The world is a large and marvelous place that has been home to many events and beings across time. From Rulers and Conquerors of time forgotten to legendary beasts and even perhaps gods. However, many of these tales have been either lost to time or neglected as fantasies. These are the thoughts of most from the Modern Age, although in this age there are still those who know the know the truth.
That death is not always the absolute end, that there's something more to these forgotten or "fake" legends, that unknown to the world of modern men. Magic is real, Spirits are real, and there are those who can truly connect and interact with these forces.
There are many types of people and creatures who do so, but for the majority? Those who walk with the dead?
They're called Shamans.
And this is the story of a boy who will discover what that truly means.
So another day begins for the young lad as he wakes to the sound of his alarm. After getting up to do some stretching for a bit to get the morning haze out he heads, he heads down stairs to get some breakfast. As he descends the stairs he could already hear the noise his younger twin siblings were making, after arriving at the table and being greeted by Mom and the twins.
Getting a bowl of cereal and ignoring the noise his siblings were already making he couldn't help but begin contemplating on his home considering how it's chaotic it's been since the Twin's birthdays were last week.
[] Wyoming, America - You lived in your little town in Wyoming as far back as you can remember. Born and Raised you lived enjoying the quiet life in the small place and exploring the wilderness that surrounds the town, however you didn't realize how much your life was going to change as something Primal Awoke...
[]Lhasa City, China - A large city you have memories of moving to a few years ago, Large and exciting you couldn't help but marvel at the place from time to time with its beautiful buildings and the grand mountains. However, one day you were simply wandering around and ended up somewhere that had some weird vibes. Later you realize you caught Someone's Attention.
[]Ruokolahti, Finland - You just moved here and you can already tell it's kind of boring. You live at the edge of the Ruokolahti spending most of the time wandering around the woods that were close to your house since there isn't really much do around here. But hey at least you eventually found someone to talk with even if they were a bit... Scary.
Heh how time flies.
When he finished his cereal and washing up he bid his family goodbye and headed out to make the most of his weekend. While he didn't exactly have any plans on what to do he figured he'd find something to do while walking around, admittedly not the best of ideas but hey it's not like there was anything else with his lack of friends.
Guess it was his own fault for being…
[]a bit of a Punk. Yeah, he sleeps in classes and got into some fights, but what was he supposed to do? No one would slow down to help him in class and the jerks were just asking for it! No one picks on the twins but you.
[]kind of creepy. For some reason or another he just couldn't get his feelings across to others and in the end he always came off as either emotionless or just simply not right.
Also, it probably didn't help that he can see dead people.
It was scary at first but it wasn't that big of a deal originally, it became a big deal when he was caught a few times talking to them by some other kids and when he was asked who he was talking to he made the mistake of telling the truth.
Yeah, in hindsight saying he was talking to a dead guy wasn't his brightest idea.
Speaking about the dead he waved to the biker that passed by on his walk just now. The yellow biker happily waved back and continued to blaze on by. Poor guy slipped off the trail and ended up crashing during a surprise storm a month back.
On the topic of the undead, he couldn't help but think about how long it's been since he could interact with those who have departed from the living.
[] It was as far back as he could remember. He could always see blurred figures out and about ever so often. A year or two later he started to actually make out what they looked and even hear them. When he asked his folks about it they eventually told him it was a family trait? Gain: Shaman's Legacy: The Blood of Shamans flows through you and your family. The arts of Shamanism comes to you easier then most and perhaps the potential for even greater heights.
[] It's kind of hard to remember most of the details now a day, but when he was young he got infected by a pretty bad illness. He vaguely remembers feeling impossibly cold and a terrible pain throughout his body, eventually at some point everything went black. When next he woke up to his parents crying over him, he was later told that he was legitimately dead for a few minutes. Gain: Living yet Dead: You Died, yet you live. You who walk amoungest the living even though you were met by Death. What this means, no one knows...
But enough of that, the time of thinking about the past is over. Now it's time to see what the day holds or your name isn't…

-Knowledge: 2 (Knowledge over all revolves around your intelligence and tactical prowess)
6 Remaining Points to Distribute
Traits - These can influence how your character acts and his actual physical body.
Now that we're here I'll explain why Brian's stats are a bit uneven. You see the options that you lot voted for ended up affecting your character due to his history. Being raised it a small town and adventuring through the woods gave him a plus to his Constitution and Will, the creepy kid gave him a point in Presence and took away one from Insight...plus getting him stuck with blank face silent protagonist syndrome, and finally due to "Living yet Dead" he gains another point to Presence along with some other effects you'll have to find out later.
You have three points, use these points to either pick a talent or add two points to one of the stats.
[] Modern Giant:Even now at the age of 14 your already tall enough to be confused with a young adult or older teen. That's not ever considering the fact your still not done growing.
+2 to the Body Stats and gain a Body Re-Roll Dice, -6 to Speed Rolls [] Scary Face:It has always been so easy for you to scare others, just moving your smile a certain way and getting your head in front of some light has always been your favorite way to do it.
+2 to intimidation rolls and -1 general Charisma rolls [] Wild Child: You always hated being cooped up inside, being outdoors and exploring the wild has always been able to set your mind at ease. Guess that says something about you huh?
+1 to Might and Will, -2 to civilized rolls [] Lithe & Graceful:Your body had always been a bit to far on the thin side of things, but wasn't much helping it since the doctors could never find anything wrong with you. On the bright side it made it harder for others to catch you.
+4 to Dodge and Speed rolls, -1 to Con and Might [] Iron Gullet:There's nothing you can't eat if it comes down to it.
+2 to Con and +5 to eating rolls [] Gut Sense:You've always had this sixth sense that managed to get you out of some tight spots over the years. + 4 to instinct rolls [] Prince Charming?: Despite your troubles at understanding others it has come up once or twice that it was never your looks that kept people away...or so your told.
+1 Charisma and another +2 Charisma when interacting with the opposite gender []Honest Heart: You've always had your heart on your sleeve and in turn the ability to read other's intent...even if it made you a little bit blunt. +3 to Empathy Rolls and +2 to Insight, -5 to deception rolls [] Guarded Heart:Even when you don't consider your natural inability to connect with others it probably didn't help that you could never fully trust others enough to let them get close in the first place.
+3 to Deception and Restraint rolls, -1 to Will and -4 to Empathy rolls
Also a very important thing to note is that some traits have synergy with each other. An Example being Modern Giant and Scary Face, if you have these two then Scary Face will get it's effects doubled becoming +4 to Intimidation rolls and -2.
And the last thing before we kick back into the adventure of Brian Byers, what does the lad look like?

Brian admitted as he ran his hand through his white mess of hair. It's been a few hours since he spent time walking around the place just generally exploring and seeing if anything interesting was going on. Although it was kind of a pain from time to time when either people got nervous as he walked by or the odd girl or two would turn a bit red from looking at him...what's their deal? Anyways besides spotting some other kids playing games together or people just going about there day nothing really interesting was going on. It was a pretty great day out though, a few clouds covering the sun and some gentle breezes keeping things cool.
As for the spirits there haven't been many about recently while a bit strange, it wasn't to weird, hopefully it's just them moving on to wherever the afterlife leads them.
Anyways eventually Brian started to get abit hungry as it started to getting later in the afternoon, so you went to one of the few local fast food places in town and grabbed a bite to eat and a shake he while he was there. When he finished his meal Brian thought it'd be fun to visit one of his favorite places, a little park at the edge of town. It was peaceful and quiet place that most importantly hardly had any souls around, well besides the occasional literal soul that floats on by like the old guy over there. Proceeds to waves to Old Guy who happily waves back.
So after taking a seat on one of the benches and finishing the last of his frozen treat he decides to spend some time relaxing since it's been sometime since his last visit.
[] Brian pulled out his little hand notebook he carries around and began doing some drawings of the animals the occasionally scurry by, Brian can proudly say he's pretty good at it after doing for so many years.
[]...Making sure not a single living person was in the general area as Brian slowly pulled out his knitting gear. Not a single person besides his Mother knew he knit, and he intends to keep it that way.
While he was busy with his hobby Brian couldn't help but let his mind from thinking about some of the recent rumors he's been hearing around school for the past couple of days at school. Apparently there's been sightings of a large thing in the woods lately by a few students and apparently even a few adults, now that's nothing extraordinary considering while rare a few bears do tend to wander a bit close to town. The weird part was it was supposedly at minimum over two times the size of a grizzly bear and the supposed feeling of dread that suddenly engulfs them until they flee.
Honestly the temptation to just write if off is pretty strong, but consider he can see dead people he can't do confidently do that.
Plus it sounds like an adventure, so why not?
It also helps that he's been exploring those woods as long as he can remember with his pops, so even if there's something there he's sure he can get away without too much difficulty.
[] So making up his mind he puts his stuff away and heads out towards the forest right away, no point in burning day light before it gets to late. [] He should probably be better prepared in case things go wrong, head back home to gather a few things before heading out. [] You almost missed it, but the Old Guy from before had collapsed and was wither on the ground in pain! Run over and check up on him!
AN: So here we are back to the story, sorry for the interrupt but now we can get back on track! If you have any questions feel free to ask. Also the Character sheet is finally properly up now.
[X]...Making sure not a single living person was in the general area as Brian slowly pulled out his knitting gear. Not a single person besides his Mother knew he knit, and he intends to keep it that way. [X] You almost missed it, but the Old Guy from before had collapsed and was withering on the ground in pain! Run over and check up on him!
It was just out of the corner of his eye, but before he could head out Brian almost missed the spirit of the old man from earlier falling to the ground and seemingly trembling in pain. Deciding it'd be best to check up on him Brian quickly threw his knitting gear into his bag and rush towards the fallen spirit.
"Hey sir are you alright?!" Reaching out towards the spirit and just as Brian got close enough to attempt to help, the Old Man's head shot up with an expression of pain and rage?

Brian didn't notice it right away, as he got a good look at the man he noticed a dark aura began to form around him and then for a split-second he felt a wave of hate and grief pass through him from the spirit.
"NO! Child, you most run I don't know how much Longer I errAAAARRRHHH!"
Whatever warning the Spirit was trying to give was cut off with a Hate filled scream and the Spirit was engulfed in an eruption of the Dark Aura that had such force that Brian was sent flying back!
"Ugh…What was that?" Was all Brian could mutter as he slowly opened far being blasted to ground.
He began to pick himself off the ground he turned back to stare at the where the spirit was only to freeze. For once where at most was a 5'6 Old Man was now at minimum an 8-foot THING! It seemed to be made up of that Dark Aura from earlier, It's portions were wrong as well, it's body looked starved as it's bones were pressing up against whatever that energy was that counted as it's flesh and it's forelimbs were far larger than what any natural creature could ever be and those limbs didn't end up ending with hands, but rather three long jagged claws.
Worse of all however was its face. It too looked starved as it's cheeks were sunken in, however it didn't any other facial features like a mouth or nose besides its White Glowing eyes that seem to hold endless amounts of hatred.
For the moment everything felt like it stopped as the Boy and Creature stared at each other to Brian, even his own heart.
However, that feeling didn't last long, for in an instant the Creature lunged at him!

And It would have impaled him had he been a moment slower from rolling out the way of the claws that buried themselves halfway into the dirt, without even a second anymore Brian scurried up to his feet and took off with all the speed his legs could pump out!
As he ran as fast as he could towards the forest in hopes of losing the Thing in an area Brian is knew better than even the town! He most certainly knew the creature was behind him giving chase since the feeling of fury and dread that he felt from it was still behind him and was feeling closer rather than further away!
So with that the Boy fled through the area he all but grew up in throughout the years as a Malicious Creature filled with ill intents gave chase in silence.
Through countless bushes, past seemingly endless thickets, and over any obstacles as time almost seemed to disappear for the boy as he fled from the source of the almost all consuming vile emotions that made him fear for his life that ever so slowly but surely gained on his heels.
However, no matter how well he knew the land, no matter how he good he was at pressing on, Brian was still human, and humans make mistakes. For in an instance Brian perhaps made his last. For in his ever growing exhaustion and panic at the creature gaining on him, he failed to notice a root sticking out of the forest floor.
With a grunt of pain Brian crashed into the earth, exhausted and afraid he tried his best to get off the ground before-ACK!
A clawed foot slams into his back and forces himself back into the ground!
Realizing what just happened Brian could feel his heart crash into his chest over and over as fast as he ever felt it beat before! Knowing how grim the situation is and even with himself being all, but consumed by fear and dread, Brian forces himself to turn his head towards the Monster's own White hate filled eyes with his own fearful, yet stubborn Red eyes.
He watched as it rose it's right claw high into the sky and then to helpless watched as it brought down to finish-

Brian froze at the sudden interruption and judging by the look of the Creature's face-well more like its eyes, and the fact it stopped right before it could end him, so did it as they both process that something Made the ground around them shake.
"Grrraaaaahhh"
Turning to the source of the noise Brian saw in front of him a creature of massive proportions. Standing over half the height of the pine trees that made up the forest around them was a gigantic creature made of Green Scales and Muscle, with sharp jagged teeth that were big an sharp enough to easily Crushand Tear apart any living creature he could think of, and the two eyes that seemed made of pure Goldglaring down at them almost as if they'd daring to disturb its territory.
Then as it rose its head to let out an earth shaking roar that made his body tremble for the sheer force that its voice had!
It's...It's a Dinosaur...
Forcing himself to regretfully shake off his childish amazement at seeming quite possibly the coolest thing to ever walk on this planet and focus back at the Monster still on his back that's going to kill him!
Luckily for him the Creature was still stunned by the display of Power the Dinosaur unleashed.
[] Now's his chance to break free from the stunned monster's foot and run through the Dinosaurs legs! The Monster would have to get past the Dinosaur to get to him!
[] Decides to stay still and be silent, there's no guarantee that he can get away in time before it could cut him down. Plus he doesn't want to even think about earning that Dinosaur's attention.
AN: Well sorry for taking awhile this was a dozy to write and it didn't help that I got distracted from time to time. So anyways what's your thoughts on these turns of events? Also remember if you have any questions feel free to ask.
[X] Decides to stay still and be silent, there's no guarantee that he can get away in time before it could cut him down. Plus he doesn't want to even think about earning that Dinosaur's attention.
Brian decided it'd be best to stay still and not be the first one to draw attention while still being at the mercy of the clawed creature and being stared down by a gigantic dinosaur. Taking a careful look back towards the creature on him, Brian noticed that it was terrified if its shaking was anything to go by, hopefully it was scared enough to flee without finishing it previous action of killing him.
And just as that thought was had, the creature fled.
Or tried to anyways.
As soon as the thing blasted of his back, which hurt by the way, there was a flash of green and a great wind that slammed the creature into one of the trees with an almighty crash breaking the tree in half which collapsing on it. Looking back to see the Dinosaur swing its tail back into it's prior spot it was clear as to what happened. Then the massive beast began taking slow and powerful steps towards the pile of toppled wood as the creature got to groggily digging itself out.
However, as a shadow overtook it the Creature could do nothing as it was stomped by the Dinosaur, who proceeded to lift its foot to stomp again, then again, and again. Over and over the reptile slammed its foot down upon the clawed monster, once it was finished it spun with great speeds to once more slam the creature with its tail and sent it high into the air and soon it crashed into the ground kicking up a large amount of dust.
When the dust cleared the state of the creature was in was revealed and it was horrible. Its once long menacing claws were broken stubs, its long limbs were broken and twisted messes of what they once were, and the worst was its face. It was completely crushed to the point that if its eyes didn't glow it'd be impossible to tell what it had once been. Although Brian was somewhat satisfied to see his would be killer in such a state, but that feeling was completely dwarfed by the fear that was building in his heart once more. That creature was a monster that could have slaughtered him with ease and even was about to, but in just a few seconds that weren't even enough time to fully collect himself, it was utterly crushed.
Looking back towards the Dinosaur he saw that the Beast had turned its head towards him and Brian felt the pressure from earlier return with even greater strength, pressing down on him with a force that is unrivaled by anything he had ever felt in his life!
Then it began to make its way towards him and that fear descended into despair that consumed him. So great was his terror and the overwhelming power that no matter what he did his limbs refuse to do anything but shake in place.
Brian's thoughts consumed themselves in panic as he futility tried anything that could get him out of this situation, however he those thoughts faded as his shadow darkened as a green light began faintly emit from above him and the sound of breathing came with it. He knew the Beast was above him and that now there was no escape, that this would be the end.
With this acknowledgment for a moment came apathy and clarity…

...Then utter FURY!
If I'm going to die I refused to be such a bitch about it!
With this new-found inner anger Brian broke off from the pressure holding him down to shoot to his feet and turned his gaze to meet the Dinosaur's and glared.
Brian almost missed it, but it seems as that the Dinosaur's eyes had widened as if surprised he could do anything. But he could have cared less what the overgrown lizard thought, and he was going to make sure this thing knew that too!

"If you think I'm just going to sit around and let you eat me, then you're out of your damn mind you bloody overgrown lizard!"
Unknowns to Brian when he let out this roar like shout, he emitted his own pressure that carried with it onto the Dinosaur making it flinch from the unexpected power and forced it to take a step back due to its suddenness of it all.
However, it didn't take long for it to regain its standing and it proceeded pulled its head back to the sky.
Then it returned a roar of it's own and with it the pressure return far greater than it ever could before! So strong was its force from the roar the trees were being blown back with some even breaking, the limp creature being sent tumble away, and even Brian felt himself being pushed back and dragging his feet through the dirt!
However, despite all this power Brian refused to let himself be pushed back down, refused to let these bellowing winds to put out his burning anger, and most of all refused to be helpless like that ever again!
Once the Beast's roar came to an end and saw that Brian weathered, but remained standing hold his glare firm. Then the increased pressure from the roar faded and the feeling of aggression was replaced with...amusement?
Confused Brian let himself relax abit, but held his gaze on the Dinosaur. Now having that the tension has decreed somewhat Brian finally has a moment to think about what to do next, but before he could get anywhere with that a voice spoke out.
"My oh my, it's been a truly long time since The Grand Fang has ever been this lively."
Wait what?
Turning quickly to his right, Brian turns to see an elderly man walking towards his direct. As he's about to warn the man before he get the dinosaur's attention, but he just raises his hand to stop him from saying anything
"No need to worry about me young one we're in no danger, The Grand Fang only wanted to give you a scare after taking care of the Evil Spirit. Isn't that right old friend?"
The old man receives a hissed from the Dinosaur who turns from him to Brian and after staring at him one last time, walks off past the old man.
"See? Wouldn't hurt a fly-well no, wouldn't hurt one until it annoyed him enough but that's besides the point."
While the senior began muttering to himself Brian just stood in place thinking over the confusing events that had just transpired and the information he just received.
"Grand Fang? Evil Spirit? I, just, what?"
Suffice to say it wasn't going well.
"Huh? Oh, yes the Evil Spirit! Thanks for reminding me Young One." Responding to what he had heard the Old Man began making his way to the still limp Monster, or rather Evil Spirit? Deciding to see what he was up to Brian followed him over to the fallen spirit.
"Ah The Grand Fang certainly doesn't know the meaning of restraint, still it's quite worrying to see another unnatural Evil Spirit again so soon after the last one." The Old Man muttered, before he started mumbling quietly under his breath as he clasped his hands as if in prayer.
As Brian was about to question what he was doing a sudden pressure was felt being emitted by the old man, but this time it felt...Softer? Warmer? Whatever was happening the feeling from the Old Man was it was most certainly more welcoming to what he has previously experienced. Also, more importantly…
Why is the old guy Glowing?!?
The Senior was beginning to glow in a Blue almost Silver light as an energy not too dissimilar to what the Older Spirit had been consumed by before transforming earlier and then it all started collecting into his clasped hands. After having enough the Old Man pushed his hands towards the Evil Spirit and the energy followed into it!
Suddenly the broken creature began squirming and pulsating, then dark smoke like clouds started to come off the creature as it if it was a fire, as that happened it began to shine brighter and brighter! As the white light started to get to a blinding point it stopped, and where the monster was the Old Spirit from earlier was resting on the ground with a small smile on his face!
Then the recovered spirit's eyes weakly fluttered open and giving a quite sorry towards Brian.
"Oh ho no need for that good sir, the young one holds no grudge, do you child?"
Brian quickly shakes his head, even if the Spirit had chased him he still remembers how it originally tried to have him get away, besides it would be hard to stay mad at someone looking like that.
"See? No resentment here sir, now I do believe it's time for you to go, you have people waiting for you after all."
This seemed to cause a weak fit of chuckles from the spirit, as he suddenly started floating away?!
"..Yeah, your right, they must be worried to death by now..thank you."
And with that the Spirit disappeared from sight as he ascended to the sky.
…..Did I just watch someone go to Heaven?
"Aaah it always warms this old man's heart to see someone peacefully pass on. Now with that out of the way, come Young One let's head to my home I could go for some hot coco right about now"
With that the Old Man motions to follow as he begins heading towards the direction where the Dinosaur had left before, listening to the Elder Brian began following behind before stopping upon suddenly realized two very important question.
"Why should I even follow you? Hell, who even are you!?!"
Freezing in his tracks the old man turns and blinks for a few moments before coughing into his fist in embarrassment.
"Sorry, where are my manners my name is Alden and it's a pleasure to meet you Young One, what is your name?"
Not use to many people being polite to him, he simply just let out a short "Brian." With a nod of confirmation the old man turned around and continued as he returned to his walk with Brian following.
"Ah Brian, a strong name. Anyways Young Brian the answer to the first part is simple. You have must have questions which only I have answers to and I rather give those when I have some delicious Coco in my hands."
Thinking on his words Brian couldn't deny what the Senior had said.
"Fair enough, old timer, fair enough"
Alden let out a chuckle at that as the two of you continued on your way and as time passed Brian began to enjoy the pleasant winds of the forest. Eventually however, while the Old Man had said he'd answer his question once they get to his home there was one question that bugged Brian enough that he had to ask now.
"Why do you call the lizard The Grand Fang?"
"Oh ho, be careful of calling him that in his presence Young Brian, The Grand Fang doesn't take kindly to insults."
"Guess how many Fucks I give?"
"Language! Anyways to answer your question that was what my Ancestor called him during their time together so long ago."
"Hmm, but doesn't The Grand Fang sound more like a title and less of a name?"
"Ah, your not the first to think that, but The Grand Fang has never taken well to being named."
As the conversation continued the two of them had ended up on a path after walking through the forest, which probably leads to Alden's Home.
"Earlier you said he was your friend right?"
"Quite so, my family have shared friendship with him ever since our Ancestor found him centuries ago, the problem is that the name given to him from Ancestor is all he has left of him nowadays."
...That's depressing
"However I believe he may let you finally give him a proper name, after all I've never seen him take such a liking to someone after just meeting them."
Brian stumbles for a second after hearing that, for the life of him he had no clue why the overgrown lizard would think positively of him.
"He likes me?"
"Yes, it was quite a surprise to me too! He hardly ever has that much fun when he's not doing something violent."
Figured the lizard loved to be violent.
After a walking in silence for a few minute to think about what he was going to try calling the overgrown lizard, before coming up with an idea.
[] "Eh I'll just call him Fang, less of a mouthful and still connects to his friend."
[] "I got it! I'll call him [Write-in]!
"Hmm Interesting I'm sure it'll go well. Ah come along Young Brian we're almost there!"
And with that the two continued on in silence as they made their way and just as Alden said his home came into view.
Honestly it was faaar better than what Brian was expecting it to be.
As the two got up to the house and Alden took his keys out and unlocked the door he mentioned Brian to follow him in.
"Here we are Young Brian, welcome to my home, make yourself comfortable in the living room while I go get some Coco."
And with that he was off. Deciding to do what he was told Brian made his way to the room that had a couch, after finding one he sat down and began thinking about what he should ask Alden about first.
