I think most of the series members that would see it would do a double take at the Kid but for different reasons. Most of the Gundam ones for example would not like putting kids not Teenagers but kids younger then 12 in the firing line. Even Mika and Setsuna would be a little thrown by the situation I think.
Plus it not like FMP is not going to show us something run on Willpower soon.

Though our own protagonist might react differently to that last bit than most - Lilia's "ex-"Bahram, if anything she'd be more likely to accept a machine running off willpower than to believe in fairies considering she worked directly with an Orbital Frame pilot.
"This is Uruz-7, in pursuit of Secondary. Uruz-6, confirm you have eyes on Primary."
"Relax, Sergeant. You couldn't pay me to take my eyes off the princess when she's in hero mode."
"Uruz-6, this is Uruz-2. Please be advised that our comms are being recorded and I will be submitting them to the Commander for review."
"S-sorry, Sergeant Major. Anyway, Primary is getting the other kids to an emergency shelter. I'll stay on overwatch but they should be covered."
"Uruz-2, this is Uruz-7. Secondary is not heading for his home. He's made a blind turn, and I shou--"
"Uruz-7, come in, you're breaking up."
"...Uruz-2, are fairies real?"
"I don't...think so? Over."
"Roger. Believe I have been compromised by a chemical or QBW weapon."
"Ugh. Put a pin in it, Uruz-7, and get to your Arm Slave. New orders from Ansuz. We're fighting the big guy. Acknowledge."
"Roger. Uruz-7, out."
G-Island City
Your name is Ryunosuke Akagi, and your day has been positively ruined by a giant monster showing up. It's not wholly unexpected - after that whole trash monster debacle last week, the brass in Tokyo were concerned about needing more defenses on the seaside, hence pulling you - Japan's top Arm Slave pilot and military AS League champion - and your crack squad from Nerima, ready to deploy in an emergency. You still wish it had waited until you'd finished your lunch. Making sure you'd on sound only, you finish shoveling your to-go ramen into your mouth before opening comms to the rest of the Red Dragons.
"Alright, team, this is a big ugly, but remember, it's not the size of the mobile weapon that counts, but who's piloting it!" you say, pumping your Type 96's fist for emphasis. You're pretty sure you got that quotation right.
"Uh, sir, that's not how it--"
At that precise point, a lance of fusion-powered plasma cuts two kilometers across the bay and drops the facade of a skyscraper on your fireteam. You will not be participating in this battle.
Tokyo Bay
ZONDEEEEEEEER
The enormous robotic beast cries out its name as it lumbers through the waters of the bay, recharging after the shot that just wiped out another squad of JSDF Arm Slaves, the glow of Minovsky Particles suffusing its form as it converts its stolen fuel into energy. Like something out of Japan's cultural nightmares, the legged ship-thing wades toward downtown Tokyo and the rest of the urban neighborhoods on the shore.
You are Lilia, and you're not going to stand for this, no matter how much bigger the thing is than Theletos. You charge in, yelling a war cry in your cockpit as the monster lines up its freakishly techno-organic cannons for another assault on the JSDF.
THELETOS moves to Bay and attacks EI-07 with THERMAL SABER
Roll 1+CQB 3+HIT 2=6 vs. Roll 5+EVA 0+MOB 0=5 Result: HIT
(DMG 2+ CQB 3)-(DEF 2 + ARM 2) = MINOR DAMAGE SCRATCH DAMAGE from Zonder Barrier (HP: 14750/15000)
EI-07 attacks THELETOS with PLASMA BARRAGE
Roll 2+AIM 2+HIT 2=6 vs. Roll 3+EVA 2+MOB 3=8 Result: MISS
Theletos's Thermal Saber almost immediately bounces off another strange energy barrier - does everyone have these things now? - but thinking quickly, you switch on your new Patented Nergal Technology They Definitely Just Looted From Aliens in an attempt to counter its barrier with your own. Your second charge doesn't do much more damage, but it's enough to leave a mark on the bow of the former tanker ship, and more importantly, for it to turn its tube-like particle cannons toward you, and not the out-of-their-depth soldiers on the shore or buzzing overhead in Realdos.
The ensuing counterbarrage makes up in volume what it lacks in precision, filling the sky with columns of lethal plasma that are enough to spark against your new barrier even with near misses, but you make it through without any structural damage, backing off to try and line up a shot with one of your more powerful weapons.
Meanwhile, beneath the waves, Lee is fighting his own war in his amphibious arm slave - specifically, looking for any vulnerabilities the mechanical creature might have and sticking a knife in them.
Zy-98 SHADOW moves to Bay and attacks EI-07 with MONOMOLECULAR CUTTER
Roll 3+CQB 5+HIT 2=10 vs. Roll 8+EVA 0+MOB 0=8 Result: HIT
(DMG 2+CQB 5)-(DEF 2 + ARM 2) = NORMAL DAMAGE MINOR DAMAGE from Zonder Barrier (HP: 13750/15000)
EI-07 attacks Zy-98 SHADOW with FUEL LINES
Roll 6+CQB 2+HIT 2=10 vs. Roll 3+EVA 3+MOB 3 + 2 (Aqua Module)=11 Result: MISS
It's at that moment that you see them, first out of the corner of your eye, then on your early-warning system. Through the haze of radar and ladar interference, you can just make out two silver shapes flying through the air and dropping gracefully to the shore directly in the monster's path. Well, one of them drops gracefully, a mobile weapon in the shape of a blocky blue humanoid. Its partner, similar-looking but in red, lands on its face.
"EnRyuu, I thought you were practicing your landings," the blue one says, audible over the local defense comms.
"Sorry, sorry."
A different, booming voice comes over encrypted comms, the speaker's projection cutting neatly through the thick static that the Minovsky-Ahab radiation is causing. "Asuka team, thank you for your assistance. Under the authority of the New UN South Ataria Accords, the Gutsy Geoid Guard will be taking operational control of this battle."
"Uh, roger, GGG," you say, since you're sure as hell not saying that full name out loud while trying to dodge plasma beams, "but can I ask who we're talking to?"
"Our identities are formally classified, so call me GGG-1 for now. We can talk face to face once this Zonder is dealt with."
"Right," Lee chimes in. "You've got special tools for dealing with these 'Zonders', right? What can you tell us about it?"
"We have several working hypotheses!" a reedier voice chimes in on the channel. "But tactically, this one is big, tough, and will level everything within dozens of kilometers if you set off its reactor. We can only stop it permanently with the use of GaoGaiGar and...one of our specialists, but the first thing we need is to immobilize and trap it somewhere safe!"
"We'll start trying to weaken it, chief!" the more enthusiastic of the two field units chimes in. "HyouRyuu, start working on containing the fires. I'll start working on its armor."
"You don't have to tell me what to do," the...same voice? says, calmer. Did they have twins piloting those things? Regardless, the blue mobile weapon transforms into what appears to be a firetruck and begins laying down cryogenic suppressant, while the red one remains humanoid and fires off its own heat beams from a handheld weapon.
GGG MOBILE UNIT moves to Docks and attacks EI-07 with MELTING GUN
Roll 1+AIM 2+HIT 2=5 vs. Roll 3+EVA 0+MOB 0=3 Result: HIT
(DMG 1+AIM 2)-(DEF 2+ARM 2) = SCRATCH DAMAGE NO DAMAGE from Zonder Barrier
EI-07 attacks GGG MOBILE UNIT with PLASMA BARRAGE
Roll 5+AIM 2+HIT 2=9 vs. Roll 2+EVA 1+MOB 1=4 Result: HIT
(DMG 5+AIM 2)-(DEF 3+ARM 2) = MINOR DAMAGE (HP: 7000/8000)
"No effect!" the voice adds, absorbing some of the incoming fire with a mounted shield while its partner continues to contain the collateral damage. "We'll need something stronger to get through its barrier!"
"Stop wasting time!" the blue unit says. "Civilian lives are in danger!"
"HyouRyuu, EnRyuu," the reedy scientist's voice comes in again. "Your Sympa Ratio is plummeting. Stop arguing and pull it together, will you?"
"Yes, doctor!" two voices reply in unison.
"I think we got their rookies," you say to Lee over a private channel.
"Funny, I said the same thing last mission."
"About Skull Squadron?"
"No."
"CHIEF!" yet another voice cuts in on the channel. "They need more firepower! Requesting approval for Final Fusion!"
"Right! Our new friends are going to love this," GGG-1 says. "FINAL FUSION! OPERATION APPROVED!"
"ROGER!" a woman's voice cuts in this time. "FINAL FUSION! PROGRAM DRIVE!"
You note another set of silver figures flashing onto the battle scene - a small humanoid unit followed by several others, all of which are caught up in a vortex of--
"Green particles? Again? This is getting silly."
--at any rate, they perform a sophisticated mid-air combination faster than you've ever seen any mobile weapon transform, leading to:
"GAO!"
"GAI!"
"GAR!"
"Wow," you say. "That pilot's got some enthusiasm."
"And quite the impressive ride," Lee agrees.
GAI casts ACCEL
GAOGAIGAR moves to Bay and attacks EI-07 with DRILL KNEE.
Roll 1+CQB 3+HIT 2=6 vs. Roll 4+EVA 0+MOB 0=4 Result: HIT
(DMG 2+CQB 3)-(DEF 2 + ARM 2) = MINOR DAMAGE SCRATCH DAMAGE from Zonder Barrier (HP: 13500/15000)
EI-07 attacks GAOGAIGAR with PLASMA BARRAGE
Roll 6+AIM 2+HIT 2=10 vs. Roll 9+EVA 1+MOB 1=11 Result: MISS
The huge black flying machine wastes no time in following a similar course of action to you, using powerful thrusters and its hefty bulk to smash a drill into the Zonder's head-hull, with equally limited success. Impressively, the pilot manages to dodge retaliation.
Unfortunately, even as the attack happens, the damage from the gouges you've inflicted so far begins to hammer itself out before your eyes, the beast's metal armor healing and smoothing out in a way metal really shouldn't.
"It's one of the many things Zonder Metal can do," the shouty pilot says in nearly a growl. "But we have the keys to victory that will let us stop it for good!"
"We do need a strategy, though," GGG-1 says. "Mobile Unit, Asuka team, what's your assessment?"
Tactical Situation
EI-07 is a solo boss: It may retaliate against all attacks made against it in a turn
EI-07 has been successfully distracted away from attacking the JSDF, and will now focus on targets in the same Zone.
EI-07 possesses both a general Barrier and HP regeneration (500 points per turn)
Destroying EI-07 outright will destroy Tokyo, but GGG has means of averting this that will arrive at the battlefield shortly.
Allies
Theletos (Lilia, HP: 7000/7000)
Shadow (Lee, HP: 4000/4000)
GGG Mobile Unit (HyouRyuu and EnRyuu, HP: 6000/7000)
GaoGaiGar (Gai, HP: 9000/9000)
Another ally will be arriving next turn
GGG's Specialist will be arriving next turn
Opposing Forces
1x EI-07 (Zonder Metal, HP: 14000/15000)
Current Positions
Bay Zone: Theletos, Shadow, GaoGaiGar, EI-07
Docks Zone: GGG Mobile Unit
Planning
Please vote for a plan for Phase 2.
[] PLAN: Mobile Artillery
-[] GGG-1 informs you that the Mobile Unit has several useful attacks it can deploy if its members can cooperate enough to combine, including a way to shut off the Zonder's regeneration. This will require a RESOLVE check (DC 8) on their behalf, as they've never combined before.
-[] Everyone else will focus on distracting the enemy with close-ranged attacks
[] PLAN: Battlefield Warp
-[] GGG-1 informs you that GaoGaiGar has a weapon that can prevent the Zonder from attacking the shore for the rest of the battle. However, it will make it difficult to make ranged attacks, and force the team into melee with it
-[] Everyone will need to close to the same Zone, then Gai will use the Dividing Driver attack
[] PLAN: Split the Party
-[] GGG-1 informs you that GaoGaiGar has a weapon that can prevent the Zonder from attacking the shore for the rest of the battle. However, it will make it difficult to make ranged attacks, and force the team into melee with it
-[] Gai will use the Dividing Driver attack. The GGG Mobile Unit will keep their distance and focus on damage control rather than direct attacking
[] PLAN: Write-in
Today, my second-favorite recurring gag from SRW W, the jackass one-off Char clone from Full Metal Panic (Ryunosuke Akagi) getting owned by a super robot monster. Frankly, I'd have loved to have used Patrick, but we're on the wrong side of the world.
Everyone introduced in this post is from King of Braves GaoGaiGar. I wanted to get in a scene of them organizing on their end but I also wanted to get this post out this weekend, so, here you go. We'll fill in the GGG organization more after the battle.
Boy do I hate regenerating bosses with barriers. We can't even exploit the action economy against this one! I'm going on the GameFAQs forums to complain about this game's balance.
Oh neat, the 1s were in all the places that didn't matter
Is it bad that Lee's starting to give off "crutch character that leaves" vibes? /j
[X] PLAN: Mobile Artillery
The supporter we have is a +2 so 50/50 chance they get it right. It's a coin flip, but at the moment we have the wiggle room to let them try (and I assume the added benefit of them doing this is that they get more experience with the fusing), and quite frankly if the thing hits us during our distraction run we rolled horribly.
I'm guessing the new friends are the FMP! Crew and I want to say Mamoru and Kaidou? Unfortunately most of my GGG plot knowledge is what I've picked up from the altered plot from 30 so don't have any guesses there.

So boss one quick question but just how squishy are AS's and how much buliding pieces can they take getting drip on them compared to a MS for example. Also I thought that the Hem in plan was the one to limit the defense forces causalities.

Think Knightmares, their armor is approximately tank armor, entirely mundane materials. Not rated for anything other than conventional weapons, and not many of those if they are armor piercing or heavy.
They ARE extremely agile and optical camoflage means getting that hit is pretty hard though.
'Our characters' standing to the side and making sarcastic commentary about the GGG crews performance instead of trying to help them or continuing to attack the Zonder is... mildly annoying. I guess this is, like, the intro to the boss fight. So whatever.
This is probably the best bet currently:

If you count the actions and account for the boss' unlimited counterattacks mechanic, its just Talking Is A Free Action. We didn't skip turn, they just arrived after everyone acted

Some time passed between the briefing and the first encounter, and this little scene was to show that the Zonder was still a threat in the intervening time. I'll go ahead and confirm there are zero dead from that particular attack, as it wasn't a direct hit and dropping concrete on an AS isn't going to kill the pilot. The other plan would have involved actual rolls against the JSDF units and the attendant possibilities of more battle damage.

Now this is an artifact of me running the "mechanics" of the quest like a turn-based video game and condensing everyone's actions down to one roll per post. The majority of my writing experience comes from running tabletop RPGs, and I definitely can see how that shone through here. I'll take this feedback on board and in the future spread the action description out a little more in dialog-heavy scenes.

Got it and thanks for the reply boss. I would also say you have been doing a good job with the pace of events in the updates and having a clean a concise order of events where it's is clear what each unit and character is doing.
In all fairness to our Real Robot pilots standing around doing jokes during the fight, any snide comments directed at the Zonder Robo probably had about as much effect against it as their weapons did.
