Sic Semper Tyrannis [IC]

Motioning for you to follow, the soldiers begin to follow the path of their wayward beacon, occasionally tapping a device mounted to their gauntlets and releasing an expanding bubble of nearly translucent blue-colored energy, pinging their surroundings. They stop and start occasionally, taking abrupt turns and ducking down side streets.

Turning a corner, they suddenly freeze, one of them holding up a fist before gesticulating quickly at the other. One leaps up to a rooftop and scans the skyline, moving slowly and cautiously, while the other motions for the two sisters to get down and holds a finger up to their faceless helmet.
Eliza's face contorts into an expression of rage at the soldier's actions. However, just as she is about to stand up and give them a piece of her mind, Judas stops her.

"Calm down, big sister," she murmured into Eliza's ear, "I'm just as interested as you are. However, I suspect that we will see whatever 「thing」 has them so scared."

Eliza opens her mouth again, but Judas merely shushes her, mimicking the gesture the soldier made earlier.

"Fine," Eliza concedes, "But I'm not letting my guard down."

Even as the sisters crouch on the ground, Death on Two Legs rises out of its user's back, cautiously surveying the area while weaving its wires into a makeshift cage.

The massively oversized sword sinks up to its hilt, plunging through the creature's chest, pinning it to the ground like some kind of demented insect. It keens, misshappen limbs clawing at the handle of the sword, attempting to dislodge the offending instrument, but to no avail.

Riveria's fist crushes its skull, sending a spray of green ectoplasm everywhere. With that final blow, the body thrashes around for a few more seconds, before finally going limp. The glowing carcass of the original spiderlike body begins to smoke, dissolving with a sound like a hissing snake.

It's over.

BOSS ENCOUNTER: THE RAVENOUS
COMPLETE
ECHO RELEASED

The only sound in this dismal realm comes from the slowly disintegrating corpse of the monster Riveria cut down. Soon, all that remains is a jumbled pile of skeletal remains, wildly fantastical bones that range from fang-like incisors the length of a man's arm to wholly inhuman structures with no rhyme or reason to their structure.

A building slowly crumbles to the ground, eerily silent, in the backdrop. The only source of light now comes from Riveria himself. All is hushed, all is quiet.

[ Achievement Unlocked! First Blood (5 pts) ] - Entering into a new, strange realm, you encountered a Beast, ravenous and wild - and you cut it down with steel and fire. There is power in action, and bathing in the blood of monsters is no mean feat. Seize the day and control the future.

Well, that was a fun run. Good times was had by all. The hum of the atomic reactor in Riveria's chest cut out, the iridescent cherry glow of his superheated armor fading. As per his wont, Riveria took a seat on a bone that looked like a Klein Bottle and jammed his sword, still glowing with ambient heat, by his side. He set the sheathe on his knees and made a line of cocaine.

All alone with his drugs, his thoughts, and the mind breaking corpse of some squiddy fuck. Wasn't this a DOOM level? Nah, the level layout was shit. And he didn't have a doubled barreled shotgun. Not his fault that the Atomic Tyrant kept on setting off the gunpowder early.

This was a weird day, he considered as dopamine coursed through his brain. Felt better already. Usually all this shit- big huge fights- tired him out and made him feel pretty crummy. It was all the radiation eating to his fleshy organs. Still- this was new. He could do mechs. He could do asshole exojocks just as good as him. He hasn't done aliens, which he felt was always a big hole in his resume. Well, at least he could say he'd fixed that.

"Pip pip, old chap!" the self-proclaimed Major-General exclaims, slapping his compatriot on the back and sending him stumbling forwards. "Let's not dally now!" The Matrix reject scowls as he readjusts his hat, knocking Buxley's hand away. "Try not to ruin the trail again, would you?" he mumbles, under his breath.

Nevertheless, both of them begin to follow after Duna and Nepgear, Buxley brandishing his steampunk pistol and the other man having drawn a long, elaborate-looking katana from...somewhere.

Once more, the guy looks and sounds so stereotypically British, while the other is kinda like a stereotypical government agent... but whatever, now we've managed to secure their assistance... hopefully. The stylized katana reminds me of Neptune, though.

While still on Duna's back, I proceed to help in pointing at where the reality-cracking creature went off to. Hopefully we'll be able to reach it in time... even if I find myself nervous at the prospect of fighting it again.

A sudden skittering noise, like something rattling on a metal surface, fills the air. Looking around, there doesn't appear to be anything nearby, but the sound is startling to hear, so soon after the complete absence of it. The monster seems to have wandered off, but tension is still thick in the air.

'So, any idea where we are going now?'

'Nope, I was too busy running for my life.'

'Just keep wandering until something that doesn't want to eat us shows up?'

'Sure thing.'

Juniper and Amaranth motioned to Anna that they had no idea what they are doing and where they are going, so they keep wandering to where the monster first showed up, hopping that the others were still there.

I noticed Nepgear's being nervous and frowned. "You nervous? I'll admit, I'm nervous as well... I'm thinking if I can get on it's back again and rip open either another eyeball or the wound I gave it, I may be able to kill it if the bozos and you have enough fire power to keep it from escaping. Does that sound good to you?" I asked her as I continued on hunting the fucking pseudo-sarus-screamer.
