While you learned to write, I studied the blade.
It has been twenty years since the traitor Medivh opened the Dark Portal and allowed the Orcish Horde of Draenor to invade Azeroth. With the fall of Stormwind and the death of King Llane, the orcs seemed unstoppable. Fearing destruction, the various kingdoms and races of the Eastern Kingdoms finally set aside their differences and united to create the Alliance.

It has been eight years since the defeat of the Horde and the closing of the Dark Portal. The remaining orcs have been imprisoned in a system of interment camps across the kingdom of Lordaeron as their once bloodthirsty demeanor is replaced by lethargy. With the bulk of the Horde broken and its surviving war bands reduced to petty bandits, the danger that once held the Alliance together begin to disappear.

Old grudges resurfaced and disagreements over the handling of the surviving orcs eventually led to the complete fracturing of the Alliance.

Now, rumors of a renewed Orcish Horde and dark cultists have reached the mage kingdom of Dalaran.

Inventory
Verdant Sphere x 3
: A magical relic created through the manipulation and containment of dangerous fel magic. Allows the user to safely use fel magic by channeling precise amounts of the corrupting power directly into spells instead of through the user's own body. These safeguards can be bypassed to allow the user to directly siphon fel magic into their body in exchange for power. (+5 bonus to spells per sphere if actively siphoning fel magic)

Healing Potion x 5: A vial of red liquid that rapidly heals most nonlethal wounds.

Personal Journal: A small leather bound book you use to jot down important things and some of your idle thoughts. The pages are mostly blank except for the occasional notes on spellcrafting and reminders for upcoming events.

Map: An up to date map of the Eastern Kingdoms with all known highways and cities labeled.

Coin Pouch: You do not like to travel around with too much gold on you, so most of coins are silver with several copper pieces for trivial purchases and several gold pieces for important things.

Equipment
Dracon'alann, Crystallized Tear of the Lifebinder: A strange gem you recovered from the corpse of an elder red dragon during the Horde invasion of Quel'Thalas. It seems to pulse like a heart and radiates a strangely comforting warmth. After the battle, you had the gem placed into an elementium circlet that you wear as a reminder of the suffering these savage beasts inflicted on your people.

Great Staff of the Silvermoon Magistrix
: An enchanted Elementium staff crafted for you by the finest artisans in Quel'Thalas on the order of Prince Kael'Thas. The top of the staff consists of a large piece of arcane crystal orbited by four smaller pieces. The bottom of the staff consists of a short double edged blade that allows you to fight with the staff if necessary. (+10 roll bonus to spells)

Robes of the High Elven Blood Mage: A set of robes created using special spellweave cloth infused with powerful magic and enchanted to offer protection against most physical and magical attacks. (+5 roll bonus to spells, Automatically defends against all non-chaos or divine attacks with a score lower than 30)

House Firewing Signet Ring: An elegant truesilver ring with a small crystal vial containing a drop of magical water from the Sunwell. (+5 roll bonus to spells, lessens effects of arcane magic withdraw)

Kirion Tor Signet Ring: A simple steel ring with a piece of arcane crystal bearing the crest of the Kirin Tor.

Kael was a suprisingly nice guy before Arthas happened then, given that Quel'thalas was basically going full isolation at the time.

Kael in WC3, before Blizzard completely butchered his character, was a pretty cool guy. He put up with a lot of shit from Garithos and he was completely reasonable to pretty much everyone and even went out of his way to help Malfurion. He was loyal to Illidan because Illidan helped save his people from genocide and because Illidan was not really a bad person and his deal with the Burning Legion was pretty much limited to killing the Lich King, which Kael was more than happy with.

Blood Mage: 3
Necromancer: 1

You guys can also post some pictures to vote on.

[X] Sorceress
Kael is cool and all, but we can join up with him without having him as a mentor. Besides, Enchanting, Alchemy, and Inscription are really useful in more applications than just blasting away at enemies.
Lets see if I can get an image in...

The Blood Mage option would make your character a prospective leader of the High/Blood Elves and you will have a much closer relationship with Kael than you would for the other choices.

Sorceress would make you much closer to the Kirion Tor and make it easier to advance to the rank of Archmage and a leader of Dalaran.

Necromancer let's you be a leading member of the Cult of the Damned with the option of going lich later.

Battle Mage is pretty much your standard knight character with magic. The upside is that you get to be involved with Krasus, Rhonin and the Dragonflights much sooner.

Ah damn. Sorceress is the most interesting talent/skill wise, but Blood Mage is the most interesting 'cause Kael and the Blood Elves. Hmm... nope, sticking with Sorc, we can work our way up the ladder the old fashion way.

[X] Necromancer. For the Lich King

I wanna see how we do with the badguy corner. How many quests out there actually have us furthering the whims of a master with our kind of quirkiness? That and I'm kinda fond of Arthas' character in general personally.

I want us going down the Blood Mage route because we have the common sense needed to have Kael'thas restore the Sunwell immediately upon acquiring M'uru.
