[X]He goes after your "Family". Which you still care for, obviously.

[X]Write In (Seriously I spent all week trying to think of ways. Impress me SV!)
-[x]He knows you don't care about your "family", so make some local friends he can threaten. Bonus points if your precog tells you they'll be triggering soon, leaving him without leverage at the most inconvenient moment.

You know what, I'm going to go completely out there on the clothing vote.

[X] Gothic lolita, because who better to pull it off than you?

Sure why not.
She's got the right build for it

Vote count thingy. Neat.

I don't know how popular the "Both" option was since the only result was people voting for both. So here's a quick new vote.

[x]Only one vulnerability

[x]Both

The vote is not over. I just don't know how better to clarify this one.

If you choose "Divide votes by block for the Vote tally" you can get more helpful numbers. Of course, since any new votes overwrite old ones, you'd have to set the last post to be checked as the post as just made. Which I... forgot to do.

I guess handle those ones manually by checking what their votes previously were, then using 'Manage votes' to count their names in the correct option?

Alternatively, use 'Manage votes' to move any old Coil votes to the new categories you just made. Less work.

-[X] As above except with more whites. White is the best color. It might make it harder to be cleaner, but your powers will take care of that.

[X] Romance. Coil sent an attractive minion to seduce you to evil and is using his power constantly to give that minion relationship and dating advice, Cyrano de Bergerac style.

I don't even care about the overall taste, it just has to be white.

[X] Camo. Belts. Ammo pouches. We're going broke on the Mall Ninja Shit, as behooves any Brute.

Thanks! Look like "both" and "canon lisa outfit" won.

I'll try to respond faster this time. Wish me luck.

As for which "weakness" to let him exploit, I think disease and infection would be a good choice. Highy plausible, easy to fake, hard to verify, and takes a long time to take effect, meaning that the amount of time between him threatening us and revealing his hand and him realizing he fucked up is as long as possible.

Lisabringer must be feeling pretty smug now, having predicted that I was going to vote and made the QM close the vote.

I am feeling pretty smug since other than lack of white, winning vote was my desire as well.

Apologies on the late update.......Apparently Coil is a bitch to write for, especially as literally none of the characters with actual character he could potentially interact with even exist at this point in time.

You know what? Progress update. Since I'm stuck at the fight scene, here's everything before that.

Coil fell back into his sofa, having just dismissed the timeline in which he had ordered his team to go ahead with the plan to capture the new thinker in Brockton Bay and forcibly recruit her. It had gone well at first, and then the girl had revealed herself to be a brute, shrugging off bullets and capturing his body double as soon as she got within range.

It was at that moment he had decided he must have that girl under his control. She represents both a great threat to his plans and potentially, a powerful minion.

Coil dropped the timeline again, and split it, perhaps he was going at this from the wrong angle.

He'd have to get back to base, he decided. Coil got into his beat-up old Prius and drove to his pick-up point with Creep, reaching the base, and finally dismissing the timeline in which sat there, just in case he was caught in transit to the construction site that masked his base. Paranoid, yes, but one can never be too paranoid.

Once safely inside, surrounded by his captains, and perhaps as safe as he could be, Coil dismissed the reality in which he had waited before taking the trip and split again. In the first reality, he dismissed them with an offhand "As you were" before heading down and starting further research on this girl, while in the other: "Heroux, Wilson, Thatcher with me, the rest of you, dismissed" and started walking to the Barracks, his chosen captain falling into step beside him.

"There has been a new development. A cape of unknown brute rating, high-level thinker. Kill her. Subtlety is unnecessary I will leave the particulars of the mission to you. Dismissed".

In the first timeline, he ensconced himself inside his office, using his tap into PRT systems to access their facial reconstruction and recognition software, creating as close a replica of the girl's face as he could, pale skin, delicate features, freckles high cheekbones, platinum blonde hair, green eyes.

Conveniently, she was already in the database as a suspected Trigger, "Sarah Livsey, age 17, ran away from home five months ago after her brother committed suicide." Interestingly enough, the details then veered off away from what he knew of her physical description. On the profile, her last known height was five foot three, and described a thin teenager girl. The girl he had saw through the cameras yesterday was atleast five foot ten with broad shoulders and a muscular physique, a further clue into the nature of her powers? More to think about later.

[At this point the squads finish prepping their gear and Liz shows a "Weakness" before wrecking all of em]. Just not sure how to write this from Coil's PoV

Depends on the weakness.
For instance, being unable to refuse groveling would be freakin hilarious

"I can see all paths to the future that led to my enemies begging me on their knees.

"Unfortunately, that is always when some asshole with a tinkertech sniper rifle shoots me in the head."

But for a more serious weakness, just make Lisa 'appear' to suffer pain from precog interference? So say when Coil builds up a big massive timeline and drops one, that's the moment when Lisa appears to suffer some epic migraine.

It even plays into fucking with Coil's head, because he thinks that as long as he builds up his choice enough and then drops, even if he's gone all in, Lisa is disoriented. She appears to suffer less pain during shorter timelines.

And later....work out something with Dinah. Contessa just doesn't count for whatever reason, Contessa is bullshit and Coil will never examine that line of thought too closely.

The planned weakness is that she's not a brute 24/7, AKA the first shot hurts her but then she gets behind cover and in a few moments, the shots stop working. He doesn't quite figure it out yet, but after a few recorded fights with her under his employ, he'll be confident enough to have it as plan B.

So far, the fight script starts with them jumping her, "Sarah" being "Surprised" and then getting to cover for a few moments before she flies up and decides to hit the group that Coil has bodycams on (which he hadn't finished installing on all his squads).

And by hit I mean she flies into their midst fast enough that the shockwave sends them flying and shrapnel from the road being hit by the world's prettiest meteor wounds a few, and kills one.

Coil of course, is just convinced she's even more useful than she appeared at first

It's just. How do I write all of this from Coil's POV? What's the reasonable reaction for these mercs?

Run through several iterations.
He started with a straight rush, which got his mooks slaughtered.

The natural B route is to try to ambush with brute rated weapons, where the split is dropped because his men are packing Brute rated when they hit a bruteless Lisa and she splashes into a bloody stain before she activates the tanking.

Then with weakness confirmed, he'd probably proceed with tranquilizers. Probably start with the human grade ones if he's intending to capture her, then abort to elephant tranqs if her brute powers activating means that they wear off.

At this point he has her in a box and with a capture confirmed, he can drop the forks once she's in secure containment in a secondary base.
Probably the next step is to test how long she can stay bruted up in throwaway forks. Let her wake up, and then hit her until her defense gives way and she dies. That'd let him know how to pressure her.

Mercs are safe except when they die
