Spirit Magicians Quest, Trouble of Twin Realms

[X] You can't stand being in this trash any longer, nor do you even know where to go, just get out and let them take you.

Getting captured: Bad.

Getting sick in a place where we have no medicine nor any idea how to get it: Worse.

At least if we seem to come quietly they'll be less likely to take stringent security measures, making it easier to slip away later.

Updated the FAQ with a link that might interest you guys.

Anyhow can I get a second vote or something? Else I will have to go off a single vote (sadface at lack of popularity).

Okay guys lemee tell you something, final exams over but Now I am doing the three week extra project so I forgot a bit about this quest. It's currently not too hard so you might still see an update in a few days just FYI.

Impeccable Interrogation

The stench is distant to my mind but the feeling of the motes hatred and the direness of the consequences are just too vast, I get out of the trash since its better to be seen by them rather then have the trash motes pressuring in on me any harder!

I obviously make some noise when I crawl out of the heap, covered in garbage. I am busy picking the worst out of my kit when one of the guards comes to check out the noise. He is clearly visible to my astral senses even if his kit is less distinct, the light from his lightcaster falls upon me like an indistinct shiny cone.

I am doing my best to calm down, my senses should go back to normal in time though talking with him is going to be difficult if my material senses are so muted.

"You there! What are you doing all covered in trash!?"

I...... didn't hear what he was saying, but I can probably guess.

Guess I better reply.

"Uh-uh I can explain....."

The freeze was that Sereen? That was weak, and awkward, this can go badly. Oh and here he comes, I think I roughly make out the fact that he has a spear in his left hand. When he's only a few steps away he stops, his eyes widening and mouth hanging open like a door. I simply smile awkwardly, this is the most embarassing way to be taken but it still beats dying in trash.

"Wow! A - an elf! Well this only means one thing, you'll be coming with me and I'll be taking you to the commander, she won't believe her own eyes!"

I simply nod and go along with it, he ends up walking behind me, occasionally prodding me to go in a certain direction. After what feels like a few minutes we meet up with other guards of various sizes and genders, though obviously less variation then in an elf village. They end up walking with me to the guard station, when there are several of them looking at me so intensely and curiously I feel mighty uncomfortable.

Put up with it, no stress, put up with it, no stress....... I am so regretting this right now. Plus they just took all my tools and weapons.

Somehow despite all this I am slowly forcing my senses to materialize, I seem to have a measure of control over my senses by now so at least that's good. They're gonna ask me all kinds of painful questions...... I don't know how much I can diverge and what I should tell them, they're probably good at detecting lies....

I am escorted into a room, the guards stand outside and close the door behind me as I go in. Inside is a human woman sitting at the desk and a serious looking and heavily scarred man standing next to her. By this point I am fully in synch with material existance and sit down in the seat opposite of her.

Neither of hem look very happy to see me, but I can't get a good read on them besides for that, they're keeping their faces mostly neutral. The woman leans forwards on the table between us and speaks.

"So apparently it seems strongly implied that you're the one who snuck over our walls, given the equipment you were packing. I... must also say that I am surprised to see an elf here, this may be the most interesting case I've had in a while, either way you should tell us... Why are you here and why did you feel like climbing over our walls in the dark?"

I hear the slight sound of the scarred guards grip on his club tighten.

Sorry if the text is a bit wierd, was experimenting with text sizes for loudness.

So sorry that I basically forgot and neglected this quest but the three week project is drawing to a close and I can thus begin work again, an interesting tidbit to hold you over while I start working on the update.

For dicerolls I basically handle things in a fairly bastract way, typically a D100 is rolled but as the plan employed gets better and the more favourable circumstances the more dice you roll and pick the highest, while the worse your plan or other factors the more you roll to pick the lowest.

Basically I have a situation chart which measure in an abstract way how good the situation is right now, it ranges from Awesome to Dead.

Awesome
Great
Good
Average
Bad
Dire
Dead (Game Over)

For how the situation shifts depending on yer final roll of the dice. What follows is how I typically do it but not in all cases.

98+: Go up two steps on the situation slide, to a maximum of Awesome
71-97: Go up 1 step on the situation slide, to a maximum of Awesome
30-70: Situation unchanged
3-29: Go down 1 step on the stuation slide to a minimum of dead
2- go down two steps on the situation slide to a minimum of dead

Current situation is gonna shift from bad to dire after I have written next update.

I hope to have done that before the end of the weekend, depends on whether inspiration strikes me.

Impeccable Interrogation Part 2

That guard makes me nervous, as in more nervous then simply being a human around me should cause, his presence feels angry.

"I... Admit to having snuck past your guards."

"Why were you so invested in this secrecy?"

"Because It doesn't have anything doing with humans, not really."

The guard twitches and tenses but a glare from the interrogator has him slink back to his prior state, I'm glad she did that. She looks back to me, her

"As if we'd believe that, if this had nothing to do with humans then you wouldn't have come here into the city."

"..... I-I was looking for another elf who'd gone missing that's all."

"Oh ho ho very interesting, however we will be taking you into custody until judgment can be passed on you for unlawful entry of the city."

"W-wait I'm sorry can't we -"

A burst of pain.... Now I'm on the floor all off a sudden and darkness creeps in on the edge of my vision.... I am being moved.... I think.....

............

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ow.... My head hurts.

I am lying on a bed in a barred cell, There is a small meal laid out next to the bed. I slowly look around my surroundings as I eat, I have bandages wrapped around my head, There is a bucket of water in one of the corners, the walls and floor appear to be wood, a hole in one of the floorboards reveals dirt underneath.

Now What?

[] Calmly wait until they decide how to punish you, simple trespassing is probably not worht a death penalty, right?
[] See if you can strike up a conversation with that sleeping man you just spotted in the cell opposite to yours. (Weighted 0,6)
[] That earth spirit is still following you right? See if you can try to immerse yourself in the astral realm and beg it for help.
[] You have bandages and there's water.... Isn't there supposed to be a bar bending trick involving those?

Finally done, suffered from some pretty mean writers block and forgetfulness but I finally got this update done!

[X] Calmly wait until they decide how to punish you, simple trespassing is probably not worth a death penalty, right?

Because this one seems the least likely to involve rolls.

Roll 3D100 for Punishment, drop the two lowest, this really was a pretty decent choice with how I had things in mind.

Here goes everything...

So highest is 85. Is... is that a good thing? I don't know if rolling high on a punishment is good or bad.

Puny Punishment

I just decide to wait calmly, they probably do not hand out death penalties to trespassers right? Either way avoiding aggravating them further with attempts at deceit or escape is probably best for me right now.

I don't know how long it took, but it felt like a very long time before I heard footsteps coming towards my cell. Finally someone is here, probably to take me to my punishment, or mayhaps they're here for other prisoners? I see several burly guards come, one of which opens my cell.

"Your punishment has been decided, come with me."

I follow the guard who opened my cell, the other guards open up the cell opposite of mine and I hear them move the wailing and thrashing man away, this doesn't exactly inspire confidence. I try not to show my apprehension and fear, at least my punishment probably won't be as terrible as what'll happen to that person, right?

He takes me outside and moves with me to another building pretty close by when we get there he explains.

"Since the worst you did was unlawful entering your sentence shall be light, you have been sentenced to three weeks* of manual labour."

"Ah, well that is..... Managable, thank you."

Freeze, thats an entire three weeks for the rail to grow colder, and for me to be cooped up with humans, unpleasant company, especially en masse.

I am taken into the building and have badge pinned to me, there are several other humans in there, no doubt some kinda unsavoury crooks.

Because dealing with strangers is bad enough. A bunch of strange humans who probably did something to be stuck here, all crammed into one tiny space? Let's not make our punishment even worse.

Gimee 1D100 for Aloof and 3D100 dropping the two lowest for Guards Reaction.
