Well, I do try to make those crossovers. Of course, I probably look fairly obsessed and insane on FF.net (as I'm the only author in the Scion section.)Khaos said:My problem with the Scion verse is that I don't know Scion, and I dare say taht it is not a very well know franchise, personally, I won't read scion-fics unless it's a crossover with another media I know.
Well, a *little* encouragement is appreciated. I got only a single review on FF.net. I was seriously wondering if everyone hated it for some reason.mkire said:I rarely have more to say than 'i like this, please continue writing'. and that sort of thing isn't very constructive, so i simply don't say it.
Pretty dang epic for a Demigod, but quite doable with Arete Crafting (have an effective 51 dots of skill on a 1 to 5 scale *should* mean something, dammit.) Probably a level 5 Relic by itself, but very, very large so would take a very long time and massive resources.Doomsought said:A question up to anyone whom has played, how would constructing a constructing a cultural orbital run game-wise? (Lets say by a Hephaestus/Vulcan scion)
I actually did some writing for that today (and spotted four typos in the downloaded copy, so that makes it hard to fix easily.)katreus said:It's fine, but it's not one of the Sheila story I'm particularly interested in. I like the Honorverse Scion story better.
It seems the 'more original' characters of the players from my game don't catch people's attention, though some people like my portrayal of Dolph (the Son of Hel).Ryune said:You know, I thought I was just strange for a while. I enjoyed all of the other Scion stories immensely but the home universe one just didn't click for some reason.
The reactionist Graysons actually have two nice targets for their hate. In a lot of ways, they hate Sheila more than Honor, but Honor is an easier target. Honor actually lives on Grayson and is a Steadholder, while Sheila is just a foreign officer (who happens to be assigned to the Mantie fleet helping protect Grayson.)gladiusone said:No disrespect intended, mate. I'm just reading your non-cross story now, and I'm having fun. Nice mix in your Band.
But I'm really interested in how you deal with the highly Christian Monotheists of Grayson handling the war goddess working for the Manties. Should be interesting, in the Chinese sense
Glad to know that. Its a good fic.arthurh3535 said:
I do enjoy the story, but I admit I like the crossovers better. Any chance we'll see more of 'The Other Path' any time soon? I like the way Sheila changes the course of DC history, there.arthurh3535 said:It seems the 'more original' characters of the players from my game don't catch people's attention, though some people like my portrayal of Dolph (the Son of Hel).
As in post-Flashpoint, where Superboy is sort of a bad guy, and Wondergirl is a thief, or do you mean post 52?arthurh3535 said:Other Path is probably going to be rolled over into a Post-52 x-over a bit, most likely later this year (when Wonder Woman finishes her first story arc.)
They are in a war fighting for their lives. And it's not like she runs around saying 'convert or die!'gladiusone said:You mean they're using reason? My, Grayson reactionaries are improving ...
Post Flash-point. Let's just say that story could be a little complicated.Prince Charon said:As in post-Flashpoint, where Superboy is sort of a bad guy, and Wondergirl is a thief, or do you mean post 52?
I'm sorry to see that. Well, I'll start reading it, anyway, but I admit I'll be biased, due to hating a great deal of the new timeline.arthurh3535 said:Post Flash-point. Let's just say that story could be a little complicated.
Well, I don't think I ever said that there was nothing worthwhile in the new continuity. I'd havearthurh3535 said:Well, Sheila's slightly 'out of context' in issue, even if Cassie is her dimensional-doppleganger (I hadn't realized that they were both modern, blond daughters of Zeus of roughly the same age.
Nowis actually my favorite change of post-Flash Point. No more 'power of the gods' given to one random Amazon.Diana being the daughter of Zeus in the new continuity
I'm sorta caught in a scene that I want to have fairly match canon Honorverse while showing that it is a fated moment, so Sheila can't really affect it and I'm not sure how to write that correctly.'Lost One, it is time for thine test,' a deep, dissonant mental voice inflicted itself as if from the darkest nights. 'You must learn sacrifice.'
Between one blink of absolute midnight and another, all of the treecats disappeared.
"That... is not a good sign," the demigoddess said worriedly.
The deep snarls of Hexapuma off in the distance reverberated like saw-blades of obsidian grinding into bedrock mountains.
"What the hell did he mean?" Daria asked worriedly.
"Considering VC and Atlas are also gone, the only thing I see left around here to sacrifice is you, Lt. Golds. And that is not going to happen. We need to get to high ground." With that, they took off through the deep forest.
Well, someone has to make a very big sacrifice (and if you know your Harrington books, you probably have a good idea who I am talking about). I'm sort of aiming 'supernatural things distract' *and* basically Sheila/VC feeling something actually actively stopping them fromDoomsought said:Laws of probability go wonky. The opposite happens for those supported by fate as well.
Wait. That scene already? I thought the last that happened in your series was basically book 2. What happened to Short Victorious War and Field of Dishonor?Doomsought said:Its been a while, wither can't remember it or haven't got to that book.
She has too much free time. She only needs to sleep once a month. Which is why she was able to research the schniz out of Voldemort and know his real name.Yog said:Nice new story! I'll leave a detailed review later in fanfiction review section, but for now - will we see technomantic revolution with acasual processors utilizing time-turners and matter replication and stuff? This iteration of Sheila seems to be technologically inclined and Harry Potter does have a huge potential for tech creation and abuse.
Also, Weasleys colonizing space.
Oh, no. That's like about 1/3 or so. Lots of crap in there that I probably will never post.mkire said:Arthur, i greatly respect your ability to write, are all those stories in your ff.net folder that you're working on?
Yeah, I was going to post that here. I was on a serious 'posting' roll for a bit. This is Sheila being dumped into the Age of Conan MMO 'world'. Hopefully Liasundur is an interesting enough Cimmerian barbarian OC.zorb5 said:Scion of hyborian age -new Sheila story

The longest one where she interacts with Tony is actually a Civil War/Secret Invasion story I have. Sheila is not happy about her civil liberties being trampled on.BF110C4 said:I can't wait to see what Sheila can do alongside Tony Stark, and maybe later on with Thor, I can bet that his reaction to a tecnologically savy demigoddess is going to be memorable.
That's a rather interesting viewpoint on the stories. While I try to write Sheila being *involved* in the stories... Harry Potter is still the one everyone is *really* interested in (for example). I also tend to write bad things can happen to her...Ramenth said:Arth, I remain respectful of your ability to write. The content still seems like a bog standard 'Look how awesome my character is I'm putting them in everything' type of writing most people grow out of when they leave high school, but at least you write it well.
Thanks!Prince Charon said:I'm liking the new fics. Randomly checked your FF.net page while waiting for SB.com to be available again, found an enjoyable time.
Sort of wondering what Sheila would do to Star Wars (though that has a whole bloody lot of eras to play with) or F/sn, right now, but you've got so much stuff I'd like to see more of, it hardly matters which you update, or what new fic you start.
