Sensation 1.3: Lost In Space
[X] She was like a sister to me.
[X] A head of pink and blue hair.

You struggle to open your eyes, your thoughts blurry and head aching.

You can hear just fine though. You can hear two voices, one girl, one guy.

"March, what are you—oh my."

"Dan Heng, we need to help them!"

"Weak breathing and pulses—March, you'll need to do CPR."

"March" and "Dan Heng" seem to be a very…unique duo. Likely Pathstriders, or members of the security team.

"Alright, you get the gray haired girl, and I guess I'll take red hair over here," March says, "But do it quickly, ok? I don't really know how to do CPR!"

Ah, if she doesn't know how to do CPR…

You need to get up, now. If she's at least decently strong for a Pathstrider, those chest compressions are about to be chest crushes.

You groan. "Ah…no need to wake me up. I just got knocked out for a minute or so." As you slowly open your eyes, you see…

A lovely pink and blue girl who looks at you, surprised.

March 7th

A girl traveling with the Astral Express. She's lost her memories, and is searching for her past. Also tried to give you CPR, so that's certainly a notable introduction.

March jumps back. "Waah! You scared me!"

"Sorry about that, Ms. March," you cough, awkwardly, "I only just started to wake up when you and Mr. Dan over there started to talk about CPR."

The "Mr" in question turns to glance at you, before focusing once more on Stelle. He's dressed in green, and seems to be trying to…shake Stelle awake?

Dan Heng

A boy traveling with the Astral Express. He's running from his past, and is fairly calm and reclusive. Also the archivist of the Astral Express.

You glance at Stelle and immediately notice that she looks completely knocked out. But if you just woke up, she shouldn't be far behind.

"Hold up, you two, out of the way please." You push Dan and March aside, focusing on Stelle. You rub your hands together, and form a pink Spirit String, which is tied to your right pinky. Just one represents your power to connect with others, and a full staff's worth would be enough to gaze into someone's Inner World.

Considering that Kafka started this with her Spirit Whisper, your power should be able to reverse it.

You look back at March. "Both of you, I'm a Pterugean, so this should wake her up. If this doesn't wake Stelle up, however, I'm leaving it up to you two to pull me out from unconsciousness."

March looks perturbed. "Wait! Shouldn't you try something else? I mean, this is going too fast, and you really shouldn't try something like that on someone knocked out—

You just have one thing you can say right now. "It's the best thing we have on hand right now." The second you finish that sentence, you give a respectful nod to March, and immediately focus back on Stelle.

You put your hand on her neck, and focus.

The world dims. Your hearing dulls. And before you know it, you close your eyes, and you open them to blackness.

You look down, into the empty void that is Stelle's consciousness.

Every Pathstrider has an Inner World of sorts that represents their soul, some of them manifesting it when they activate their Ultimates. Your Spirit Sync, when pushed like this, can go into those worlds, your very souls, emotions and some thoughts being shared. But Stelle…doesn't seem to have one. Where there would be stars, floor, or sea, there is only void.

You look up, and you see Stelle, trapped by her arms in purple string: likely a representation of Kafka's Whisper.

And behind her—oh Xipe.

The Stellaron beats like a miniature sun, grown to twenty times its size. It is the heart of this World, the object around which everything else orbits.

This will need to be a rush job. Behind you, the string on your pinkie is still there, holding you to the outside.

You take that string, and push against it, the knot letting go. A lack of other gravity pulls you toward Stelle. You take her body, and yank.
Her eyes flutter open. "What's happening…?" She groans.

"I'm getting you out of here." You respond.

The Spirit String goes back to you, flung by an invisible command. It wraps around your pinkie, as you wrap your arms around Stelle. You take it, and fly out of the Inner World before the scorch of the Stellaron hits you again
.

As your eyes open, Stelle's do too. Behind you, March and Dan Heng gasp, surprised by her sudden awakening. You focus on Stelle, however.

"Alright, how many fingers am I holding up, Stelle?"

"Two?" She's correct. Next question.

"And what do you remember about Kafka and me?"

"I think that I knew her? And she might have mentioned you, a few times…"

Alright. That's good enough. You take Stelle's arm and together, you two get back up on your feet.

You take a good look at her. Despite having a fairly vacant look, you can see some of the cunning underneath that Kafka no doubt taught her.

Stelle

Kafka's old apprentice, and your new charge until Kafka's script says otherwise. A girl with incredible hidden potential, and a bit of a mischievous streak.

Dan Heng chimes in. "Excuse me, but can you explain what you just did? I believe I've seen that somewhere in the Astral Express's archives."

"It was my Spirit Sync," you respond, "it allowed me to get past some of the memory loss and mental trauma this girl had. She's essentially my niece anyways."

Technically you aren't lying, if you just omit the fact that it was easier to get past any trauma she may have had because Kafka erased it, and that she's only your niece (more like you're her godmother) because Kafka dropped her on you.

But well, it probably would be a good move not to mention Kafka considering she's wanted by roughly everyone in the galaxy.

"A Pterugean, then…" Dan Heng seems thoughtful.

March, however, seems a bit more engaged with the conversation. "Either way, we need to go. The Space Station just got attacked by the Antimatter Legion, and we came to help by the request of Lead Researcher Asta."

Stelle raises her hand, clearly still in a daze. "What's the Antimatter Legion?"

"What?"

March turns to you. "Is she ok?" She whispers, "I don't think that she should be missing that common knowledge, as a researcher here."

"She's not a researcher here," you whisper back, "she's my niece, I took her here while I was on a trip here for Herta. I think she's suffering from memory loss, so give her a break, ok?"

Again, that was all technically true, except for the "I took her here" part. It's more like she was taken to you.

March's expression turns sympathetic. "Amnesia, huh? That sucks. Hopefully she'll get better."
[Social Roll]
[Fairly close with March already. Auto pass.]

She's definitely known someone who's gone through amnesia before. She said that with too much familiarity with the subject to be anything else.

March turns back over to Stelle, and extends her hand. "Alright, then! What's your name?"

Stelle seems a bit surprised by the hand, but takes it. "I'm pretty sure it's Stelle."

"Ok, Stelle, let's go to the Master Control Zone up above. That's where all the other researchers and Asta are!"

Dan Heng goes to tap March on the shoulder. "Before we start going," he says, "I'll need to find Arlan on the upper floor. We lost connection with him a while back."

You look at him, before nudging Stelle over to his side. "Could you defend Stelle then, please? The elevator doesn't work, and you seem to be a fairly good fighter out of all of us here."

Stelle looks a bit confused, before shrugging and walking over to Dan. "I guess it would be good for me to stick with someone." she states nonchalantly.

"Dan, while you're up there, explain some stuff for Stelle, alright? Aeons, Paths, Factions, all that stuff. I really don't want to have to explain too much."

Dan Heng nods respectfully. "Alright then, Ms…"

"Shelley. I'm Shelley Marie, a retired Devil Hunter from Pteruges-V."

Dan Heng and Stelle run off together, as you turn to March 7th.

"By the way, who are you guys with again?"

March's look brightens up. "Oh! Me and Dan Heng are with the Astral Express, and we decided to help out with the rescue effort when we came here on one of our normal visits!"

Your eyes widen. The Astral Express? THE Astral Express known for carrying travelers and Trailblazers across the stars? The best space vessel of all time, formerly powered by a now deceased Aeon? THAT Astral Express?

You nod slowly. "Wow…must be awfully cool, all the things you get to see."

March nods enthusiastically. "Yup! Now c'mon, Dan Heng's going to get way ahead of us."

March runs up ahead. Now, you could just fly up using your Emanator side and leave behind everyone in the Sector, but there's no reason to just leave them in the dust. Besides, you're a fairly new Emanator, only a year in the bag so far. You'd much rather use your Devil Hunter powers instead of overextending your Emanator side and hurting yourself.

You two run through the sector at a brisk pace, March occasionally pointing out a few things here and there. Eventually however, trouble finds you, as it always does.

March is the first one to notice it, but you see it soon after. The Legion keeps on stalking around, and some mook soldiers block your path.

"Ah, it's the Antimatter Legion!" March says, "So these crazy jerks made it all the way here... Don't worry Ms. Shelley, watch this!"

March and the soldiers start charging at each other, but at the last second, March dodges, and fires an arrow made of ice straight into its face. You take the advantage given, by taking your trumpet and making a new dent in its face by bashing it in.

You keep moving, dodging and weaving through the blades, before playing a shrill note on trumpet. It sends a wide arc of fire through the battlefield, eliminating the remaining opponents.

"Wow Ms. Marie, you're a lot stronger than I thought you were!" March exclaims.

You grin, brushing aside your braids as you walk over to her. "Thanks, but I'm not that much older than you, so don't treat me like a grandma. Besides, I'm not a Devil Hunter for nothing."

You consciously choose to leave out the Emanator powers. People tend to treat you like you're above them when you say that, and you'd rather just be one of the people instead of their god.

You make it up to the elevator after that, and as you fruitlessly tap the control panel, March groans.

"Ah, I knew it—the Antimatter Legion must have broken it."

"That's possible," you respond, "I was riding in this elevator with Herta, but she's probably ditched that puppet body by now, and the elevator as well."

"Too bad Dan Heng's not here," March complains. "He's like a walking encyclopedia. He knows a ton of complicated stuff… maybe even elevator repair."

Just at that moment, Dan Heng and Stelle appear from behind. "Dan Heng doesn't know that one." Stelle dryly says.

"I don't know that one." Dan Heng repeats.

March is surprised. "Whoa! Why are you guys here?"

"While I was talking to Stelle," Dan Heng explains, "we took an upper route and saw you two from above."

"We saw that Security Captain guy, Arlan I think, and he was injured." Stelle says. "We should all get up there so that someone can help him."

"Alright then, what are we doing here?" March asks. "Let's go!"

You all go up, and there you see Arlan.

"Hey Arlan." You wave.

Arlan looks badly injured, his stomach having taken a few bad slashes. "Hello, Shelley."

If the others notice that you know each other, they don't show it. They then start talking, and you look over at Stelle. She's completely out of it, so you go to stand next to her while Arlan, March and Dan Heng start talking about what to do next.

(This one's a copy and pasted section from the game, because I couldn't figure out how Shelley or Stelle being there would make this conversation interesting at all. This won't happen much, trust me. Skip if you've already played or seen this quest.)

Arlan: Hey... you're all together?.

March 7th: Yep, we're from the Astral Express~

Arlan: Oh... Did Madam Herta send you to help?

Dan Heng: It's just a coincidence. We came to deliver the rare relic Herta trusted us to find... We didn't expect to arrive during an invasion.

March 7th: Why is the Antimatter Legion targeting you guys? It seems they just ignored the surface of the planet and came straight to the space station.

Arlan: I... have no idea. The Legion came at a very suspicious time…almost right after the security system suddenly failed.

Arlan: Lady... Lead Researcher Asta immediately began to organize the evacuation. I was supposed to cover everyone as they evacuated, but... I didn't expect to end up failing in this task.

Dan Heng: Don't be too hard on yourself. Your leg and dominant hand were injured. It was a wise decision to hide here and avoid a head-on encounter with the Legion.

March 7th: Yeah! Most of the staff have been evacuated safely, so right now our highest priority is to return to the master control zone and plan a counterattack! So... do you know how to use the elevator? I couldn't start it...

Arlan: After the evacuation was complete, the elevators were all shut down to keep the Legion away from the master control zone.

Arlan: Since Lady Asta sent you to look for me, I assume she must've given you the encryption key for accessing the elevator system?

March 7th: Oh, right, she did give me some sort of card...

Dan Heng: ...March...

March 7th: But where did I put it...

Arlan: You...

March 7th: Ah! Here it is!

Dan Heng:
Nothing you didn't know already, aside from the elevators being locked down on purpose. You already did suspect that Kafka had figured out how to break the security system to get into the station.

You really need to give her a good scolding for being so irresponsible later. It's gonna be a pain having to care for Stelle considering how much you travel.

Speaking of Stelle, you look over at her, and she's probably a minute from falling asleep. You give her a nudge. "Hey kid, wake up, we're going."

Stelle's eyes snap back into focus just as March, Dan Heng, and Arlan start booting up the repulsor bridges.

"Thanks, Ms. Shelley, I was spacing out there." Stelle's eyes look over into yours. "While we're talking, do you know anything about Kafka? I think before I went to sleep, she started talking to you…"

You twirl around one of your braids. "She's my friend: almost a sister to me, honestly. While I never heard of you before today, she told me to take care of you."

Stelle looks interested. "Do you know anything about why she put me here? She seemed to know what was going on way more than I did."

"Sorry kid," you say, "while Kafka's my friend, I don't know anything more about the Stellaron Hunters that she's with than you do."

Over in the background, the conversation finishes.

"Alright," Arlan groans out, "I'm coming with you."

"Make sure to not make that leg injury any worse than it is, ok?" You say.

Stelle chimes in. "You can use me as a crutch."

…yeah, she'll definitely be an odd kid. Why couldn't Kafka have trained someone normal?

…oh come on, you already know the answer to that question. It's Kafka, she'd never be "normal."

You all make your way down to the elevator, snagging a Light Cone for Stelle on the way, until you're at the edge of the platform once more.

"Is that it? We've reached the elevator already? That wasn't too many monsters~" March says cheerfully. However, her expression sours as she realizes.

"Oof, probably shouldn't have said that... Might bring bad luck."

"On Pteruges, we have an expression, speak of the Devils, and they shall appear." You comment.

And true to form, multiple Voidrangers from the Legion pop in. There's a concerning amount now, they likely increased how many they sent to account for you. At minimum, you count fifty.

"Everybody!" Dan Heng warns, "I think it's time to go."

It's because of you that everyone's in this situation. Now it's up to you to choose how to get of it.

Thanks to your choice last update, you have achieved Relationship Level 1 with March. (Thinks You're A Cool Adult)

[ ] Fight The Legion [DANGEROUS]

You did it well enough last time. But you didn't have an injury back then. But at the same time, you could stand to get closer with the Astral Express if you hold off the Legion together…

Note: this will have you coordinate all units for your first combat vote. Combat will be explained in the below tutorial box.

Combat
Since most rolls are fairly simple, combat is based on planning and narrative. You'll have to choose the tactics that each combatant will carry out, and then all of them will fight as a team. Your Primary Strategy will decide the main strategy for everyone to fall back on if their rolls fail or the enemy unleashes something you didn't plan for.

Combatants are broken up into three categories: Offense, Defense, and Support. As for You/Shelley, you have both offense and support, choosing someone to support will allow you to give Spirit Sync to one person, buffing both you and them for the duration of the fight. Shelley can both fight and support, but results will be better if you choose one.

[ ] Plan (Write In)
-[ ] Primary Strategy (Write In)

You
-[ ] Shelley will… (Write In)
—[ ] Shelley supports…(Write In, March or Stelle recommended)

Defense
-[ ] March will… (Write In)

Offense
-[ ] Stelle will… (Write In)
-[ ] Dan Heng will… (Write In)

[ ] Run

Don't just stand there, Shelley! If March 7th's friend is telling you to run, run! Slap that elevator button and move!
Remember when I said you'd get some combat in the next update? I may have miscounted. If you want a cool fight, go over to the side story for the Knight I posted last update. Sorry. Ok, back to chapter discussion.

In case you're still confused about Inner Worlds, they're not canon, it's just my way of explaining the random stuff that pops up during the Ultimates in the game. See Asta's Ultimate (the stars are just…there?) and Jing Yuan's (manifests a storm on command I guess) to see what I'm talking about. Going into them will also be the way Shelley's powers manifest in certain scenes, so watch out for that.

Stelle acts like a bit less of a mannequin thanks to Shelley's Spirit Ability sort of counteracting Kafka's. This basically serves to make her into less of a random amnesiac during the first arc, because otherwise she just mostly acts dazed and confused for the first part. She also has a few vague memories about Kafka…that may come up later.

And finally, I tried to make this update fun, but it's the tutorial mission. If there is any way to make this update better, please tell me, because I've got no clue.

Sensation 1.4: Void Space
[X] Fight The Legion [DANGEROUS]
[X] Plan Testudo Formation
-[X] Primary Strategy: Focus on overwhelming defense, and then pick off members of the Legion when they get too close.
-[X] Shelley will Support
—[X] Shelley supports March
-[X] March will focus on keeping shields up, maybe freeze an enemy here or there if they're planning something
-[X] Stelle will spread out the damage she's dealing, going for the most amount of damage she can rather than kills.
-[X] Dan Heng will take down the enemies weakened by Stelle.

The space between you and the Voidrangers lessens, empty space quickly being replaced by gaping maws and armored soldiers.

It takes you about five seconds to plan out your plan. Your Devil Hunt trained brain tunes out everything else, only focusing on a way out of the situation.

Realistically, it might not work, there's too many extra things you can't account for, too many enemies, too little camaraderie.

But then, you look over at the others.

Arlan is on the ground, so he can't do much, but the others…you know they have a chance.

March is one of the sweetest girls you've ever met, with a heart of gold and a bow arm of steel.

Stelle might be strange, but if Kafka taught her, she must have the same bravery that you know Kafka has.

And if you can trust Stelle around him, Dan Heng's probably cool.

"Dan Heng! Stelle!" you yell, "Focus down the enemies and spread out respectively! There's too many enemies to run away from!"

Dan Heng and Stelle look at each other and then at you, before nodding. They immediately both jump up, and bash their bat and spear into armored soldiers.

Stelle swings her bat into a wide arc, focusing more on hitting as many targets as possible, than any kind of focus. Her powers of Destruction have a clear effect, the lightning on the bat becoming pure kinetic energy. The swarm is knocked back, slamming into each other in a chain of human(?) dominoes.

She focuses her hands, clearly preparing for a huge blow. She tenses up, charges her bat, dousing it in Destruction, before declaring her resolution clearly.

"Rules are…meant to be broken!" And with that, she slams her bat into the Legion, breaking up their formation and slamming them into the walls. The Legion's carefully placed soldiers look close to breaking, and they almost leave craters in the walls.

Also, "rules are meant to be broken?" If you had any doubt as to whether or not she knew Kafka, it's gone, dead in the ground. That's exactly the kind of thing she'd say.

Dan Heng follows it up, with his spear piercing through each weakened enemy, taking them out as they hit the walls. He dodges with inhuman grace, before putting a quick stab through each Voidranger's head, putting them out of their misery.

He focuses on a huge four legged Legion soldier, likely their general. For a second the world freezes—

And the scenery shifts, into autumn trees and a white sky that reflects his Inner World. He moves his arm back, and readies up his body, locked onto the Legion's general.

And with one, invisible cue, he dashes straight through.

"This sanctuary is but a vision—break!"

And with one quick stab, the Legion general and the sanctuary vanish like a bad dream.

And five to fifteen more Legion pop in to take its place. They replace the space that the other Legion took, seeming to replace it like nothing even left. All of them seem to focus exclusively on your group, instead of any researchers.

"No," you think with horror, "they're here for me specifically. I'm the Emanator here; they see me and the Express as the clear greatest threat."

Dan Heng and Stelle are pushed back by an unending tide, their weapons serving as weak makeshift barricades.

"March! Shelley!" Dan Heng yells out. "Support us over here!"

You don't miss a beat—a quick laser shot directed at your head is dodged with grace, and you respond in kind with a fire bolt from your trumpet.

You put your hand on March's shoulder and grip tightly.

"March, I'm a Harmony Pathstrider." You say, trying your best to maintain your calm for this next part. "Let me support you, so that we can resist the next wave."

Tutorial: Spirit Sync Levels

Spirit Sync has different levels as to how much it enhances you and your allies. It is determined by a combination of Relationship Level, the level of effort Shelley is using, and whether Emanator/Aeon powers are being used. It's then subtracted by one. Let's have a look!

Level 0: A mild enhancement, shared between both of you. Needs fairly close proximity (10 ft) to work, which is why Shelley didn't use this one Arlan.
+3 to rolls concerning what is trying to be supported, so usually Physical.

Levels 1-2: A vaguely visible, red-orange fiery aura is visible between the user and receiver, and their attacks are coordinated. A Spirit String also connects their pinkies, though it becomes invisible and intangible after a few inches.
Above buff becomes +4-5, and both partners get advantage (roll two dice, take higher amount) on their rolls. Also enhances Pathstrider abilities at 2.

Levels 3-4: At this level, Shelley could easily go into the receiver's Inner World, as well as vice versa. The aura effect is now visibly pronounced to anyone who can see. At Level 3, emotions start being shared, and at Level 4, the partners can read each other's thoughts. (Only on a level of absurdly good coordination, no direct mental messages.)
Above dice buff is now +6-7, and one time during Spirit Sync, a roll buffed by dice effects becomes considered as a forced Nat 20. May have an effect on story and relationships.

Level 5: ???
This will be revealed later…

March turns to meet you, and nods. "Alright, let's go, Ms. Shelley!"

"Please, just call me Marie!"

Right as you say that, your Spirit Sync roars to life, its power unleashed. The sound of fire rushes to your ears, and you put your hands together.

[March 7th Relationship Level (1) + Shelley Effort Level (2, Main Focus of Plan)-1=2]
[Spirit Sync Level 2!]

You put your hands out, as March 7th shoots out a barrage of icy arrows. "March! Everything into defense!"

March nods, and swings her arms in an arc, before pointing up. You follow her practiced motions, your arms lighting up pink and red respectively.

You say it together. "With us out here, how can we lose!?"

A multitude of star shaped shields surround the group, and everyone gathers around, their backs to each other. Arlan's in the middle, now swinging his sword wildly as the shield protects him as well.

The Legion charges in, but every single one of their blades bounces off. No—their blades and lasers sink in, but your combined shields make them feel like tickles. Stelle and Dan Heng continue their assault, following the same general strategy as before.

Meanwhile, you and March 7th keep on counter attacking the second each enemy gets close, freezing and immediately melting the enemies as they raise their blades.

The individual shields are more of a comprehensive shell around the group now. It's like a Tesludo-Testuro? Testudo formation; you learned about those in history class.

March groans. "Hey! You meanies! Haven't you heard it's rude to gang up on someone?"

You wipe a bead of sweat off your brow—just because Spirit Sync seriously buffs combat ability, doesn't mean that it's flawless. You can only keep up the group wide shield for so long. "Don't worry March, we just need to hold out, and they'll tire themselves out!"

…you seriously aren't sure if you believe your own words anymore.

Just before you fall down from exhaustion, March reapplies her shield, which gives you just enough time to catch your breath. You notice the constant stream of Legion is starting to slow down.

"Alright, they're exhausted everybody! We just need an opening!" you say, muscles and bones aching.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a weaponized drone appears! It slashes through all the lower level Legion soldiers, before dazing the Legion's general. You guess that the reinforcements have arrived, after all.

It comes to a stop in front of you, drawing the attention of the general.

"I think that'll do it!" Stelle says.

"Go!" Dan Heng yells, leading the group over to the elevator. You all get on, and you slap the elevator button as March fires one last arrow to dissuade the Legion from coming any closer.

Five minutes late, you all are limping into the Master Control Zone, exhausted but proud.

[Your Reputation Level with the Astral Express has grown to 1!]
[Your Relationship Level with Dan Heng and Arlan has grown to level 1! Your Relationship Level with Stelle and March 7th is getting closer to 2…]

A red haired woman looks up at you. "Good to see you all got here," she says, sipping her coffee calmly. "Why does it always have to get this exciting?"

"Whew, Himeko~ What took you so long!" March complains. "We had to fight off all those Legion like they were locusts! Have you ever had to shoot locusts with a bow?"

You quickly put your hand on March's mouth; it wouldn't do to have unnecessary conflict right now, right after you just fought off about fifty different soldiers.

"Please don't listen to March, she's just a bit worked up from having to do so much fighting. My name's Shelley, she's Stelle…" Stelle waves.

"And your name is?"

The woman waves at you and Stelle. "Hey, nice to meet you two. I'm Himeko, navigator of the Astral Express."

Himeko

The navigator and the one who fixed up the Astral Express. A woman who is always exploring new frontiers.

"And as for March's question," Himeko replies, "I wouldn't have made too much of a difference. My orbital cannon can deal with a whole bunch of enemies at once, but I can't just blow up the space station—Herta would NOT like that."

She has a W H A T. You've gotta ask her about the casual orbital cannon she just has.

She turns to Arlan, who looks like he's about to collapse. "Are you ok?" She asks, "Asta's been worried about you."

"I'm fine, a quick patching up will do," Arlan hurriedly mutters. "Thanks for asking. I'll report the situation to Lead Researcher Asta immediately. Bye."

He then goes off to the medbay, or to wherever sad, self sacrificial injured boys go to brood and groan.

Himeko turns back to you and Stelle, an expectant look in her eyes. "By the way, March wasn't too much trouble for you two, right?"

You talk first. "She's a great girl! I helped her out back when we were fighting the Legion. What do you think, Stelle?"

"Stelle, think carefully about how you wanna reply to that." March warns, a clear annoyance in her tone.

Stelle looks a bit surprised from being put on the spot. She looks at March, and seems to study the girl she was fighting alongside. After a moment of deliberation, she speaks.

"She defended us against the Legion, so I'm glad for that, but I've never met a more energetic girl before in my life."

March jumps back and puts a hand to her chest, faux insulted. "...That's just my charm! And I didn't cause any trouble. You just have to get used to me... Look, Dan Heng agrees, right?"

The man in question looks up from a book, with a look saying "leave me out of this." His response implies about the same.

"I have the right to remain silent."

Himeko laughs pleasantly. "Look at you all, you've already gotten really close."

She gestures to you to come over to the front of the room. "Come on, Asta has been worried about all of you."

Oh crud, you forgot to end that conversation with Asta before running off because of the Spirit Whisper. You should really explain yourself.

As you walk up to her, Asta seems both extremely focused and stressed. "Projectile radar tracking, normal. Telemetry signal frequency unusually high! Maintain at normal levels!"

She clicks a few buttons, activating a few switches, before speaking into the intercom. "Our measurements predict that the Legion is about to unleash over ten waves of continuous attacks. Everyone, brace yourselves!"

The floor shakes and rumbles, but the space station stabilizes in a heartbeat. You all breathe a sigh of relief.

March waves over to Asta. "Asta! We're back!"

Asta steps back from her control console, seemingly relieved as well. "Whew, I'm glad you're all back safe. Arlan just told me about the situation at the storage zone."

"And about his injury... Thank you, for all your help."

She then spots you, over in the back. "Oh! Ms. Shelley! I haven't seen you since this disaster started! I imagine you were able to handle yourself, considering you are a Em-"

You cut off Asta on that last part of that sentence, shaking your head over in the back of the group, where only she can see you. You'd much rather the Astral Express hear out your story on your own terms, thank you very much!

"-ployee of the space station!" Asta awkwardly finishes. "A contractor that we hired specifically for cases like this, yes."

Dan Heng ignores the awkward conversation you two are having, and just gets straight to the point.

"What is the current situation on the space station?" He asks.

Asta sighs, she's visibly exhausted by now. "The situation is under control for now: The damage to our security system was minor. The intruder only managed to alter a small amount of data, so it was easy to fix."

Asta puts down her hand she was holding up, and she sits down, practically drained by now.

"The real problem lies with the researchers... They trust Madam Herta wholeheartedly and never thought that the space station would be breached by the Legion. A broken spirit is far worse than a broken body."

Himeko decides that it's about time for her to take a break, and addresses the Astral Express.. "Everyone, Shelley, Stelle, go speak with the researchers. Right now, the space station can't afford any more unexpected turns, especially from within."

Himeko turns back to Asta. "Have you tried contacting Herta?"

"I sent multiple letters, all met with silence. You know her, Himeko, the space station is but a mere warehouse for followers and rare items. She doesn't really care about it."

You did get the impression that Herta only cared about her scientific research over others earlier. Hearing a confirmation from someone else only serves to support your impression.

Himeko sighs. "I knew it... No matter. I'll also end a letter to Herta and tell her that we've brought the rare item she seeks. At least that might get her attention."

"That would be of great help, thank you Ms. Himeko."

Asta turns away, as March and Dan Heng go over to help out the space station's inhabitants. Looks like the conversation is over for now.

Now for the hard part. You've got to do a bit to help out as well. And you've also got to decide…

Do you want to tell the Astral Express about your status as a new Emanator? Or should you just keep that a secret, since you don't want them treating you differently? They seem accepting, but are you sure about that?

Either way, you'd rather not do anything that would hurt anybody, but life's just too complicated sometimes.

Ah well Shelley, you'll figure it out in time. Decisions, decisions…

Free Roam Segment!
Tutorial: Free Roam Segments
Sometimes there are segments of the actual game where you're just intended to grind and do side quests, while waiting for the next update. Free Roam segments are supposed to represent these segments, while also giving Shelley and Stelle a much needed breather. Here's how it works:

You have a set number of AP (Action Points), usually 4, but that can be affected by the situation. They can each be spent (in plan form) on as many choices from one of four Categories. These categories are:

Exploration: General opportunities, that can stay or go depending on the location or time. These can give various buffs or debuffs, and it's a fairly safe choice. Also, write-ins are permitted here.

Improvement: Gain experience towards improving one to two stats of your choice, and maybe a short term benefit.

Bonding: Gain Relationship Level or progress towards another Relationship Level with a character in the area.
Special note: Since you took the Perk [Revelation from Above] your Harmony perk of being able to socialize with others has been enhanced! You get an extra free action for this category only, each Free Roam segment.

Continuances: Representative of the Trailblaze Continuances of the actual game, these adventures take place after the main story of each planet, and will likely have a mini-arc (2-4 updates) dedicated to them. Usually have pretty good benefits, but you guys can choose to put them off until later if you wish.
[ ] Plan (Write In)
3 AP available. (You're under time constraints thanks to the disaster right now, so there goes an action.)
Exploration:
-[ ] Help out the researchers.
Short Term Benefit: May make your rolls in the next few updates a bit better, now that you've got some motivation to help.

-[ ] Get your Injuries treated.
Removes [Injury] temporary flaw.

-[ ] Help the Security Department exterminate the Legion on the floors below. (Combat)
Short Term Benefit: May make the coming fights a bit easier.
—[ ]
What's your combat strategy?

-[ ] Do something else. (Write In, subject to QM veto if unrealistic.)

Improvement:
(Two choices in this section maximum)

-[ ] Prepare for the coming fights. (Physical)
Short Term Benefit: Gives a small modifier to Physical rolls next combat.

-[ ] Spend some time socializing with the inhabitants of the station. (Social)

-[ ] Spend some time reviewing combat strategy with Arlan. (Mental)
Short Term Benefit: Might give you an idea of what the Legion's planning.

-[ ] Ask Asta about the technology of the space station. (Technical)

Bonding:
(You have one extra Free Action for this category of action.)
-[ ] Hang out with…

Astral Express:
—[ ] …March 7th.
—[ ] …Dan Heng.
—[ ] …Himeko.
—[ ] …Stelle.

Herta Space Station:
—[ ] …Arlan.
—[ ] …Asta.
—[ ] …Herta. She's not here at the moment.

Continuances:
(No time for being sidetracked! You've got a space station to help out!)

And finally, what are you going to do about revealing your status as an Emanator?

[ ] Just tell the Express, dammit!
-May as well rip off the bandage.
-They seem like a fairly accepting group, after all.

[ ] (0.75) Keep it on the down low for now…
-You'd much rather not have them depend on you…
-(Weighted vote) But at the same time, it would hurt to lie to people you already trust.

Tutorial: Weighted Votes
Sometimes, a choice will come up where for in-character reasons, Shelley's seriously opposed or disposed to doing it.

In these cases, the number of votes will be either multiplied or divided by a certain number. For example, since Shelley doesn't like lying to people she trusts, the number of votes for that (say, 4) would be multiplied by 0.75. (So it would go to 3.)

Just because a vote is weighted differently, does not mean that the QM is pushing you toward or away from those actions. It just means that doing so will change Shelley's character, as what she's doing is different from what she'd normally do.

Vote in plan format, please.
6 Hour Moratorium.

Author's Note: What a doozy of a chapter. Introducing three new mechanics is never fun, but I hope they all make sense, and flesh out the gameplay of this quest.

You guys did well on the combat! Two good rolls helped out, but you all managed to get one of the win conditions for the fight: wait until Himeko gets there. (For reference, the other one was to smack the Legion general into oblivion, likely with Stelle's help.) Kudos to @CryoIce , and good luck on his Quest.

Spirit Sync was one of those things where I was wondering if it was too powerful. However, I eventually decided on the same reasoning, as the devs, as to why characters like Acheron and Welt are so powerful.

"They're extremely powerful Emanators or on that same level in the lore; they should feel powerful in gameplay as well."

Thank you for reading, and as always, remember to react with a like and vote, and make sure to discuss your thoughts on the current situation in the Quest.

First Meeting
The name's Shelley Marie, I'm a Emanator of Harmony and retired Devil Hunter—but you already knew that, Stelle.
Greeting
Another day of helping others. That's what'll make up this productive day.
Parting
A nice day, but all good songs come to an end. Let's get back on the Express.
About Self: Music
If Devil Hunting hadn't worked out, one of my plans for the future was being one of those street performers, playing my trumpet on the street side.
About Self: Weapon
Word of advice: those who follow Xipe can make any tool of music a tool of violence.
Chat: Devil Hunters
We did good things in the name of evil, we did bad things for good. But that life wasn't for me.
Chat: Visiting an Aeon
What was seeing Xipe like? Imagine the best meteor shower ever…now make that a hundred times cooler.
Hobbies
Helping others is the best use of my time. But if you're talking about personal matters, it's learning new songs on trumpet or saxophone.
Annoyances
Listen, we're both not sure how you're related to Kafka, but she really needs to pay her child support if she's related to you how I think she might be.
Something to Share
I usually spend some down time playing music on the streets of whatever planet I go to. In general, people just put credits into my pocket when I do so.
Knowledge
Xipe may preach Harmony, but don't believe that Harmony is always peaceful. THEIR gaze can also be burning to the evildoers.
About Stelle
You're a star child: you've got big things ahead of you. Don't forget that.
About March 7th
She's energetic, but don't dismiss her. She's already a well experienced trailblazer.
About Dan Heng
I wish I knew more about him, but for now he's just another crew member on the Express.
About Himeko
She's very smart. But just where did she get that orbital cannon?!

About Kafka
We might not have been born that way or lived that way. But I really think she's my sister from another mother.
Eidolon Activation
To even further frontiers of Harmony…
Character Ascension
I shouldn't be slacking off on training. What would the other Devil Hunters be thinking if they saw me?
Max Level Reached
We've reached a new limit. I hope we can keep playing on for a long time.
Trace Activation
My songs are sounding more melodic by the day!
Added to Team With Stelle
Let's dance, Stelle!
Added to Team With March 7th
We can make new memories together, March 7th. Here; I'll show you my music.
Added to Team With Dan Heng

Poll On Genshin Closed
If you're reading this, the "yes or no on Genshin characters" has come to an exact tie. So, I will be making a compromise. I will have au versions of Genshin characters, but they will not be used as filler. They will all be characters who interact well with the main characters. Let me explain.

Multiple people dislike Genshin's story. Now I'm talking about the whole thing, because you've got things like Fontaine Archon Quest, which is peak all the way through. But do you know why they hate it?

Because a lot of Genshin's story is conveyed through exposition; through Paimon. And people hate that, and for good goddamn reason! When information is being fed to you via exposition instead of natural character moments, it feels bad in large qualities.

If I had to use a metaphor, it's the difference between eating microwave meals and cooking something good. Yes, the microwave meals are easy to make and will get you from point a to b without your stomach crying in pain, but actually cooking up a meal will make sure that you won't die from malnourishment and have to eat bland crap the whole time.

Paimon feels more like a mouthpiece for lore, and people don't just come to Genshin for that! They come for the dynamics and arcs between the characters.

Take the dynamic between Navia and Neuvilette for example!
One's a normal human who had her father die because of an unfinished case, while the other's the judge of that case and the whole nation, who due to being a dragon, doesn't understand human emotion. Understandably, when Neuvilette seems to not care about her father's death, it really affects Navia, which sets off a character arc for them both!

When Navia finishes her quest to find justice, she meets up with Neuvi at her father's grave. And you really get a sense of how they both changed. Neuvilette says that he understands Navia's grief now, and that he wants to make sure he and Navia's organization (the spina di rosula) can work together so that no more unneeded tragedies can happen again. He's more willing to work with and understand humans.

And Navia's found closure, and she's learned to forgive Neuvilette, because she was never actually angry at him, she just angry because she could never get over her grief. But now that she's resolved her problems, she wants to live up to her father's legacy, instead of just being shadowed and mired in it.
That's a good character arc and interesting dynamic all at once!

By the way, that was in the first half of the Fontaine quest. The weaker half.

So when I involve any Genshin characters, they will play off the HSR characters in interesting ways.

I'm talking about Baizhu, someone who wants to seek immortality so that no one gets hurt, and Blade and Jingliu, characters who were hurt by the curse of immortality, of being lonely!

I'm talking about Lisa, who lost part of her lifespan seeking knowledge and chose to become a normal librarian instead of an academic, and Dr. Ratio and Ruan Mei, who keep on chasing after more and more knowledge, but can't acknowledge who detached they are from other humans!

Every single Genshin character won't be filler. They'll have their own character arcs and dynamics, they'll fit into the universe, with the HSR characters being affected in turn.

Is that a good enough compromise for everyone?

Omake 1.0: Child Support
Inspired by the jokes going around. Takes place during the first cutscene before the Luofu. If you enjoyed this, remember to like and leave a vote!

Kafka stands over in the Astral Express's main room, standing there infuriatingly (well, as close as she can be to "standing there" as a hologram) smug.

Well, it would be infuriating if you could feel that emotion. Right now, you've just got something to clear up.

She's just been talking for…how long now? Five minutes straight about how the Express needs to go to the Luofu to do something and clear the Stellaron Hunters' names. Which, in and of itself already sounds ridiculous.

Himeko seems doubtful, like she has been for the entire encounter. It's almost like she's known Kafka before—which sounds improbable, but considering how many ex-girlfriends your dear sister has had, it's not impossible.

"And your companion, Blade…" Himeko says, a cautious tone on the word companion, "He'll die as well."

"No comment." Kafka responds, shrugging. "If you guys want to find me, here are the coordinates~"

Alright. That's enough.

You push apart the holographic coordinates appearing in the air, and you approach Kafka.

"Shelle-"

"Kafka," you say, exasperated, "You already know that I'm definitely going to the Luofu, because I can't let all those people die. So in exchange, at least flag down your boss and see if I can ask one thing of you."

Kafka looks away for a second, and seems to look at some unknown figure on the other end of the hologram. Likely Elio. Then she nods. "What is it, Shelley?"

You take a deep breath. It is absolutely imperative that you ask this question. It is almost as important as seeing Xipe, almost as important as not being chased by your enemies. You need to put your utmost attention into this.

[Social Roll]
[…]
[Nat 20!]

You point at Stelle.

"Why. Haven't. You! Been paying your child support!?"

Kafka visibly chokes on air, and her eyes widen. "What?!?"

The rest of the Express explodes into conversation, and notably, Himeko and Stelle look shocked.

Himeko stares at Kafka, visibly surprised. "Excuse me, Stelle's your what!?"

Kafka is visibly…not flustered, but surprised would be a good descriptor. She coughs into her palm, trying to remedy the situation. "Excuse me, since when did you think that I need to pay that?"

You rub your temples. "Since…since you left her in my care and admitted that you had taught her and known her for a while?"

Kafka looks visibly like she'd prefer the ground to open up whole and swallow her.

"Also," you continue, "I know for a FACT thanks to Topaz that you guys over at the Stellaron Hunters have good credit. If you can pay taxes, you can pay for your girl's education."

"Um-" both Himeko and Kafka try and interject.

"And you have REASON to pay the support, considering you left the kid in the divorce you CLEARLY had with Himeko," you yell, while pointing like a madwoman at the redhead in question, "so pay up, please, or I'll send Silver Wolf your baby pictures."

Kafka visibly gestures to someone on her side of the camera to shut the feed. "Uh, I guess we can't work this out…" she murmurs, "I guess I'll put some money for Stelle in the shared bank account…"

Kafka anticlimatically disappears into light, her hologram going as soon as it came.

There is silence in the Astral Express.

Then both Himeko and Stelle speak.

"…I never got married to Kafka, though."

"Kafka's my MOM!?"

…oh dear, you've jumped to conclusions again, haven't you?

Dan Heng walks out of his bedroom, and immediately walks back inside, not wanting to put up with your bullshit.

Get your Injuries treated.

It's a long, long walk to the medbay. Unlike what you assumed, Arlan is nowhere to be found in any of the white beds. Some nurses run around, but they're occupied.

[Rolling for random encounters…]
[Oh, that's interesting.]

Instead, a woman with blonde hair is sitting on a chair, scratching out names on a clipboard. She seems to be intensely focused on her work, as other nurses rush here and there to treat the injured.

You wave to get her attention. "Hello there?"

The girl shifts, then snaps to attention. "Oh! Sorry. Please lie down on the bed next to me."

You lie down, and you look over at the girl. "It's nice to meet you, Ms…"

"Jean. Call me Jean."

A young nurse working in the medbay of the space station. About to heal your injuries.

"Now," she says, "where does it hurt?"

"Everywhere?"

"Please be more specific. If your whole body is a 9 when it comes to pain, where is it at 10?"

You consider that for a second. Then you remember the multiple incidents that landed you here.

"Bullets of Destruction slam into your face, knocking you to the ground and giving you a splitting headache. You hit the floor, and you don't miss the taste of blood running down your tongue."

"And your face slams into the ground. While your ability to call up a small troupe's worth of brass instruments to use is helpful, maybe pole vaulting isn't the greatest idea."

"Probably my head." You grimace. "My limbs also blocked a few too many attacks."

"Yes, I know the feeling," Jean says. "Hold right there, I'll be getting some medicine for you."

She turns around, her black outfit providing a contrast to the white gowns and walls of the space station.

Wait a minute. Her black outfit? The only people who wear that outfit in this space station are-

"Hey!" you call out. "Shouldn't you be working with the security here?"

Jean walks back up to you. "So you figured it out? Yes, I'm usually one of the security guards here." She wraps one of your legs in-OH XIPE THAT HURTS-in a cast, then continues.

"Madam Asta said that my talents would be better spent working in the infirmary, since there aren't that many qualified medical workers on staff."

"Well, that's pretty interesting, and it explains your outfit." you say. "Anything else I should know before you go back to focusing on your work?"

"Well," she ponders, "my girlfriend Lisa might be coming over here soon with the Inteligencia Guild…"

[Relationship Level 0 reached with Jean!]
[Injury flaw has been removed. Character Sheet updated.]

Ask Asta about the technology of the space station. (Technical)

You walk out of the medbay considerably more refreshed. Asta made the right decision assigning Jean to help out with the injuries-all the other nurses were occupied.

Speaking of Asta, you've got something to check up with her on.

"Hey! Asta!" You wave over to the pink haired scientist, who seems fairly exhausted. She raises her head from the table she's been sitting at, and looks at you wearily.

"Hey there, Shelley. I've been trying to figure out how to fix this security system." She gestures at a blueprint, which seems to be marked heavily with a red pen.

You sit down with her. "What's the problem?" You ask.

She gestures at the blueprint, waving her hands at the blueprint like she's trying to wave it away. "Well, everything."

"Look at these bridges," Asta says, "they're supposed to be the security system, but it isn't really doing anything to help."

She points at a few key bridges. "When the station is in danger, a few key bridges appear to help the researchers escape. But the ones that are turned off to make sure any criminals can't get in-they can just be turned on by the same criminals."

Looking at the blueprint some more, you crinkle your brow in frustration. At this rate you'll be getting another headache soon. Kafka probably didn't even have any trouble getting into the space station. It would have been like breaking into a house with the owner away and the door closed but unlocked.

Asta groans, and her head lands back on the table. "And this doesn't even account for flight capable entities, like some of the Legion! You're an Emanator, Shelley. You've done your fair share of fights. Surely, you can figure out how this could be better."

You look at the blueprint, and rack your mind…

[Evaluation Mental Check; Average]
[+3 Good Skill]
[+2 Asta's Notes]

[…1. Critical Fail.]

These checks have the already seen difficulty to pass them, but they also get extra bonuses for each threshold of difficulty they roll above the base difficulty. (Every 3-5 more)
…Of course, this doesn't apply here, considering you guys just rolled a Nat 1.

You look at the blueprint for a few seconds. Then you just throw it over to the other side of the table, because it's barely even able to be called a "security system." It's barely even able to be a bridge system-if the bridges break or change mid walk, everyone on them's just screwed! It protects nothing! It's an insult to security!

Geez, and you thought the anti-homeless spikes on Pteruges-V was hostile architecture…

At least you know what not to do now, when designing something. But knowing that this is just the tip of bad tech design… honestly, you'd just rather not have to deal with these types of things.

[Your frustration boils over when dealing with tech or controlling your movements! -3 to the next 3 Technical checks!]
[0/2 progress to Decent Technical Skill. Sorry!]

Your head slams into your hands. "How…how the hell did Arlan approve of this?!"

Asta groans as well. "He didn't. The security systems are designed by Herta. Apparently, she thinks us non-Geniuses are fooled by these bridges and puzzles."

Well, at least you two are bonded in your frustration. You get up, pull your hands out of your hair, and nudge Asta.

"C'mon. We're going to get a snack."

Hang out with Asta.

There aren't many things to worry about inside of the Master Control Zone, but that doesn't stop Asta.

"Do we have time for this? The researchers are all still being evacuated, and we're still being attacked by the Antimatter Legion…"

"Don't sweat it," you say, "you've already announced enough orders for the next system hour."

You walk up to the vending machine, and look through the options. Asta pushes you aside however, when you go to put in your credits. "It's my turn to pay. It'll be fine."

The amount of credits that she goes to put in… is truly staggering.

Holy Xipe! You think. That's enough for a hotel stay! And she's using that on snacks?

"Hey… that's a lot of money to be spending on snacks. Are you sure about that?"

Asta turns to you, as suddenly a mini avalanche of snacks starts spilling out of the vending machine. "It's fine, I've got a lot of money to spend."

You pick up some M&Ms from the floor, and turn back over to Asta. "I was wondering, how did you get to be the lead researcher here? I don't think I've seen any big research papers, so you must be really tenured or something."

Asta looks at you. "I'll tell you, if you tell me about how you became an Emanator."

[Evaluation Social Check; Average]
[+5 Great Skill]
[+2 Shared Frustration]
[13+7=20; Challenging Success!]

You've really got to think about that for a second.

"Well, it started out about 2 years ago. I was living on Pteruges, and I took an invitation from a Family member who crash landed there to go to his home planet, which was a warp jump of two away."

You shrug.

"From there, I found my passion was…helping people. Making sure I remembered how to empathize and connect with others, which I couldn't do while I was caught up in the Devil Hunter rat race."

"I guess not being able to feel hate helped as well."

"Hate? Not anger?" Asta asks.

"Please," you laugh, "that security blueprint made me about as angry as I can be."

"But after some time with my mentor, I broke off on my own, and then I guess Xipe sought to reward me for doing what I always wanted to do."

Asta smiles, and you take the opportunity to ask her your question. "So now that I've talked about some of my past, what about yours?"

Asta finishes eating a Kit-kat, and she looks at you. She seems fairly open to conversation after hearing your story.

"My story's a lot less inspirational than yours. I was born to the Megustis, and since I was the oldest child, I was expected to be an IPC executive."

"Expectations, huh." You respond. "I didn't get to know my parents for very long, so I've always wondered what having something like that to aim for from a young age is like."

Asta scoffs. "It's not all it's cracked up to be. Everyone just saw me as the rich princess, who got everything that she wanted. Thankfully, Herta picked me up, and I got to get into my real hobby, astronomy."

Another alarm goes off, and you groan. "It's about that time again. We should get back to our jobs."

You start to get up, but Asta stops you. "Wait, could you stop for a moment?"

You look back at her. "Yes?"

Asta pulls out a suitcase from under the table. "I didn't think I'd be giving you this so early, but when I heard an Emanator was coming over, I wanted to give you a gift."

"Really, helping me when I got those nasty injuries is enough of a gift-"

"No, no, I insist."

(QM note: Since they aren't Astral Express characters, you'll be getting small to decent rewards at lower thresholds from characters who stay on one planet/location. I wasn't expecting you to get this reward until later, but the 20 from your high Social stat pulled through.)

She opens the suitcase, and you see…

[ ] A "few" credits.
The amount of money in the gift and credit cards contained within is truly obscene, though not enough to say, buy a house. Asta smiles. "It's a decent portion from one of my bank accounts."
If this is decent, you don't want to know how much is a lot…

[You may be able to use this to bribe people, or buy things in later shops. It's a considerable amount of investment capital.]

[ ] A Light Cone.
It's a beautiful Light Cone, and while it isn't personalized like you thought it would be, it shines with the Harmony. It glows and shows the image of a certain person you studied as a follower of Harmony. Asta looks at it alongside you.
"It might be a bit tacky, but I thought it would be cool if you had the image of one of your predecessors to help you out."

[Gain your first Light Cone, a powerful accessory that can be used when voted for.]

Tutorial: Light Cones
Each light cone gives both a few buffs and debuffs, and they come broken up into three parts. Let me explain.

A Light Cone is a broken up memory, distilled by those following Remembrance that gives power to those of their respective Path. When voted for, at any time, a Light Cone will start giving its effects for its Duration, which is measured in turns (read: updates.)

Afterwards, it has a cooldown, which recharges when no Light Cone is being used.

Each Light Cone has a Rarity, (3-star, 4-star, ect.) which determines how many positive effects it has, and how long its cooldown is.

Usage of Light Cones may always be voted for, even when it doesn't show up.
Example: [X] Use Light Cone (Name Here)

Just add that on to the bottom of the vote.
May The Winds Give You Freedom
4-Star (Cooldown: 3/3 Duration: 2 Turns)

The bard played on, on and on in the windy forest.
He had many companions in the past, but the harp had been the only one to remain constant.
The winds of his planet never ever stop, but he kept playing, as if to stop the winds from blowing his music and voice away.

"I don't wish for just Harmony, even though people might think otherwise with my status as an Emanator."
"I only wish for everyone to have the freedom to dance and sing as they please."

+Windfall: +3 on Technical Rolls related to movement.
Advantage on Social Rolls. (Two dice, higher one picked)

-Lightheaded: -2 when trying to act serious or intimidating.

[ ] A Master Pass, to any area of the Station.
The pass is crimson red, like your hair. Asta hands it over to you. "Since you've already been helping out with the Fragmentum and Herta already trusts you, we may as well make sure you don't get blocked off by anything here.
[Gain a pass for ANY part of the space station not specifically locked by Herta. May come in handy in any side quests or Continuances.]

Whatever it was, you smile, and wave goodbye to Asta as she leaves you with your very precious gift. Once she's left, you look at it with a bit of awe.

"Geez, just how much money does she have to be throwing this around as a gift…"

Hang out with Stelle.

The Master Control zone is fairly easy to navigate compared to the Storage zone, and you manage to find Stelle in a matter of minutes. She looks exhausted when you bump into her.

"Oh…" she pants out, "Hi, Miss Shelley."

"By Xipe's eyes, Stelle, you look exhausted! Here, let's take a seat."

Stelle goes with you over to the nearby table, then she collapses. She groans. "Does everyone need help over here? It feels like every scientist and every staff member needs something to be done. I've had to play therapist for someone who's worried about mortality, find Asta's pet, and fight off some Legion. I don't remember much, but I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to be pushing myself this much…"

You pat Stelle on the shoulder, and ruffle her hair a bit. "There, there, it'll be ok. Besides, I've had plenty of experience helping people out as an Emanator of Harmony."

Stelle pushes your hand out of her hair. "It's fine. Though, could you explain what an Emanator is? I don't really feel like I've got a sense of how this whole universe works. Like…what's an Aeon anyways?"

"Alright then, Stelle, it'll be fine. I'll explain some stuff, and then we can talk about Kafka and what you want to be doing once all this is done."

Stelle looks at you, a bit winded as you finish your explanation. "...And that's what an Emanator is," you say, "we gain power directly from our Aeons, and we become spokesperson for their Paths, which are the concepts they represent."

Stelle nods. "I think I get what you're saying Ms. Marie. So the Aeons are like gods, but bigger?"

"Pretty much! Just learn the Aeons, and the factions connected to them will be easier to understand."

"...And how many Aeons are there again?"

"...twenty-something, less if you count the dead ones."

She groans. "I guess I've got a lot to learn after getting amnesia," Stelle complains. But then she smiles. "But you're a pretty good teacher, not gonna lie."

[3/3 Relationship Progress reached with Stelle. Relationship level 2 reached.]

Suddenly, an alarm blares, and you get a text.

Asta: Meet up with the Astral Express. We need to move.

Stelle seems to get the urgency, and follows you as you run towards the Express Crew's last location.

As you get into the center of the Master Control zone, Asta seems to see you two, and immediately nods. "Shelley, Astral Express, all of you. Take the Express and leave." she says, "Shelley, don't argue. You know we have to do this."

You just barely get out a nod. You don't want to just leave her, but you've got to have some trust in Asta.

"But…" March protests.

Himeko responds in a second, shutting down any arguments. "Let's go."

You all frantically run out of the zone, and you keep your legs moving as Asta calls you. You put her on speaker.

"The supply zone's defense shield won't hold much longer. You all need to hurry...
I'll be here, you've got to fend them off…
You... hurry…"

Himeko pinches her nose as she runs. " ...We lost communications."

Dan Heng turns to her. "Are you thinking of going back? Let me remind you, that's the Doomsday Beast, the Legion's planet destroyer."

"The space station is Herta's creation." Himeko responds. "As long as a Lord Ravager (Emanator of Destruction) doesn't intervene, there should be no problems.

March chimes in with her worries. "B—But we can't just run away like this, right…"

Dan Heng lays out his reasoning. "The Doomsday Beast can rip off the defense shield like tearing paper — and Herta's not here. The station's defenses are too weak to stand against the Antimatter Legion."

"Either way, the Legion has the blessing of the Aeon, Nanook. The Destruction They came prepared and everyone here is not."

"That's why we have to leave and take Stelle and Shelley with us." Himeko responds.

"Stelle and Shelley? They're that important?"

"They're the ones who can help us turn the tides... Of course, I may be wrong."

Stelle chimes in. "I guess I'll do my best if both the redheads here think I can do it."

"Yeah, just trust us." you say, "I've still got enough fight in me to beat up a pesky Beast."

Dan Heng still seems hesitant, but he goes with Himeko's command. "...As you say so. Alright, what should we do next?"

You all stop in front of a complicated mess of gray platforms. Himeko points at the room. "This is the supply zone where the maintenance crew works. There's a path here that leads to the nearest railway platform. Let's head over there and meet up with Welt."

March seems surprised. "Mr. Yang? Mr. Yang's here too? Didn't he stay on the Express?"

"The Astral Express tracks our coordinates in real time... And with such a huge change in the space station's movements, there's no way Mr. Yang wouldn't have noticed." Dan Heng says.

Himeko nods. "Hmm, I can almost guarantee that your Mr. Yang is already on his way."

"Right now, we might be able to handle things if it's just the Doomsday Beast. But If the Destruction's Emanator were to appear…"

"The Destruction's Emanator?" Stelle asks, clearly a bit worried.

You comfort her. "It should be fine. Nanook wouldn't sic an Emanator onto one space station. I'd take the whole world to deal with it."

"Let's hurry up and get out of here. I'll explain later." Himeko says, commanding everyone forward.

You all run through the supply zone, though you leave the puzzles and stupid bridges to the crew.

…these bridges are even more frustrating in person, oh Xipe.

You stop the Astral Express in front of the railway platform, your hand outstretched in front of them.

"…wait up, March."

"Why?" the girl in question responds, "The Astral Express should be nearby!"

You sigh. "Listen, I don't know much about how Legion compares to Devils, but we're likely running into an ambush."

And it's time to rip off the bandage. "...I'm an Emanator after all. I've fought against Destruction too many times to count."

The crew gasps, though Stelle is unsurprised since you already told her this before.

"An Emanator…" Dan Heng looks seriously surprised. "I suppose that explains Himeko's hunch."

Himeko seems fairly respectful, and March seems to be in awe of you. Himeko speaks up first. "Well, Ms. Marie, do you have any idea how we should do this?"

Huh. Revealing your identity was better than expected. Guess the Express Crew's seen it all by now.

"Well," you start off, "we can't sneak by a Doomsday Beast at all. Here's the plan..."

Combat…
[ ] Plan (Write In)
-[ ] Primary Strategy (Write In)

You
-[ ] Shelley will… (Write In)
—[ ] Shelley supports…

[ ] Emanator Release? (1 charge ready, recommended.)
When this is chosen in combat, once per adventure (trailblaze mission or continuance) you can release your Emanator powers. Doing this over the charge limit will give you injuries or lower your stats. However, doing it will give you the buffs seen in your character sheet, and give you advantage on every roll for that combat.

Shelley cannot support with Spirit Sync while using this, for balancing and lore reasons.

Defense
-[ ] March will… (Write In)

Offense
-[ ] Stelle will… (Write In)
-[ ] Dan Heng will… (Write In)
-[ ] Himeko will… (Write In)

[ ] Activate Light Cone?

I don't have much to say here. The dice gods kicked me in the nuts with the Nat 1 and 2, but you guys made it through fine.

…Good luck on the Doomsday Beast. Aeonspeed.
