Eh, lost our job for this, might as well.

[X] Call the Stand Strong Society hotline. They run a tollfree chat for potential or current members, a live link for anyone in need. Anonymity sounds nice.

Anonymous chatting about the fact that our life just went to shit so hard there's stains on the ceiling might be best at the moment. No way Christoph's in any fit state to talk to Gahm, family, or god forbid an ex at the moment. And doing the practical thing and starting to make travel arrangements strikes me as too beep-boop-efficient.

No.

Really, REALLY not anonymous.

He seems well connected and may have some hints no where to go from here

I think there's a kind of important point that some people are missing here. Namely Christoph came home and stared at a switched-off TV for an hour rather than react to losing his job and home at all. Those are the actions of a very depressed someone who is waiting for the tiniest chink in their armour to collapse and become completely useless. A phone call sounds like just that. And me, I'd prefer the inevitable "my life is irreparably fucked" meltdown to happen on an anonymous helpline than with a kinda-sorta work friend. Calling Gahm can happen later, when Christoph isn't made of glass and tears.

Jeez, I sorta get what's going on, though it's frustrating. It's clear that they have something on everyone, and that the executives probably have broken fifty-times as many rules as any grunt, but because everyone's probably broken a petty regulation or two once, it means that anyone can be fired at any time for any reason.

I mean, I sorta expected it, since Shadowrun was a dystopia, but that still sucks.[1] I'm also pretty sure even turning on Gahm wouldn't have saved us, or not for long.

[1] Worst part is that there aren't even hints of anything ever getting better. Shadowrunners are just people who explicitly game the system, and other than them, because you're part of them in the game, there's no faction that's good, or even less-bad. Just factions that are even-more-bad. :V

So let's break down anonymously, and I suspect it's actually being monitored by someone who'll drag us off for parts or something. :p

(I admit, I'm feeling really pessimistic right now)

Christopher's entire narrative has been that of someone who is pretty far on the depressive e nd of the spectrum.

As such, venting to some state-run hotline in a nation of foreigners that he has never been able to form any sort of bond with - seven months in the country and a grand total of one acquaintance bordering on friend - is not going to help.

At all.

Ever.

Especially considering he was fired for not being bad at maximum social conformity and obedience to the rules.

So, all things considered I'd rather not have Christopher flagged as a threat to national security on top of already having been let go by a local corp.

As far as Gahm goes - yes, Christopher is one of those sad sacks who's being hung to satisfy the shareholders, but as Gahm says, he's got his back. Time to see if that holds up, or if Mr. Esser is going to turn his back on Korea and just leave Asia behind forever (to get murdered by vengeful Runners or something).

Right. I don't really trust Gahm right now, and lets face it we're gonna be distancing ourselves from Black Turtle regardless. Lets just find someone to talk to who won't really have much of an opinion of our lives and get their perspective.

Alright, guys, I know that Gahm is a tempting option right now. HOWEVER

Lets not stay shackled to Black Turtle and Gahm. There's nothing really we can get from them. And we have all these new options to explore now! Are we really gonna keep going right back to Gahm?

Out of the remaining ones, I've actually talked myself into looking at the Family option. I mean, we don't know that much about Esser's past. And we should take some time to establish that. And to get away from current events for a bit. So, changing my vote over to

[X] Call your family. You and Aunt Sarah haven't talked in awhile. A...really long while actually. That's as good a reason as any. Family is family right?

Lets find out who we were aside from a security executive. Where we came from, what we've done. Not just dial up Gahm, who is probably just out drinking all night with the others anyways

Part of you wants to do it. A gentle, fragile thing in the palm of your hand, part of you wants nothing more than to squeeze. To break it and grind it and crush it until it's mangled beyond all repair. And why shouldn't you? People like him and he seems to like you. But talking to him too long always gives you a headache, always drains you. You don't mind the quiet, you can deal with a little talk, but he's always, always, pushing you, teasing you. Treating you like you're his best buddy, his dearest friend when you're just part of his crowd. A semi-familiar face and really, that's all you want to be.

Would he even do the same for you? Protect you? Probably not. And really it barely even matters, because he isn't in this chair, melting away beneath the pressure. Pinned in place by the suits across the table. He isn't here, he doesn't have to feel the cracks running through his head. Feel them splitting and widening in his guts. Feel the butterflies beating their wings against his stomach, his throat, the red muscle of his heart.

You don't want this. You just want thing to be okay. You just want to hear that you did a fine job. That it wasn't your fault. That you've been doing good, been doing the best you could. That's all you want. That isn't so much right? That isn't so much to ask for is it?

Give them Gahm and get it. Roll over and spill your guts and-
So close... we came so close...:cry::cry:

So close to sacking the monster who made us do despicable thing and leave Emil without snuggles for the whole evening! Just you wait, Gahm Sang-chul! This is not over yet!!

That's a lot of pettiness...

Free at last! CorpSec jobs are for mooks who are killed off-screen anyway. Now that we are fired, our chances of survival went up drastically!

So long, suckers! Shadows, here we come!
