While Clown's voice was quite off-putting coming out of Thomas' mangled mouth, Diana recognized its musical lilt immediately and immediately felt a rush of emotion. She was extraordinarily happy to see Clown again, but at the same time her worry for Debbie and Thomas was only compounded by the knowledge that Clown had clearly been responsible for their injury. Diana, however, was not one to put aside her goals, no matter the reason, so she straitened up and explained her plan to Clown.
"Of course I would help you get into that room," Diana exclaimed as she tried to project earnestness on top of her growing unease, "but the lady over here," she says as she gestures to Debbie, "seems hurt and we really ought to help her first! Plus, I don't think Thomas is doing very well either. There is far too much of him missing."
"There is no need to worry about Thomas dear, he tried his best, but it just wasn't enough. No one will have to take care of him anymore." Clown glanced over toward Debbie before dismissing her entirely and rotating Thomas' face toward Diana. "This woman is not as important as those soldiers. They took you away from me, Diana! They take everything away and we need to make them pay for it! No one is allowed to have my children but me!" Clown snarled, slamming Thomas' jaw shut in emphasis and making a vicious cracking noise as fragments of teeth burst out of his mouth.
Diana, startled, tried to think of some argument that would let her help Debbie without angering Clown further (Clown never used to be angry, Clown used to be happy) before remembering her journey through the halls earlier with Thomas when the man had used a card of some sort to open the room she had been in and to get into the operations room. Perhaps Debbie had a similar card? Thomas appeared to be missing most of his pants (and his legs, and his…), so his pockets were probably gone with them.
"When the soldiers took me out earlier," Diana cautiously began, "they had some sort of card device that they used to open the doors. Perhaps Debbie would be able to open the door if we helped her wake up?" Diana looked pleadingly at Clown, whose face twisted in a manner that looked confused before it spoke up.
"She can open the door then, yes? Good, good we must make her do that. This is a good idea, Diana! You are such a smart girl!" Clown began dragging its body over towards Debbie with its remaining arm. "I can make her a picture, like before, I can show her that the door needs to be open and she can help us… Diana you need to pick her up. Make her see the art!" Clown then proceeded to dip its fingers into its open torso and coat them in blood before beginning to draw across the bottom of the wall.
"With my imagination, I can see it
With my soul bare, I can draw it
On canvas I can show it to you
I can show it to you"
"There's no beginning, nor an ending
Of the lines upon our minds
But in the end the only thing I have to do
Is show it to you
Show it to you"
