Star Wars: Mandalorian Nation Quest (AU)

that is good for us as this makes it easier for them to join us in a Coalition or Alliance

I think we should focus on the Northeast right now. We should grab Tion and the Centrality.

I don't think we should get involved in the Race War on Dac though, Mon Calamari vs Quarren is not something I want to deal with at the moment, regardless of how badass the shipyards are.

i dont neither want to get in involved in the Race War on Dac but there are many other nearby Sectors that i want to join us. we should try and get as many as we can and maybe at somepoint we can look to Dac

Thing is, we have a shit ton of unsettled worlds in the Ash Worlds that we can expand into. We need to focus on getting out population up.

Ok we know the limits of our societies ability to assimilate new immigrants into our culture, we need that hospital and good health care up and running as well as more droids to do the simple work for our people untill things settle down.

Basic droids might work if we manage to get a university and research centers up and running.

If anything we need our ships to be

A) economical for us in manpower and credits.
B) to have enough firepower to deal with enemy forces.
C) to be able to insure security In the event of a boarding team.

That's why some droid and automation would help.

But we really should hope to get some shipyards and people going. Heck a good health care system as well as parenting classes would definetly help.

As well as a meeting place for young families to gather and share experience and ideas on how to raise the next generation.

That's why some droid and automation would help.
i agree with this as we have to many planets to fully exploited them of there resource so droid and automation would help. i think all manual labor should be done by droid while the Mandalorian should focus on getting more children and raise the next generation of warriors and of course some scientists

One of my family members tried to convince my dad to have me put in a group of home for mentally disabled people. Haven't been in a good state of mind to write. I'll try to have an update posted on Wednesday.
Well they sound like right pillocks they do. Take your time. More than anything else, we want you in good head space.

Now back to war hawking.

It is imperative that we focus on building up our military strength first and foremost. A mandalorian who cannot fight is fake. A mandalorian who cannot fight well might as well be fake.

Therefore we must make the military our top priority so we can start taking the fight to our enemies as soon as possible.

What makes you think we can expand even further?

Nope. What happened in the fic?
Stuck with cellphone, so here is the text directly from the fic:

I took a breath to calm myself. "You would be making the Trandoshans pay you to hunt dangerous beasts threatening your cities, your people, your young. They would pay fees to dock their ships in your ports, right out in the open, where you can keep track of them, and prevent them from leaving should they decide to hunt your people. Why, you'd even have them paying you to have a mandatory tracking beacon attached to their person. For their safety, of course. Every Trandoshan legally applying for a hunting license, where you can see them, is one not landing a ship on the beaches, setting up slaver camps. That is how I would say it, anyways."
When Gunray had contacted me, practically singing my praises to the stars, I had been surprised to learn that the Trandoshans had built a giant statue of me on Trandosha in recognition of me apparently giving their nonexistent economy a jump-start and making Trandoshans a byword for excellent, and reputable mercenary service. Said statue was matched by one on Kashyyyk, in recognition of not only outright killing the Wookie slave trade and convincing the Trandoshans that hunting slavers was more profitable and honorable than being slavers, but also incidentally kicking the Wookie economy into overdrive, as Kashyyyk became the destination for thrill seekers across the galaxy thanks to its reputation as the ultimate sporting destination for Trandoshans.

For the moment I'm war hawking. But we're playing mandos. Of course I'm going to war hawk. Why aren't you?

Also, just my thoughts. Our fleet backbone should not be battleships. With our current population, we should have at most 1 carrying our fleet flag. If that.
Our line of battle should be heavy frigates. A few cruisers to, you know, cruise around and do stuff. A sizable number of corvettes to send out swashbuckeling and going on merry adventures and possibly committing war crimes depending on the mood.

Because we don't have the population to support anything offensive. We don't have the men to crew our navy as is, let alone sustain a planetary assault. We also are almost entirely dependent on foreign sources for spare parts and equipment on anything other than infantry level.

Only a fool would attack with his supply and manpower so insecure. You seem to be one such fool

Oh hey, this is back; I'll have to reread to remember what the situation is.

I'm pretty sure that if we go around deliberately picking fights the Republic is going to work up the motivation to squish us -- nobody wants a repeat of the Mandalorian Wars. Also, I feel I should point out that SW ships don't follow the same frigate-destroyer-cruiser-battleship scale as RL ships; instead, they use this:

Anaxes War College system

Technically, it won't come into effect until the Clone Wars, but it's effective. Actually, now that I think of it, I should probably direct this to @Alias -- basically, my inner SW nerd insists I point out that, among other things, in universe there isn't the concept of the battleship per se. That's not to say that the concept of big, heavily armed warships doesn't exist (witness the ISDs, for example), but they're not called battleships. Anyway, it's well past 2 AM where I am so I'm going to cut this off here and come back tomorrow to do some editing/elaborating.

Actually Mandalorians do have the concept of a battleship, going back to the Kyramud-Class of the Mandalorian Wars. Read the EU. . .

I feel like if we get the chance, we should buddy up to Rendili Stardrive. They're the makers of the only real capital ship that isn't either a refitted civilian ship or horribly outdated. Plus, they let other people produce the Dreadnaught, so when we get our own shipyards we could produce our own modified version of it.

Turn 7 results
[X]Explore Kessel sector: The Kessel sector has never been properly mapped out. As a result there large blank spaces of maps for the sector. So perhaps there are unknown and valuable system's are just waiting to be discovered. Therefore have some of the ships based at Kessel explore the sector.
Reward: New systems discovered.

Pirates decided this quarter to attack Kessel. Your fleet and what defenses you were able to savage were able to easily to repulse this attack. The pirate rabble was quickly routed after some lucky shots you were able to destroy their flagship and thrown them into confusion rapidly defeat them. There are two possibilities. Either these are some of the most pirates ever or one of the Hutts competitors. The Hutts suspect the latter and have their agents seeking info that would prove their concerns correct. If they are then there's going to be underworld war. Whatever the case you cancelled the mission to explore the sector until you can ensure that Kessel will not fall or be raided by a hostile power. As a result, you moved your entire new fleet of CR-90's and drew down the crews of your ship's based in the Ash Worlds and recruited spacers from the migrants that arrived this quarter.

Result: Pirate fleet defeated. 37 Z-95's, 21 H-60's and their pilot's lost. Kessel sector exploration mission cancelled for the time being.

[X]Research center: With the recent migration from the Mandalore sector you've gained quite a few people with a wide ranging number of skills. That include scientists and engineers. As a result you can build a research facility to research new technologies and ships. Which will be useful considering Cathar's recent policies.
Time: 4 Turns. Cost: 150 million credits. Reward: Research Center building built. Research option opens.

Your people have begun building your research center a fair distance east from your capital. A precaution in case anything horribly wrong during an experiment. Though you doubt anything like that will happen. You have a fair number of very bright people and more arriving with each month. Still better safe than sorry. When this facility is completed you will able to begin a research project. Though only one as your current resources and staff are not enough to do more than one project at a time. Still better than no research capacity.

Result: Research center has begun construction.

[X]University: With your plan's for a research centre it would be a good idea to ensure as your scientist's retire or die that someone has the education and training to replace them. Also to make sure that there are people who can keep designing kick ass warships for your people.
Time: 3 Turns. Cost: 125 million credits. Reward: University established

Not every Mandalorian is suited for the life of a warrior. Still they can help the cause of Mando'ade in the realms of health, economics, research etc. For while the warrior's will eventually expand your borders outside the Ash World's by the blaster it will be scientists and researchers who will develop new weapons of war and technologies that will even the odds between you and enemies who will for the foreseeable future will greatly outnumber your people.

Result: University has begun construction.
[X]Diplomatic relations-Tion Hegemony: The system's of the Tion Hegemony are one of the major industrial powers in the Northern Outer Rim and one of your neighbour's. Perhaps establishing relations with them could help convince part of the Republic that you have no intention to attack them. That is until your in a position to be able to go to war and win.
Reward: Hopefully relations with the Tion Hegemony

You weren't sure how this would turn out with the Tion Hegemony being a member of the Republic and not really having an opinion of you either despite their panicking recently at you establishing a presence relatively near. Most people would understanbly freak out if Mandalorians settled near them, a legacy of your peoples countless wars and actions during said wars. So with the importance of this mission, you decided to personally lead it. Your advisers point out that the Cathar may try something. It was possible they would try something but you were willing to take the risk. So taking an appropriate amount of your warrior's and departing on your flagship and travelling to their capital planet, Desevro. You exited hyperspace near the edge of the system and announced your peaceful intentions and wishing for the Mando'ade to establish diplomatic relations with the Tion Hegemony.

They still deployed a sizeable part of their defense force a safe distance from your flagship. Not surprising to be honest since you brought a Kandoshii dreadnought to their system. You waited for a short time before being contacted and informed that the queen being willing to talk to you. Taking a shuttle down to their capital city you were greeted at their spaceport by the Queen herself. A few things quickly became apparent. The Queen greatly despises the Republic. Her people would leave the Republic if not for the damage it would do to their economy. She is rather energetic and she is no dainty flower. Quite a fan of blasters and explosives as she demonstrated on a shooting range. Quite a good shot from what you saw.

After that, you attended a dinner held in your honor. With some prodding by the Queen, you and the warriors present regaled her with your experiences and obviously none of the ones that would ruin the mood. Before departing the Queen expressed her hope your people would one day open their borders to trade and to continue to improve relations. All in all a very successful mission.

Result: Good relations established with the Tion Hegemony.

[X]Build a Hospital: Right now your people don't really have much of a health care system. Correct that problem by organizing your doctors and giving them a large building to operate from and as well what they need.
Time: 2 turns. Cost: 1 billion credits. Reward: Hospital established and the beginning of a health care system.
[X]Sub option: Darasuum

Construction of Darasuum Hospital has begun. It's a very much welcome addition to your infrasture. Right now your people only have a small number of clinics providing healthcare services in your capital and far too few doctors for the number of your people. So if a major epidemic were to hit... well thing's wouldn't turn out well. Luckily you've begun purchasing medical supplies and equipment which will be stored and used at your clinics while the hospital is being built. When the hospital becomes operational, the clinics will stay open but with reduced staff and hour's. Though if enough doctor's immigrate here then we'll be able to keep everything fully operational. Otherwise, we'll have to wait for the first class of doctors and nurses from the university to graduate.

Result: Darasuum hospital under construction.

[X]GR-75: Right now you're relying on warships to transport civilians and various goods due to you not having a merchant fleet. As well you will need ships to move whatever you mine if you don't want to deal with a middleman and sell it directly. Correct this by placing an order with Gallofree Yards, Inc. for their GR-75 medium transports.
Time: 2 Turns. Cost: 350,000 credits per GR-75. Reward: GR-75's.
[X]Sub option: 200

The order was placed and construction on your next two hundred GR-75 is in progress. After placing the order your reps by chance met with members of Jabba's gang. Placing an order for a small fleet of GR-75. Jabba's minions were tight-lipped about why and for now you figure it's for either smuggling or moving large number of people's. Sooner or later you'll probably learn he purchased them.

Result: 200 GR-75 under construction.

Galactic News

Bitthævrians raids in the Northern Outer Rim: Once again the Republic has found itself at war with the Bitthævrians after several Republic worlds have been raided by Bitt raiders. Republic Judicial Forces have been rapidly deployed to reinforce the world's most susceptible to attack and are coordinating local defence forces. Planning has begun for a counter strike into Bitthævrians space to bring to a halt this unprovoked aggression.

well things got started and im looking forward to how they get finished...also damn pirates attacking our mines!!! someone needs to Axe them the question of life...do or don't!

also we got things goin in that in 3 more turns our stuff will be finished...hopefully...

and that we wont suffer from RNG, of course this means we desperately need more efficient ships and droids to do the hardest labor, if only to free up manpower.
(that's what automation does, free up manpower for other projects!)

God! Fuck no. The only design I'll approve of would be some form of heavy frigate, you know, something that we can actually use to fill out our battle line. Corvettes are too damn light. Battleships are too damn heavy. One(1) single dreadnought is straining things as is. Even cruisers are too manpower intensive at the moment. Once we have enough population, maybe then we can start replacing frigates with cruisers.

Huh, republic's going off into another war. Wonder if we can offer them our services to go in and smack a few heads together.
