Lvl 5
Knight of old? What kind of- you know what I'll just not ask.
As I walk over he looks up at me. Somehow I sense surprise.

[]You ok there?
[]'internal thoughts' Can others not see him?

Than I sense confusion than realization. He seems to just nod than I get a message from the system.

You have been given a quest from ??? john!
Beat a lone raider 1v1 after accepting his challenge! Rewards: Gain 2 knight points and gain the rank of trainee in ???! Time limit: None.

I should tell the commander about this. I sense agreement. Question is how I should tell them I got a quest from a knight that they can't see. Also did I just get forced into a quest?

[]Tell them what you know.
[]Try to explain you found an invisible knight. Got forced into a quest and need their permission to do it.

Came out a bit late because internet for my whole town went down. So anyway here it is. We will do training rolls next part.

[X]How about I just go fetch the commander?

Oh how the hell will I explain this? Probably the parts I can prove… What can I prove?

Sam 'aka the commander': "You wanna tell me that you found an invisible knight? That you got a quest from him that aligns with our mission tomorrow and can possibly get rewards from said quest?"
Alvod 'aka the mc': "Yes and I think I can show you the quest." 'That went WAYYY better than I thought it would.'
Sam: "Pretty simple so we can do this without deviating from the mission's goal. Anyone wanna add anything?" 'Quiet huh?' "Well yes you get permission and also after the quest is done tell me what trainee gains you. Also what knight points give you. I want a written report, understand?"
Alvod: "Yes sir!"
Sam: "Alright then go train. The previous rule about training still applies."
Alvod: "Yes sir! Thank you sir."

Ok now to train like hell.

(low level basic training ground allows 1d100 per action)Training roll Round table stance 1(1)(0/20): 91, 68, 100, and 82. +1 roll for crit 16 = 357
Dc 20/40/90/120/200/300/360/??? = Total passes 6 = 160 Xp for Round table stance 1. Every pass doubles the previous pass Xp. First pass was 5 Xp.

Round table stance 1(1)-Round table stance 1(2)-Round table stance 1(3)-
Round table stance 1(4)(20/160): Get into the round table stance 1. This stance specializes in 1 on 1 while also being capable of small group combat(3-6 people). Gain 1d6+2 attack in 1v1 and 1d4+1 attack in small group combat. Gain a small(Upper limit 20) bonus to defensive rolls.

Strength training roll current 12: 53 and 58 = 111
Dc 30/60/100/140/??? = 3 passes gain 3 strength.
Current 15.

The 1st hour I just made adjustments and tried to consistently stay in stance.
The 2nd hour I started slashing and stabbing. Which in turn led me into a trance.
The 3rd hour I have no memory of with the fourth I barely remember at all. All I do know is that my arms hurt and my hips all the way to my calves are hurting as well.

Attention user you gained 160 Xp to your round table stance 1! Your skill has gained 3 Lvls.

Ok? That explains it. Now I was planning on working out my strength… but I should probably go slow with that.

I said go slow. Did I listen to myself? Nope. I went as hard as I could. Thanks to the system I'm feeling good enough to get off the ground. So I should be able to-

Attention user you gain 3 strength!

-go to bed… Worth it. I should be fine tomorrow. Hopefully. Also when I stopped the knight was nearby and nodded his head. I sensed… hope?

Gain muscle fatigue(1): -2 energy and -2 strength.

Todays the day and I don't feel as bad as I should. Probably because of the system. Which-

[]I'm starting to like.
[]I'm still very much weirded out by.
[]I'm still wanting to study its ins and outs.

I should go report to the commander to see where my team is.

Sam: "You are going to be called squad A-1 or alpha 1. Your goal is not to explore and map the surrounding area. It's to simply get an idea of the threats so that we can then send out more squads to map the area." 'Oh right the quest' "You have only 1 side goal… it is for Alvod to fight a lone raider 1 on 1. You are not to jeopardize the safety of the squad to do so. I want everyone back alive. To do so while under equipped I have gotten-"

He then explains 3 things we have for this mission as well as when we should be back. 2 days worth of food, 3 days worth of water, and health powder which will act as our medical supplies. We have 3 portions of it and each portion can be used 3 times. Apparently Craig gave us a good deal for it. For each portion that comes back used we must pay 6 wood coins for it. However for every portion we don't use we can just give it back no payment needed.
The time we should come back is 6:00 Pm or tomorrow morning if something comes up. The current time is 7:30 am so plenty of time to explore and possibly fight.

We were also given our positions and roles. The classes we have are 3 scouts, 2 hunters(1 equipped with bow and arrow. The other equipped with a crossbow), 1 bard(The combat leader), 1 priest(The medic), and finally 1 knight(Me).
I'm supposed to be the main front line as I'm both the one with the most Physical stats out of all of us(also Hp), but I also have recovering abilities that can keep me in the fight.
I also found out the scouts are a mix of frontline and backline. They are mostly here to spot enemies for us as well as help me with the frontline. Apparently I have the most physically defensive class in base while also having plenty of damage options.
Also the bard can give us buffs but not many direct damage options. The priest will hold onto 2 health powders and the combat leader will hold the other 1.
My focus should be on-

[]Defending my team.
[]Making sure any enemies we encounter die.
[]Getting the quest done.

As we exit the town I see a big river going by the town and into what appears to be an ocean.
We have been moving for about 30 minutes and have encountered nothing. Yes we are walking so we are not that far away from town, but still I haven't even seen a bird. The area surrounding the town is either the river, the ocean, or grasslands and some random trees. We are currently moving 200 yards from the river. We want to keep it in sight.
We have now been moving for 1 hour 10 minutes and finally we see something. That something is the raiders that craig gave the info for. There were 3 of them.

Scout 1 'Alpha 2': "Hold. 100 meters in front of us there are people. Direct north."
Scout 3 'Alpha 4': "Can confirm I spot 3 of them. They have small axes that have so much rust I can even see it at this distance. They are not wearing much besides some loin cloth."
Bard 'The combat leader' 'Alpha 1': "Ok then we should slow our approach and save our energy. We need to see the threat levels but that's no reason to go in without energy. Alpha 2, 3, and 4 keep an eye on them. Alpha 5 and 6 have your arrows ready."
I keep quiet and listen to the orders. Waiting for my call which is alpha 7.
Bard 'Alpha 1': "Alpha 7 you are to intercept them if they get to us. Alpha 8 you are to focus on healing anyone that gets hurt."
Alright then this should be fairly simple as we outnumber them by more than double their numbers.

Scout 2 ' Alpha 3': "I think they spotted us… yep they have spotted us." 'They are charging at us?' "They are now charging at us."
Bard 'The combat leader 'Alpha 1': "Ok then Alpha 5 and 6 fire when they are in range. Try and focus 1 down. Ok 2, 3, and 4 get behind 7 and 7 get next to 5 and 6. Get ready for intercept."
As the orders go out the raiders are simply charging at full speed over 100 meters. Which might seem bad but if they get tired while doing so then we are in good shape.

Alvod 'The mc' 'Alpha 7': "Hey can you see their Lvls?"
Scout 2 'Alpha 3': "Yes they are all Lvl 1. 10 Hp and they have 9 energy in the tank right now. Their max energy is 12."

As that is said 1 arrow flies out and hits the leading raider in the shoulder.
Scout 2 'Alpha 3': "Good hit that knocked out 5 Hp."
Then the bolt comes out and hits the same raider who is now much slower in the stomach. Then he falls.
Scout 2 'Alpha 3': "1 Down great hit that dealt 7."
Now faced with 2 raiders at 40 meters and coming, the first archer fires another 1 hitting the raider in the leg.
Scout 2 'Alpha 3': "That one dealt 3 and slowed him down."
The 2nd archer or crossbowman is still loading the next bolt. The raider that hasn't been hit is now 22 meters away and I get in front of the archers reloading. Than another Arrow came out to hit him in the head. Killing him.
Scout 2 'Alpha 3': "2nd raider down 1 left. They are 25 meters away." 'These are good shots' "Also that hit crit for 13 damage."
The crossbowman finally reloaded when the raider who I could finally see his Hp bar. Which was 6/10 which means bleeding has an effect. Was 15 meters away and shot him in the chest. Which since it was unarmored almost let the small bolt go through the back.
Scout 2 'Alpha 3': "That bolt dealt 9 damage no crit. All enemies are down."
Bard 'The combat leader' 'Alpha 1': "Good job everyone. Alpha 2, 3, and 4 look out for more enemies while we search the bodys."
3 Raiders defeated gain +3 Xp!
Well that's nice since I didn't even get to fight. We then found 5 wood coins from the bodys and 1 rusted throwing axe.

Rusted throwing axe(Lvl 1 Max Lvl 3)(Inferior)(Extremely common): 14 Inches long with the blade being 5 inches long. The blade protrudes between 2-3 inches outwards. 1d3 attack durability 6/6. Mostly used for smelting down into new iron ingots. Can supply 1 pig iron ingot per axe.

Alvod 'Alpha 7': "This seems-

[]Useless.
[]Not good but at least we got something.

Priest 1 'Alpha 8': "I'm more happy with the wood coins. We got enough to buy a health powder."
Bard 'The combat leader' 'Alpha 1': "Also to pay back our debt. Alpha 3 put this in your backpack."
Alvod 'Alpha 7': "So what's the threat level you think? We killed them before they got to us with just 5 arrows and bolts. So in other words 2 people killed the 3."
Bard 'The combat leader' 'Alpha 1': "I'm assuming their weak to ranged attacks but are good in close combat. Granted their Hp is half ours."
Alpha 3 takes out a journal.
Scout 2 'Alpha 3': "So while I don't think we should grade them off of 1 fight. I do think this is around danger grade 1.5.
In other words each of them alone can be taken down easily but in groups the grade would be around 2.2 and since the max amount of them that can show up is 4 then I think that grade would be accurate."
'They also just rushed at us from afar losing energy and than dying to arrows so probably not smart either'
"I also think we won't have to worry about ambushes too much as they don't seem too intelligent.
They started running as hard as they could even when we were this far away which in turn made them lose enough energy that if they got to us with no injury the fight would still be quick.
So we should expect them to keep going no matter the injury as the guy who got hit in the leg was still coming even when limping.
Lastly this is all considered at low Lvls. They should get more intelligent as the Lvls go higher. Also they had no equipment besides the axe and yet they managed to get that close to us after taking arrows and bolts."
Bard 'The combat leader' 'Alpha 1': "So they are weak for now but as the days go by they can become a threat? Got it. Let's get moving again."

We walked for maybe 10 Minutes and we found a lone raider. So that's good for me.

Scout 2 'Alpha 3': "I see a lone raider over a 100 meters from us. It's got equipment. A helmet of some kind."

When he said lone raider I was happy to get the quest done. When he said equipment I got a little worried.
Scout 2 'Alpha 3': "So how we wanna do this? Just go up and have Alpha 7 challenge it?"

[]I mean that's the formal thing to do.
[]I mean we should get close enough to see its Lvl first.

There done. Also the fight happens on the next one. Yes there are hidden rolls but for our mc the rolls will be shown. Also you got really lucky on the training rolls. Lucky for me they just get harder as you go on.

[X]I'm starting to like.

Due to lack of votes I'll shut this down. I'll probably do one similar to this in a bit with a hunter class. Ether that or cowboy class.
