I decided to create my own history surrounding a fictional mangaka named Hideyoshi Kudo because I've long admired the imaginative worlds and storytelling potential that manga offers. In particular, I've been a fan of Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro, known for "Toriko," and Tite Kubo, famous for "Bleach," who have made significant contributions to the manga industry. However, I've always felt that their talents have not been fully realized or appreciated to the extent they should be.
Shimabukuro has a remarkable ability to craft intricate and imaginative worlds filled with unique characters and thrilling adventures. Kubo, on the other hand, is renowned for his visually striking battles and intricate character fashion designs. Yet, despite their undeniable skills, both artists have faced criticism and, in some cases, are perceived as not reaching their full potential.
Creating a character like Hideyoshi Kudo, who combines the best qualities of Shimabukuro and Kubo, allows me to explore an alternate reality where these talented creators receive the recognition and acclaim they deserve. By developing the narrative of Hideyoshi and his wild west manga, "Sunlands," I aim to celebrate the creativity within the manga industry and highlight the untapped potential that many believe lies within artists like Shimabukuro and Kubo.
Through this fictional history, I hope to shed light on the importance of recognizing and appreciating the talent and innovation that manga artists bring to the medium. Hideyoshi Kudo serves as a symbol of the unfulfilled potential and underappreciated brilliance that can be found in manga creators like Shimabukuro and Kubo while offering a fresh perspective on the wild west genre with "Sunlands."
