Survive: Its not the fall that'll kill ya (Marvel Cinematic Universe)

Hmm, there's also Zexion with his illusion/copy magic.

[x] Transformed: default appearance
[x] Civilian: casual (t-shirt and jeans)/work attire, glasses
[x] Magic: Blue Mage/Copy Magic like Zexion.
[x] Weapon: Lexicon (Large book that boosts magic ability)

In Chain of Memories RE: his battle consists of him stealing your cards to use against you, while in Final Mix his attacks involve meteors or sending you to an alternate dimension (never played it, just going by the wiki).

He also uses a book as his weapon which I think is pretty cool.

How about we start out with a sort of Tome of Eldritch Lore, either one we found or a copy we are writing ourselves. Our book boosts our magic and holds our notes on our spells. If we encounter any new type of magic, we can record our findings and create new spells based off of them.

Basically, it acts as a combination of a journal and spellbook. Letting us record our findings upon discovering new magic or supernatural creatures and then later crafting new spells from our findings.

Our past in fighting the forces of darkness may have involved a great deal of research on our foes to let us copy their powers or form counters. We still have our general list of spells, but our specialty is ripping off our enemies abilities to add to our repotoir like some kind of Magical Girl Megaman.

I'm gonna hold off on adding a vote on weapon until APL weighs in on it.

All he mentioned us picking in the last character creation post was transformed appearance, normal appearance, and magic specialization.

KH has gravity magic too.

Also, I'm reminded of Gravity Rush.

Heh, Gravity Rush was the inspiration for the Gravity Master.

Hmm. What about a Keyblade Master specialization, then?
APL has final say, but I'm guessing we just have KH magic, not access to everything related to that universe, including keyblades.

Derek is correct. No keyblades or any other weapon. MG fights with a 'scepter' (which is just a wand with a fancy name).

Also, incase yall haven't done so already remember to put your choices for appearance and magic in a vote.

Can we still suggest alternate magics? Well, I'm not going to be miffed either way so...

Although I participated in the fandom for a while, I never actually played the games so I'm not sure what the deal with magic is with KH. I'll content myself with throwing out other magic possibilities that don't get much play but are interesting anyway:

-Diablo II magic (necromancy, sorcery, paladin auras, etc. Is flight an inherent MG thing because D2 is kind of low on that, but with the sorceress you do have short-range teleports)
-Fable magic (probably not very interesting power-wise, but a good spread of basic abilities including slowing time down, summoning ethereal blades, healing, and the usual lightning, fireball, etc. Also no flight iirc. If we go by canon Fable magic, using it will make you constantly glow like a Christmas tree though)
-Journey to the West (The Monkey King could among other things: see through illusions, transform into a multitude of shapes, is the inspiration for Naruto's shadow clone technique, was super strong, super fast, invincible and immortal, could fly on clouds, and jump an impossible distance)
-The Mahabharata (the main combatants could summon 'astras' - divine weapons that were basically divine Noble Phantasms and were skilled to the point of ridiculousness - Arjuna lit the sky on fire because he wanted to show off a party trick during a competition.)
-I'd suggest any of the systems Brandon Sanderson came up with but they are admittedly kind of tame unless you go with the truly hax combinations.

Can we still suggest alternate magics?

Certainly.

Actually Fable is beat all round by KH. I don't think there's a single Fable spell that KH cant do better.

As for flight, that's not important, Angelica has wings after all. That's not going to change no matter what.

Certainly.

The only way I'd take fable magic if if we can empower everyone with the hero suite.

Cool, some suggestions :

D&D style magic - a classic.

Nanahona - from what I know this is essentially a technologic system, and if we decide to work with the Avengers we can get help from the resident meta-geniuses to boost us a great deal.

Nasuverse - Essentially it boils down to, if you can do it with tools and mundane understanding you can do it with magic without tools and in a much shorter period of time by simply simulating the appropriate energy flows. very useful when you can study meta-tech.

Babylon 5 technomagic - Not technically magic, just clarketech, but it makes for an interesting progression

Naruto Chakra - Essentially elemental magic with a side order of runic magic in the form of seals relatively self contained, but we could end up dealing with the iron fist or whatever.

Harry Potter magic - Very diverse and fast to execute, though lacks power.

Buffy magic - long buildup but very powerful, relies mostly on external forces that you have to appease.

So what are the votes looking like? A combination of little sleep last night, a long and early day today, and another early day tomorrow means I'm not going to call it tonight. I just wanna know where everyone is currently leaning.

What I'm familiar with are Kingdom Hearts, Naruto, Harry Potter...

Oh, um, for those who want Kingdom Hearts magic, should we maybe include

[x] Kingdom Hearts Magic

in our vote, so, you know, it's clear we specifically want that even if a specialized version of it focusing on something in particular?

Eh, for the KH stuff just leave it like:

[X] Magic: Light Specialization

For a choice other than KH use something along the lines of:

[x] Nasuverse Magic with a focus on projection.

This way those who have already voted and don't want to change can keep their votes the way they are.

Reiterating:

[x] Transformed: default appearance
[x] Civilian: casual (t-shirt and jeans)/work attire, lighter hair and black eyes (disguise magic)
[x] Kingdom Hearts Magic: Space specialization, like Xigbar

Looks like going for the default transformed appearance, casual dress and some disguise magic (tied between different hair/eyes and lighter hair and black eyes) for civilian appearance, and Space specialization at the moment.
