[x][NEWS] Watch the News
Actual aliens are invading and there's even a question about whether Harry will want to find out whatever is available about them? I'm not eager to pick up a "willfully ignorant" or "unobservant" trait, so of course he's watching the damn news.
[][ACT] You still haven't seen Dudley... Vernon and Petunia don't seem to be worried though...
Super lucky! Maybe he's staying over with his rat-faced friend, P-something? If he's still not around by evening Harry had better start looking into it just so he's not blindsided by whatever they're getting up to, but for now it's convenient.
[x][ACT] Go and Play at the park
Go go power ranger! A little time to get familiar with whatever form this arrives in before things start picking up would be good, no? And IC, maybe he is a little more curious than relieved about Dudley's absence after all... though he might as well enjoy the park if Dinky-Duddums' gang isn't there to ruin it.
Mei is such a common Anime name, especially for the tomboy stereotypes, that it could be from any of Ranma 1/2, Salior Moon, or Card Capture Sakura. I'm aware enough of the first two to know they both have reoccurring female tomboy stereotype characters called Mei.
She's just your average 90's anime martial artist. She's not in the same league as anyone in the Nerima Wrecking Crew. But she's good enough to not have to worry about bully's or anything in these parts.
Translation. She's insanely good at [insert martial style here], has access to her Chi, and can kick the ass of any non super human six ways to Sunday, all while calmly drinking her tea, and not spill a single drop.
She's just your average 90's anime martial artist. She's not in the same league as anyone in the Nerima Wrecking Crew. But she's good enough to not have to worry about bully's or anything in these parts.
But I'm just not feeling this update. My brain is just not pouring out words today. So this is probably going to be a little bit shorter than usual.
It was with a strange sort of... solidarity... that's not the word, but it happens to be the best word that you can think of.
It was with a strange sense of togetherness, a feeling that echoed slightly across the whole of your family. You, your aunt, and your uncle were all sat at the table, each with your eyes hooked to the screen in front of you.
To think that the three of you could be in a room without that pervading sense of anger, of frustration, and of resignation cloying the air around you. Prior, you'd never have thought that such a thing was doable. Of course, all it took was an alien invasion for the sole purpose of taking over the world to do so.
But... you know... progress?
The three of you watched in silence as a group of people approached the camera, gathering close to the Cameraman, who seems to have decided to record not just the court of the Oni King, but the entire trip.
Once all the gathered people had collected together, they approached the ship. It was an actually kind of cool looking thing. Shaped almost like a wing, and sort of like the swoosh thing that that American shoe company used for their logo.
Nike. That was the name of the company. The ship was fatter at the bottom, thinning as it stretched up and backwards. The outside of it was a bright shiny looking silver color with darker grey rectangles across the very bottom of the ship. The whole of the ship glowed slightly, as it wavered slightly in the air, a soft hum all the sound that the ship was giving off to show that it was not only on, but that the ship wasn't even touching the ground.
After a few moments, the front of the ship shimmered, and with a soft red glow, a door was outlined. It split, swinging down like a hinge, revealing the inside of the ship. One by one, the people who came to speak with the Oni entered into the ship, and with them came the Cameraman. Once each and every person had entered into the ship, the door swung back up closed. The inside of the ship looked just as amazing and alien as the outside of the ship did.
It was a very minimalist design, something as far from the American shuttles that you had seen a video on at school as you could imagine. There was plenty of room for everyone inside, instead of it being cramped. It was also just as quiet on the inside as it was on the outside. Little more than a soft hum rolling through the ship. You watched as the Camera man turned, revealing that in the short time that he had been studying the inside of the ship, it had already left.
The window,, as it were, seemed to simply be a part of the walls that slowly turned transparent, before fading back into opacity on the other side. The ship was already high above London, arcing through the air like an arrow set loose of it's bow. And it was less than a minute before the ship started to slow, the skyline of Tokyo already coming into view.
In less than sixty seconds, the ship made half way around the world. It was amazing.
It was terrifying.
This was a show of power by the aliens, just as much as anything else was.
When it came down to it, there wasn't much that we could do against the aliens if they decided to just conquer earth.
Boarding the mothership, you watched as the group was moved through long hallways. Really interesting was the sheer number of different aliens that the group passed. Strange humanoid aliens that looked almost perfectly human, aliens that looked nothing like humans. The sheer amount of diversity was amazing.
That was a word that kept showing up when seeing what these aliens could do.
Amazing.
But really... was it? How did you really feel about all these strange aliens, and everything that they did.
[][FEELS] Xenophile
- In the future, those people close to you would eventually come to describe you as a total Xenophile. It wasn't just a love of all things aliens - you adorded them, their technology, and the societies that you have come to be exposed to. In a very serious way, you believe that the aliens are better than humanity... And when it comes down to it, you'd likely side with any aliens against humanity.
[][FEELS] Aliens are Awesome
- The Technology that the aliens have shown is just... downright extraordinary. They've shown themselves to be far more advanced than Humanity, and you are excited to see that Earth has entered into the galactic stage.
[][FEELS] Aliens are cool
- These are Aliens. From Space. That is so cool!
[][FEELS] Don't Care
- You have no strong feelings on this one way or the other. The aliens are different from you, that isn't good. That isn't bad. That just means that they are not the same.
[][FEELS] Nervous
- These aliens are more powerful than humanity, and that leaves Earth at a disadvantage... Which worries you.
[][FEELS] Scared
- An Alien race has come to invade the Earth. No matter how they have tried to pretty it up, they are still different from you, and that means you cannot trust them.
[][FEELS] Xenophobe
- As they say in that game of Dudley's, Do not suffer the Xeno to live.
After a while of moving through the ship, the gathered group started to encounter other groups, each from different places on the planet. The people of Earth gathered together... sort of clumping all into a huge nervous looking group. The cameraman did his best to stick in the back of the group, trying to keep the whole of the group on camera, while also doing his best to show off the ship.
"Gak!" The man called out, as the image tipped, as the camera started to fall. "No!" The three of you could hear, before the camera came to a bobbing stop, with the cameraman himself in frame. Obviously, it wasn't him who grabbed it, but it still looked to be worked, so it probably didn't crash into the ground either.
"majQa' pagh, Human," A voice says, as the camera lifts back up, "tlhoS SoH qet je rom qabDaq mIllogh qonwI' DoH volchaH chuH tlhIj jIH." The camera shifts around, revealing a strange figure.
"Uhhh..." The Cameraman said, obviously completely unsure how to react to the alien before him. She floated forward, and placed something in the man's hands, and with a jaunty wave, continued on her way.
There's a short laugh, as another alien claps the cameraman on the shoulder, based on the way that the camera jerks. Another alien steps into view of the camera, a great dog shaped humanoid with scaly skin.
It pointed the cameraman along, and helped him through the corridors, continuing to chuckle the whole way through.
Finally arriving at the throne room, you see the various people milling about, a large table has been set along one side of the room with food and drink.
...
And one by one, different people end up approaching, speaking with the giant Oni... a sight that actually makes you realize just how much bigger he is than an ordinary human. There he is, sitting on his throne, and one of the people has approached. You don't recognize the language he's speaking in, but even standing tall, the man doesn't come up to the giant's knee.
...
...
Your attention is starting to waiver. It's... actually kind of boring to see this.
...
"Excuse me, your Majesty, but I must protest your arrival in this system." A voice says quietly, soft and feminine tones easily cutting through the mull of the voices. There is something really interesting about the voice, a... quality to the voice, one that you can't place.
...Oh, that might be the cause of it.
Sitting in front of the throne... is a cat.
"Oh, a Mao." The giant says, "I was unaware that there was a Mao in the system."
"This system is not a free system, it is under the purview of the Celestial Lunar Empire." The cat says primly, and the King of the Oni blinks, looking... surprised.
"I... Mao... Tell me, when was the last time that you have had communications with your home system?" The question took the cat off guard, but it gave a short bow before responding.
This was the strangest thing that you have ever seen. "The last time... was during The Great Fall. Thousands of years ago." There was an almost... sad look on the King of the Oni's face.
"I see." The giant stands, raising a hand, and motioning with it's hand. "Captain, I would have your assistance. This conversation is... not one for the ears of others. It is of a private nature. Mao Emissary, come along with me, so we may speak in private. Captain, please continue to answer the questions in my steed until we return."
Following this, you went on a jog.
It was really, really windy, and you have an odd feeling that you missed something really interesting.
Day 3 is complete, next time - Day 4!
Tomorrow Morning...

[X][ACT] Look for Dudley......Why though...
-[X] Tell your aunt or uncle that your going to check for your cousin.
Where did he? Also, Dudley plays warhammer 40k since the quote from the FEELS' section under xenophobia is a huge clue.
Edit: Added write-in. Hope it will be accepted. Tell Uncle and Aunt your going to go check on him. Don't want to disappear ourselves.
[x][FEELS] Aliens are cool
I could be talked up a level on this pretty easily, but the simple emotional reaction seemed more true to Harry's age.

I want to go to the park as that's the most likely seeming place to get Rangered up, but Dudders missing for two days now with no mention by his parents is too odd to go uninvestigated. Clearly this is a job for a child, since the adults are all busy being useless!
Nice touch with the female oni's dialogue. It didn't occur to me that first contact with aliens would require translators. That detail tends to get hand-wave away in the source material. The dog image feels familiar, like something from power rangers, but I don't remember which one.
