"LANE! You said you'd have the story on the Atomic Skull attacking us today. Where is it?"
Lois was typing on her laptop, ignoring him for half a second. Then she hit the enter key and met Perry's eyes with a smile.
"It's in your inbox, Boss." She said in that beautiful voice of hers.
Perry snorted, "Fine. OSLEN! Pictures."
Jimmy eagerly slid a manila folder across the table to Perry, "Here ya go Mr. White."
The man in charge of the Daily Planet picked up the folder and looked through it, "Good, good, crap, good, crap, good, good," he paused, "Excellent, this one goes first." Perry closed the folder with a gesture and threw it across the table back to Jimmy, "Get these to printing."
"KENT!"
You start in your seat.
"Luthor is running for President and you said you'd have the expose on my desk yesterday, where is it?"
You wilt, deliberately, "That's, um, remember Skull yesterday?" He nods, "he, uh, it, um, he got my computer. I lost the story."
Perry glares and you shrink under his gaze, "Christ Kent, we save to backups for a reason!"
"He, ah, he got those too." You cringe and put on a large placating smile, "Sorry?"
Perry White rubs the bridge of his nose with a sigh, "How long until you'll be finished rewriting it?"
"Tonight. Definitely tonight. Uh, if nothing else happens." You adjust your glasses.
"I want the story on my desk before we close then. Everyone dismissed, get back to work!"
Everybody filed out and you went back to your desk, got out your laptop, and started working on your second expose on Luthor running for president.
Suddenly a resounding BOOM echoed throughout the city of Metropolis.
"What was that, some sort of bomb?" Jimmy exclaims.
KAL EL OF EARTH! FACE ME!
The voice was somehow even louder than the boom that had preceded it.

His baseline Avatar is enough to give you a good work out, even have a decent chance at defeating you, at your usual levels of performance (You live in a world of cardboard and rarely if ever cut loose), and if defeated or abandoned or killed would inconvenience the actual Darkseid only minorly. He can make stronger Avatars by investing more of himself in it.

[X]Be careful here. Attacking suddenly like this is unusual for Darkseid. It's highly likely that he's got some kind of plan. Use senses to look for dangers, both in terms of minions and objects such as a dead-man switch, a Mother Box, or anything X-ray vision can't penetrate
[X]Alert the League, get out inconspicuously while changing into costume, disable any potential traps at range, then use speed to try and knock Darkseid someplace uninhabited.
[X]I'm pretty sure I can't actually kill Darkseid in a meaningful way, so it's perfectly alright for me to cut loose. Besides, he literally asked for it.

The rest of the room has smelled a scoop, and it only takes them 15 seconds to leave the room empty save for you. At the 10 second mark you hit your League panic button. When your supersenses tell you're alone you take off your work clothes.
You also spare a look at Darkseid, strangely he seems to be alone.
Seeing that no one is above you in the stairwell, you quickly fly up to the roof. As you do your posture changes, back straight and chest out. You run your hand through you hair, changing it to Superman's usual spit-curl. Your face adopts an easy, confident expression, normally it would be a smile but Darksied warrants look of grim determination. Were you to speak, your voice would be an Octave lower than Clark's.
Arriving at the roof you then quickly fly down into the sewers, and then to the catacombs where Metropolis' friendly non-human population makes their home. You've recently heard that a number of homeless humans have joined the Undermen community, and that gives you hope that someday they can join you living openly on the surface.
You are beneath Darkseid now. You rocket through the earth, aiming to uppercut him into the stratosphere, away from the people in the city.
You are backhanded into the ground before you even manage to touch his chin.

All the big names are in the Justice League: You, Batman, Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, The Martian Manhunter, Orion, The Question, Greeen Arrow, etc. The Justice League only fights crime in those countries that lets them, it focuses solely on disaster relief and emergency response in the countries that don't let them fight crime (Currently only Japan, South Korea, and Chile lets the League fight crime, although many countries have come to individual arrangements with local league members).Random832 said:

Orion looks at you, thoughtful. After a moment he nods, "You are a unique man Kal El, I doubt..."
