Director,
We hope that this message finds you well; the Mrlsst Defense Forces are seeking to expend their capabilities in light of the recent hostilities conducted within Freeworlds space. The Council has approved the expansion of the defense force and has therefore increased the Defense Force budget. To that end, we would like to order the following:
We can arrange for down payment, with additional payments to be made as necessary. If this order goes well, we anticipate the potential of requiring more vessels in the future; we would also like to discuss exclusive contracts for the major overhauls and supplies for the Mrlsst Defense Force, as well as paying extra to accelerate construction and delivery.
We await your response.

Unfortunately, we do not currently possess the licensing rights or blueprints to produce these craft. Attached is a list of the craft that can currently be built in our yards. And of course we are happy to offer refit and repair to your existing vessels or to produce any of a variety of civilian models.

High Orbit Over Mrlsst
Mrlsst Defense Fleet Flagship Tapani-class Carrier MDV Bird of Paradise
Commodore Acerri Vrand was a touch stressed these days. She had not been pleasantly surprised when a House fleet had suddenly dropped out of hyperspace on the edge of the system. She'd had councilmembers and secretaries screaming at her from planetside and she'd had to spend a few tense hours getting her whole force on alert, hoping that patrol vessels would be able to get back from their duty stations before anything unfortunate happened. She'd also shot off a holonet message to her FCN counterpart in-system and asked for his assistance, as well as preparing for a potential priority message to the other League Members.
Fortunately, the Barnaba ships had left.
Ever since, she'd been following the news with a wary eye and her and her staff had been running on caf and adrenaline. She'd shot off a high-priority message to the Combined Fleet command, requesting reinforcements from other League members in the event things went south. For now, she had rallied the bulk of her heavy combat firepower under her direct command in high orbit and she'd ordered everyone on ready-alert. She didn't want them coming back - and if they did, she wanted to be ready.
She keyed her comm, "Captain, let's run another scramble drill."
There was a pause and then Captain Garland's voice came back, sounding a bit wear. Well he might, considering they'd been at this for a while.
"Aye, aye."
She stood and paced to the other side of her ready room, pulling up the external display and an overview of all of the docking clamps. They currently all showed "green" - all 40 Manta fighters were docked and waiting. Then her thoughts were broken by the sound of a klaxon and the voice of the ship's flight controller echoed through the room - and the rest of the ship.
"Alert condition red - scramble, scramble, scramble - all pilots, man your fighters, all hands man your battlestations - scramble, scramble, scramble-"
The klaxon itself cut off after a few moments, but the Commodore stayed poised over her control panel, watching as fighter after fighter started to lift off from their external docking clamps and the status indicators turned from green to red to indicate an absent ship. As the ships formed into wing-pairs and then began forming into a larger attack wave around the carrier, she checked her chrono.

From the Foreign Office from Lamuir: I am afraid we do not have the capacity at this time to increase our deployment of ships to the Freeworlds Navy, nor do we wish to at this time. We will continue to support as we always have but our single ship saw be our contribution at this time.
From the Foreign Office from Aleron: If you will allow us to send our people at a discounted entry fee to your academy so that our people are not completely untrained or lead by those who have no tactical sense we can see about helping to increase the Freeworld's Navy and commissioning new ships.
From your own Military General Staff: Sir, as much as we are most happy to see an increase in our forces, we must ask that the second order for ships be put on hold until as such time that we have the resources to crew the new ships and fighters you are ordering. As it stands it will put a strain on our current resources to fully man these new vessels and starfighters with trained personnel. Unless you wish to try and find other ways of getting us the military personnel needed to man our new ships. - Signed: Inspector-General Marv Littlefoot.

"Yes unfortunately there have been disturbances in this sector. To be honest I had suggested stronger responses to both your own distress signal and the situation in Fondor but the bickering and indecisiveness of the other captains has made our situation a little more difficult. It is very fortunate we were able to recover you and as much of your crew as we did under those circumstances. It seems as though news has been spreading from Endor that has inflamed local rebels on Fondor and even Proccopia. Is there any clarification you can provide in this regard? Anything to combat these rebels and distressed officers. Any intelligence that you can provide is more power we can bring to bear."
"Reports from Procopia are still coming in, but it's...well to be blunt, it's a mess." Mira explained as she stood in front of the General's desk.
"Yes. We're not the symbol of unity this sector needs, are we?" Corvae let out a frustrated sigh, she had already seen these reports.
"The Navy's lack of coordination with the 1938th made us look like we are only wielding a hammer to every problem. None of them seem to understand this sector. Everyone wants this posting because they think it is easy, the Rebels have no footing and the locals are practically self governing. They view the local politics as hilariously quaint and something to ignore. I'm going to take some initiative, and I'm not waiting on the Navy's approval." Corvae said. Standing up, she straightened her uniform.
"There's also the matter of the..." Mira started but Corvae snorted, cutting her off.
"Yes, the Thunderflare. I read those reports too, and it's frankly embarrassing. We got the crew, yes, but everyone fell on that ship like kath hounds on a dead nerf. If I were the Rebels, I'd bait us again with that and draw us into an engagement that was more useful." Corvae said as she crossed her office to the bookcase, opening the cabinet and pulling out a decanter of fruit juice and two glasses. She did not tolerate drinking on duty, and so her luxury was a local favorite. She filled the glasses, first with some ice cubes and then the juice before handing one to Mira and sitting back down at her desk.
"I'm going to contact the Captain as well, see if I can at least get one or two of her ground commanders to brief us. Being from Death Squadron, and possibly even the 501st Legion, we may gain some insights on the Rebels. Particularly if it goes ignored by our Naval colleagues..." Corvae took a sip. "But first, we need to deal with this issue with the Freeworlds League before one of those fools decides it's a sign of open rebellion and gets us into a war we cannot win."
Reaching over on her desk, she accessed her personal comm system. Mira took a seat and quietly sipped her own drink as she waited.

FM: Major General Tessala Corvae, Imperial Army
Greetings,
I wanted to reach out to you before events out of our control were to cause unnecessary complications.
My Battlegroup has been in this Sector since the declaration of the New Order, and I have spent some time in this Sector in Command. I think my conduct speaks for itself, I have attempted to act respectfully towards the Tapani, and my gestures have been rewarded with peace and stability. I was, however, not involved in the Empire's decision to disband the Freeworlds Common Military, that was my predecessor, and it is not a decision I supported. Unfortunately, it is one of those matters where I could not undo it.
However, I digress. The purpose of this call was that I hoped we could at least have a face to face meeting. I wanted to merely establish that my Battlegroup will not intefere with the affairs of Tallaan, as before, so long as it does not represent a clear and present danger to Sector stability or to the Empire, but if I can address any concerns you may have of my Battlegroup or the Empire, I will attempt to do so.
Respectfully,

Sir,
I am sending this message to address a few concerns.
1 - I am formerly protesting the actions that our Naval commanders have been undertaking. They are demonstrating a gross misunderstanding of this Sector's politics, and I believe that we need to address this failing now before we permanently damage our relations with the Freeworlds and the Noble Houses. We should, overall, establish a strategic plan for restoring order before the Rebels seize upon the opportunity made by our appearant lack of unity.
2 - I am contacting the Tallaan ruling body to establish a dialogue. I intend to work to reach an accord to at least confirm their neutrality, if I cannot secure their loyalty. I would appreciate it if any antagonizing actions made by my naval colleagues or any of our allies were to be discouraged. It is my professional opinion that we should avoid antagonizing the Freeworlds, lest we send them running straight into the arms of the Rebellion.
Signed,
Major General Tessala Corvae
