Mami is just as eager as Kyoko when you link into her essence to pull. Her leftover reluctance washes away with all doubt as she readies for battle.
Deep below, or perhaps above, Yuki floats in abrupt spurts to avoid Wrath's hammer blows. She swings her mallet at sharp angles to avert the dangerous attacks, using the Servant's momentum against her.
Burning trees crumble and break from mere proximity to their powerful strikes. The ground is torn up from heavy hooves tearing through, bubbling and hissing where creeks of acid pool.
They reached a stalemate. Wrath is relentless, but fails to break through Yuki's guard. Yuki can hold, but not fight back.
She can hear the unvoiced emotions in her alter ego's every roar. They echo within herself, that pain, fear, and anguish. All of them make weakness, but that weakness can be turned to strength if she just gets mad instead. Lashing out at others will cow them, stop them from thinking her easy prey.
All these unresolved feelings still keep their iron grasp on her heart. Where they are a hand, Yuki has merely pried a finger loose.
Then a shooting star outshines the firelight. It throws stark shadows, ramming into the Servant of Wrath from the side. Mami forms feet-first, pushing off their shared opponent and somersaulting to safety.
The blonde smiles confidently as she flies, firing a half dozen bullets from rapidly appearing muskets. Each one finds their mark in Wrath's chest, tearing into her oversized eye and gouging it out.
Wrath gurgles, switching attention for that crucial moment Yuki needs. Her mallet smashes into the beast's wrist, breaking it and tearing through. Just like Wrath took her leg, she takes Wrath's hammer clean off.
An ear-piercing shriek echoes across the clearing, but the angry swipe meets only air. Yuki teleports away, appearing next to Mami.
"Thanks for coming."
"I can hardly let my junior show me up," Mami returns primly, a musket at the ready. "How are you?"
"The mental pain is greater than the physical pain," Yuki retorts, a faint trace of warmth in her voice. She uses the chance to breathe while Wrath screams at the world. "But really, I appreciate it. We didn't get along so well."
"We did not," Mami agrees. "But I left that behind me along the way. And now that I see how hard you fight to be better than you were... I could hardly stand by doing nothing."
Yuki nods.
"Yesterday's enemies can be tomorrow's friends," she says.
Wrath's head snaps back to her in an instant. Resolution settles in Yuki's heart, snapping another finger off the hand strangling it. She wants to start moving again. Let bygones be bygones, rather than hold endless grudges.
She
wants to trust again.
A loud 'bang' underlines that thought, as Mami shoots Wrath in the face.
"I would love to call you friend," she says, and Yuki's heart soars.
When Wrath charges, she takes off to meet her with narrowed eyes and grit teeth. Hammer clashes against mallet, coming to a stop halfway each. A thunderclap of violence follows, blowing the flames around them outward.
And the fire begins to fade.
The behemoth before her loses power. Wrath's swings grow weaker, bit by bit, as Yuki matches her blow for blow. Mami continues to hammer the Servant with pin-point accuracy, gouging bloody tears into her flesh. Muscles like iron begin to tire under the barrage.
The magical girl avoids spurts of acid with a dancer's grace as she veritably flies across the battlefield.
"Line her up!" Mami calls, vaulting skyward.
Yuki kicks Wrath in the face with her one foot, then ties her down in viridian chains. The steel bends under the Servant's colossal strength, warps from the acidic tears and bile and blood, but they hold long enough.
"Tiro Finale!"
A cannonball hammers into the beast, ravaging her entire body. She tears a metres-long trench through the ground, coming to a stop right at Yuki's feet; almost every muscle in her body is torn, every bone broken, but that madness and defiance still burn in her black eyes.
Yuki looks down at her, at all those ugly feelings of hers. It does not feel like she conquered them. But for the first time in her life, she was stronger than them.
She slams down her mallet, shattering Wrath's head.
The body slumps, finally dead.
Mami jogs up to the two, ringlets bobbing gently with every step. She is perfectly pristine, if relieved.
"Well done," the blonde praises once she arrives. "We did it."
"Mhm."
Yuki still looks down at Wrath, absently opening and closing her fingers. Her shadow flickers.
"We did. But it... doesn't feel like a victory."
Mami looks to the broken body before her as well, not noticing the figure appearing behind them. A chain locks around her throat before she can speak reassurance, and a wooden stave runs Yuki through from behind.
"That is because you haven't won anything," the Hermit says idly, pulling out her weapon. It shortens, the tip covered in Yuki's blood. She gives it a flick and the chain holding Mami tears her out of existence. Uncharacteristic flickers of pink accompany the ethereal steel, as she abuses Madoka's power to do so.
Yuki fell back, holding her pierced abdomen with a grimace. Wrath's corpse twitches as her anger reignites, seeing the Hermit in the flesh again.
"You really should've learned the lesson by now, but some people are incorrigible," the Hermit tuts, "Friendship, old friend, is no more and no less than mutual exploitation. Trust does not factor into it."
"Of course it does," Yuki snaps back, gurgling a little as blood runs down her lips. She can stem the bleeding somewhat, the Hermit missed anything vital, but it hurts.
"Trust is how we relate to one another. It's like glass, sometimes muddy and sometimes clear. And once it's broken, it won't ever be the same again."
Yuki clutches her mallet more tightly. "But I'm sick of cutting my fingers on the shards. I'd rather form a new mosaic from them. And if you won't let me, then I'll beat the shit out of you first."
The Hermit's smile grows a tad bigger and equally more malicious. She raises her staff, ready for battle.

-Threat Rating:
WAW
-Threat Assessment: Cunning and malicious. Prefers to strike weakpoints and rile up her opponents to make mistakes. Knows magic, though not on par with Yuki.
Her favourite strategy requires weaker foes to transform into Staves, which is impossible here. So she empowers herself with Madoka's latent potential to match Yuki's abilities and power.

"It's true that the world is harsh. The weak need every advantage they can get, any scrap of power to obtain the happiness they seek. And even then, the world may still crush them underfoot. No quarter is given, no mercy awarded. The unfortunate suffer while the fortunate thrive."
"But I'm not weak. I'm not alone. And I don't fear failure."
"I see. Do you believe that what you have is enough to grasp the happiness you crave? Even though the hourglass quickly runs out of sand?"
"If the world ends indeed, then I will accept that. I will live my every moment until then in bliss, surrounded by the people I love. I already have everything I need. I appreciate your offer of help, but I have to decline."
"You're quite the impressive woman, Oriko."
"Thank you... and what of you over there? You have been here for a while."
"The road under the silver key's light was long. I am but resting my feet, and took a moment to observe what our shared dream now shows me."
