SCIENCE WORLD: A CRASHED GENIUS ON AN ALIEN WORLD

If you guys want to set up an actual drone production line, can I suggest we finish salvaging from the robotics lab first, so we can get the best stuff from it we can? And micromanaging the drones because we just saw that we get better results from salvaging if we do it, as nothing is damaged by clumsy drones.

Also have some of them looking for water, because that gets some benefit from micro-management as well. As sources of water are the busiest regions for animals and civilisation (if there's any on this rock) primarily settle around it. Which means there's better odds of an 'incident' damaging a drone or revealing ourselves before we're ready if we don't take care.

Why go out Ourselfs When We Can Have ROBOTS do it For us.

Metal and Muscles
While your drones busy themselves outside the ship, you get to work hacking together a prototype chimerabot. First things first, the central core. You take a robotics battery, and glue it to a bracing skeleton of metal. Beneath it, you run wires along the skeleton, emulating nerves, and then you dunk the whole thing in your programmable cell bath. Marshalling together muscles that run on electricity isn't too hard - everyone's heard of the frog's leg experiment, after all - and the overall structure isn't too complex. You stick in a circuitboard with an attached camera and a wifi node and you're done.

Though your robot arm isn't too useful at making more of these quickly, you only have a few more circuitboards remaining, so you go through the rest of your supplies by hand, resulting in a messy, handcrafted kind of product that you quite enjoy. Half of them are using laser battery packs anyway, so you pull out the focussing lenses from a pair of broken laser rifles, repurpose some of the charred circuitboards, and give them built-in laser pistols. And while you're up to that, you might as well splice in some sunflower so that they can be solar-recharging…

When you come back to yourself, there's another half-dozen biomechanical drones in front of you, you've torn apart your kitchen blender for the motor in it, the remains of the broken shock rifles have been spinally mounted on the two of the drones, and you have no idea where you got the circuitboard for the helicopter drone. Fugue does that.

You finally remember to check your tablet, and the news from your drones outside is mixed. The thick underbrush and foliage is making it difficult for your scout drones to cover much ground at all, so you're still as blind to the wider world as ever. The ones you left on ground-clearing have managed to cut and burn away enough ground to make the outside of the ship reasonably safe, though.

You order your new drones to…

[ ] Start clearing forest, slash-and-burn style. You need space to build on.
[ ] Keep ranging out in search of water, and this time be more weapons-free about it.
[ ] Keep searching for water, but be quiet about it.
[ ] Build a perimeter fence around the ship.
[ ] Send a flying drone to image the whole area from a height.
[ ] Salvage the remains of the Robotics lab.
[ ] Salvage the hull using the arc cutter.

You personally:
[ ] Set up a lab to synthesize spider-silk for you.
[ ] Sit back and micromanage your drones.
[ ] Go through your room and get it set up as a HQ.
[ ] See what can be salvaged from the bathroom.
[ ] Focus on building Wonders using what you've salvaged so far. WRITE IN one or more Wonders built using items from the spreadsheet.
