Feast upgrades not to Festival, but Feast 2.
Forest costs 800 as a Greater Domain. You can buy it, but it's pricey. If you think that's too expensive, Trees cost 450 as a Major Domain.

[X] Write In: inspire a hero
rather than simply have a person speak for us with words let us instead choose a protector for our people to protect them and show them the proper way to live through action empowering them and blessing the village through their actions (this goes along with our minor fairytale domain and is more inspiring someone with tales of greatness than directly empowering them (for now at least) what they chose to do is up to them but it'll in turn fuel a fairytale for others and inspire them. a self-perpetuating cycle)

any problems with this?

[X] Choose a Prophet
[X] Save our points

I would suggest talking to someone and getting info (in universe and out) before spending a bunch of points. If we get faith by protecting people and they need protection, then we know what to focus on. Alternately we get a prophet and see if we can grant magic or boost their aura or something to prove they really have divine backing.

Should we make a god of technology

I'm thinking more like god of Aura. Aura is thing that lets heroes fight giant monsters with basic swords and other weapons, and people with aura can awaken Aura in others. If we can boost people's aura and base stats, they wouldn't really need technology (thought there's nothing stopping a follower from becoming an engineer and making their own tech).

Alternately, we have fairy tales as a domain already. If we branch out into magic we can give them access to real spells and become the god of mages or whatever.

On an interesting note, Zeus the head honcho of the Greek pantheon has hospitality as one of his domains. Namely, the sacred hospitality that says you must treat strangers with respect (as if they may be gods in disguise).

god of heroism!

fairytales lends itself to this and if any world needs heroes it's remnant

a subtle sort of magic built up by the faith of the people in each other

Reason for trying to buy Greater Domain forest. It is to know what exactly is happening inside our area of influence, not just the village as the area surrounding the village is a forest. We would know what kind of plants there, where is the good place for hunts, the Grimm activity, people moving around, that sort of thing. Forest will also give us a solid method of defending and retaliating (Just picture Hasirama Senju if not now then in the future) as right now we are currently completely reliant on the villagers to protect themself.

The reason we wanna go for heroism is it takes the dependace of the village and let's them make their own choices. More to the point out domain is far less important than the worshipers Themselves. The forest will eventually give way to civilization the tales of heroism will live on forever

for the record, I'm not against getting a stronger domain in the forest. I just think inspiring a hero first and having the village itself be stronger is better than trying to go with something that isn't as adaptable as humanity is. add in the farmers themselves getting a blessing we might get a double whammy of a farmer doing something amazing.

I think by inspiring a hero we take a lot of the early stress off of the humans worshiping us and it makes them less dependant on us as well. plus people don't like being told what to do. we should embrace the chaos early on and let humanity stretch its legs before we try to expand beyond the village.

Domains are divided into five categories, each with their own price. Lesser Domains, which cost 75 Belief, are very specific or otherwise niche - mushrooms, dandelions, owls, geometry. Minor Domains, at the price of 130 Belief, are less incredibly niche, but are still fairly specific - Ice, Oasis, Fairy Tales, or Starvation. Major domains, which cost 450 Belief, are important concepts to people - mathematics, writing, food, or poison. Greater Domains (for 800 Belief Points) get into concepts, such as Family, Freedom, or Past. They may also be something very important but non-conceptual, such as Aura, Technology, or Dust. Finally, there are Noble Domains, which cost 2000 Belief Points. Noble Domains embody an entire concept, an entire rule of life or reality. Good. Evil. Chaos. Order. Sun. Moon. Magic. Life. Death. Soul.

A greater domain seems a bit much for that. If we did do that a minor one should suffice. A greater domain seems like it trends more towards making us the God of Forests, which is eh.

remember buying forest as a greater domain will make us god of all forests as a concept. if we do go for the forest domain i'd argue we should make it a minor one and have it be THIS specific forest.

so out of curiosity is there any hard limits to what we can do within our domains? or is it more that once we have the domain to a high enough level we can do anything we imagine within it?

because if we do expand into forest domains I would like to try combining it with our farming domain to help the humans make a food forest. which is essentially just a forest that's been cultivated so that all plants inside it are either edible or medicinal. add in the fact that the extra food in the forest will draw in prey animals and we can make our people have a very easy time getting the food they need.

but with that said I do think going the hero will help us a lot in the long run. by giving humanity the means to become greater than themselves we start a positive feedback loop that has humans doing great things, inspiring others to do great things and pushing them to advance far faster than their adversaries taking great leaps forward with us only selecting the traits that we want to seem mimicked by the humans later down the line and seeing that people who have those traits pass on their beliefs through the culture in the form of fairytales.

that said I'm actually interested in what other people's thoughts on this are so if you wanna discuss what you wanna do and why I'd be very appreciative

Population Growth
For Your Information:

Food, as a mechanic, influences your population growth. A surplus of food will lead to more people joining and/or more babies being born! A shortage of food will lead to a morale hit and a reduction in population growth. If extreme, population may be lost from people starving, or leaving to look for better prospects elsewhere.
