1989:

A cartoon studio appears in NYC, where deformed toons terrorize the populace until firefighters are called in to stop them. This causes a sense of distrust in toons, due to arguments saying toons aren't natural and some could use their physics to overthrow the country if not checked. The 90s would be a era of toon rights activism, with many toons saying the twisted beings at Joey Drew Studios were monsters not affiliated with them. In protest, the toons (along with the Disney program) help bring Bendy the Dancing Demon, a toon found in the studios along with his friends, to prove it. It ends up being a success and Bendy turns the studio into his own. This era resulted in more zany toon shows, helped connect both 2D toons and newly computer-generated ones, and the creation of Cartoon Network, the first 24-hour channel for cartoons, with cooperation with Turner Network Television.
