Shield Hero, but hopefully Heroic

[X] "Just give me a outfit like I already got. Spice it up if you want I guess. But remove the fu- *sigh* just remove the FWJ off of it thanks."

Yeah, I didn't think she'd care too much about pain relief, but I was hoping that the unique shields would be more useful. At least she can hopefully use them on her companion(s)?

Also, actually being healed will hopefully make more of a difference than the pain relief medicine did. Maybe a combination of being healed and not having to wear the hated uniform will reduce her hate levels? I'm not sure how she can try to create a business at this point with how close she gets to snapping at times. We should probably just stick with finding someone to hunt Balloons for the perfume maker for now.

Something as "locally normal" as possible for blending in might be nice for not attracting attention.
To build on this...
From what I can tell of the world, and our social position/people we will be interacting with, a set like our old clothes for out and about, and as much as our MC might dislike it, I think the classic frilly dress would be good for meeting with nobles. We might still look like Frankenstein's bride, but we will at least be *trying* which might help for the more discerning nobles, like the not-a-jerk Queen. The Princely uniform has 'cross-dresser' vibes that I don't want to tie to us, for all it suits the MC's perferences.

I think it's been stated in story somewhere that NO FRILLY DRESSES and forcing her to choose one might be bad for her mental state.

Honestly, I just want to get clothes that Yukihime likes at this point. She took the pain relief potion to make William and the apprentice happy, which I think ended up contributing to her RAGE because it felt like a waste of money. Let's work towards getting her to a better mental state. I doubt she'll get the hobby option any time soon at this point.

I'd like both. Besides as a hero (even though we're the shield hero) politics bull might come up so we do need to play dressup just so we dont look like the street rat we are. We are after all a prime ministers daughter we know how this stuff works. On that note should we get a cloak for the purpose of hiding our identity? how much would something like that cost? Are the outdoor outfits seperate from what we're buying or are we deciding the design of the outdoor outfits cause I dont want to be superfluous with our purchases.

I really like the two-uniform idea that's being thrown around, so that's where I'm throwing my support.

Would a scarred girl dressing up as a male noble really make a good impression on the upper-class people? I see the intent here, but I don't think it will work. Unless Shield Hero-verse is perfectly ok with that?

I suggest that we stick with the outfit she already has, just so that she hopefully doesn't go into a rage again. I'm more worried about her mental state than what the nobles think of her. At least some of them felt sorry for her while others are prejudiced against the Shield Hero, no matter what. Yukihime dressing up in fancy clothes MIGHT be seen as her making an effort, or they might twist it to say that she's spending money on frippery instead of focusing on her duties as a hero.

Bless this kiddo.
The Store's name is Vivian's Tailoring Bonanza. The store is cute. It has a bunch of childish things in it, like small dolls, bears, and even the mannequins look cute as fuck. You're so out of place that you think that the God of Cute might fucking smite you. There is a cute little girl manning the teller and fucking god damn it William. You sneaky bastard. Sure the girl is just a little bit younger than you (you know you're basically the same size because your stunted growth shut up) but she's fucking adorable. She was black haired, wore an elaborate frilly ass dress and sorta just looked like a very cute doll. You sorta wanted to awkwardly reverse-storm in the business because you don't think you could mentally handle being bullied here but you're committed now. But you rather get it done with now or not ever,
William is the best grandpa analogue we never had

I think it depends on the spin we want to put:
[] Just give me a outfit like I already got. Spice it up if you want I guess. But remove the fu- *sigh* just remove the FWJ off of it thanks.

This focuses on looking at least somewhat alien and militaristic in design. Most immediately comfortable, least likely to help with her issues in the long run since she's seen as a warrior and people start to forget the girl behind it.

[] M...Ma...Make me look like a prince!

This takes an emphasis on being the Hero. Noble bearing, scars taken for the people.
The opinions of the nobles don't matter so much as public perception. Shield Hero is already persona non grata in the court, so they can't hate us more short of raising a rebellion.

[] R-really? You think? Oh okay maybe... Alright make me the frilly cute dress before I regret it.

Shock therapy. Note that based on the option, she'd less disliking frilly dresses and more dreading that she'd clash horribly with it(that "R-really" says it all).
Remember her extremely high Perception, she doesn't want to invest into a pretty dress and STILL inspire revulsion.
Bit too soon to pull a Cleans Up Nicely yet I think.

State-sponsored anti-Shield Hero bias is going to eff us over one way or another, no matter what we do. If we don't spend on a nice piece of formalwear, we'll be derided for not trying to make ourselves look respectable to our "betters"; and if we do spend, we'll be derided for spending money that "should have been given to a more financially responsible hero" or something to that effect.

It's a lose-lose situation for as long as we're the Shield Hero, but in the long run, we'll make a better impression if we at least look like we're trying to fit in when we're called before the court.

As for whether canon backs up your point here-
Would a scarred girl dressing up as a male noble really make a good impression on the upper-class people? I see the intent here, but I don't think it will work. Unless Shield Hero-verse is perfectly ok with that?
- I can't say what Melromarc's policy on crossdressing heroes is, but I do know that Yuki doesn't want to be caught dead wearing a dress, so battle-scarred Utena it is.

Eh, I'm worried that if she makes an effort to impress and it fails utterly, then it'll inspire another RAGE fit. It's one thing if she dresses like that because she wants to and another if it's because she thinks it'll make people like her better. The first is a sign of good mental health while the second has a high potential of failure.

[X] M...Ma...Make me look like a prince!

Crossdressing ho! With bonus points for being far more practical in combat than a dress.

Let me just quickly tally the votes here.

I'll just say that it's nearish a tie, and people are interested in burning the old clothes you hate.

I'm debating on just giving the two outfits option the win here, considering the argument that MC might need political clothes (and the option that voted for both pushes the Modern Militaristic and the Prince outfit is the one that pushes the Make me Look like a Prince option on it's own with more voters technically wanting said modern militarist.)

But unless I read the votes wrong more independent votes went for the Prince look.

Fuck it, arbitrarily I'll swing it towards the people who wanted both outfits. Because it looks like a bunch of people voted for that as well, along with the singlar outfit deal.

Imagine fucking up your own acronym. Also look, I'm taking executive decision to go with the combined option here... Because well, the voting tally system didn't work as well as I wanted it to and mashed everything together oof, and well... It was pretty nearly a tie without the combined option, and including the combined option gives a hefty minority here. Now with the actual quest.
--

You had no sense for clothing. You sorta, just wore anything convenient that didn't look awful on you and wasn't girly before your conscription... "Just give me an outfit like I already got... Spice it up if you want I guess, but remove the fu-... Just remove the FWA from it" The army... It was part of you, you couldn't let it go. You were a soldier, even way before you were officially conscripted.

You also sorta, had a request in your head for a second order. Ever since you entered this cute store, you've been effected with some sort of illness... You sorta wanted to be this cute... You couldn't help it, even as you feel the blood rush to your face... "I uh... I have another request for my other outfit" You say this nearly inaudibly... "Huh? What's that?" Vivian (you assume from the name of the store) catches it anyway, now distracted from writing your order to listen to you "M...Ma...Make me look like a prince!" You almost shouted that out, you hope she wouldn't laugh at you. You knew you were horrific to look at and... Heroic Knights or Samurai didn't exist, there were no Super Sentai, no real heroes... No prince charming... You definitely didn't look like one... But was it so wrong to want to reject that sort of world? Was it wrong to want to be the Prince? Was it wrong to want to slay the beast before Hikaru? Was it wrong to want to save yourself? It was childish you knew... But if someone like you could be the Prince...

You only realized a bit too late that you were saying all that sappy shit out loud. William brought his hand on your shoulder, "When I first met you Yukihime... I had some doubts. But, your conduct... For someone as damaged as you to be willing to save the world... I believe it entirely Yukihime." William said this almost absently... Vivian meanwhile was almost in tears "Y-you don't think you're pretty Yukihime? You... Don't think yourself as a hero! Yukihime! You're the only Hero still here! You're the only one that actively interacts with us! You're a rising business inspiration! Even... Even the people who hated you see you as a rising star because you're the only one taking things seriously! Everyone... Everyone has almost given up. When King Aultcray stopped fighting... There was nothing but apathy in the world, just waiting for the death from the waves... You're a hero, because of those words you keep backing up that you said in your recruitment pitch in the square!"

You were honestly quite stunned at the vitriolic defense of your character and... You're not gonna lie you're pretty flattered. You weren't surprised that the others weren't taking this seriously at all... They came from much more peaceful times. You felt, nice... You had no idea that you had so many supporters. You suddenly felt revitalized, an exhaustion you didn't know you had lessening from your mind from knowing that people had your back in the most unlikely places. "Hey... Thanks. I appreciate it. Yes... I'd like to be the Prince, even if only for formal occasions. The military outfit... I won't mind if you pretty it up but keep it in mind it's for combat." You felt much better. "Hmm... Yes... I see. The 'military outfit' will be done by tomorrow, but the Princely one... It'll take two to three days.", "Ah no problem. It was a genuine pleasure meeting you... I might hang out here just for how cute everything is! But for now, I think I'll go." You allow yourself to gush a little. You felt safer around cute things.

You left the store, "William... I'm sorry for snapping at you earlier... Being treated like that and restraining myself is difficult..." William just nodded, "It's partly my fault. I had no idea it was going to be this way. I wouldn't have blamed you for getting a bit violent with the man in the tuxedo... Breaching social contract in such a way... He was trying to hurt you and get you to react, I'm proud that you restrained yourself." You gave a noncommittal hum in response. William truly sold himself short, you think with his patience and virtue that he's closer to enlightenment than he thinks.

You were in quite a good mood. Truthfully you didn't expect to reveal so much of your personal philosophy or people to take notice of your genuine attempt at being a hero...

Welcome to almost missing some philosophy from the MC. The Army outfit, was the one without risk. The post would be a lot shorter. The Prince... Well you're in the one store on the shopping table that responded well to it and would non-hostilely comply or dismiss you. If you weren't a scarred mess this would funnily spark in my notes a fight scene you didn't initiate between William and Tuxboy. The fluffy dress was the sad option. Like, the really sad option.

You think you can go into one more shop before you're exhausted and need to rest.

This is want I want to go for, because magic is magic and magic is always good. Too bad it's legitimate magic, forbidden magic is often much more fun.

[X] Barber Jones Hairstyling.
But this is what I vote for since it has been literal years since we've had it brushed, and the haystack we currently have is not suited for the prince-look.

Leaving the Interlude blank as I am currently undecided.
