Tiebreaking Roll: 1d2=2. [X] Focus and observe (Reveal stats of the Mutant Crow).
You stand there and gaze at the mutant as it hisses at you, gripping your hatchet tightly. It seems fast, despite its bulk, and pretty sturdy. It does seem to be vulnerable to attack, though, if you can get past its wings.
You fall to the ground and clutch your skull as pain rips through your head, grip only tightening on your hatchet as you shake yourself. Come on, Leon, pull it together! Due to this, though, you fail to notice the mutant crow rearing up to give another attack. One of it's feet raises up, gleaming with a verdant fluid, slashing down on you!
You manage to roll away just in time for the attack to connect with the floor of the barn, standing up as the crow gives another hiss. Your tendons rewind themselves as your flesh regenerates. [+4 HP]. You crack your neck, hefting your hatchet, ready for another go.
... hold on. It has 5 defence. Our savage strike does 7 damage. We're only gonna do 2 damage if we hit. Even if we breach, we would only do 4/5 damage after, depending on if we round up or down (GM?)
IF we still want to fight, we have to keep throwing the hatchet. This might be one we can't win though, we'll see in a turn or two.
EDIT: I would normally feel pretty bad for this, but you two voted only ten-ish minutes ago, and you both want to fight like me; it's just the fact that savage strike isn't the way to go, so I would please encourage to change your vote to throwing the hatchet. Thanks, and sorry for the ping (if editing in pings even works). @Random Lurker@Zeroth Jupi

-[x] Throw The Hatchet At It!
You look at your hatchet for a moment, press your chapped lips to the blade, and then rock your arm backwards. Please work... you think, spinning it for a moment, before throwing it right at the crow's dumb neck! Necks! Whatever!
Your hatchet cleaves between the mutant crow's twin heads, the beast roaring in pain as it stomps on the ground. It then launches towards you, beaks rearing back to try and peck the life outta ya.
You are able to roll out of the way just in time, huffing a little as you stand. The force of the mutant's charge dislodged the hatchet as it clatters to the ground, yellowish fluid pouring out of the bird's wound, the crow shakily standing as its feathers ruffle.
Special Effect: 1d100 = 13 (Yep)
You notice the bleeding and crack your neck. You have work to do. Your flesh regenerates even more, your earlier wounds closing up. [+4 HP]

-[X] Keep grabbing and throwing the axe, until something weird happens, or our hp falls below 25.
Does this work?: Instinct Checks; 33 vs. 20 (Yes)
Something weird?: 1d100 = 19 (No)
After several attempts, hits, misses, and down-right critical wounds, you've managed to fell the Mutant Crow. Slices and blood coats the enormous bird as it falls to one side, breathing its last, your hatchet buried into one of its heads, the other having fallen off due to the amount of punishment you've dealt. As you wrench your blood-soaked tool from the creature's skull, you are... compelled, by the sight of gore. Your senses sharped, your eyes dilate, as you stare at the body of your opponent.
Yes, I would prefer keeping humanity; No, that doesn't mean I will always go for humanity options (... maybe ), I just don't want us to go off the deep end so quickly.
You stare at the corpse for a moment before sighing, shaking your head. No. Not today. [+5% Humanity]
Gripping your hatchet, you scrounge about the area and come up with nothing more than a piece of bone. Might be usable as a club, or even as a source of nourishment if you're desperate.

Memories of your battle flash through your mind, and after a moment, you sigh. Things are only going to get tougher from here on out. You need to be ready. You need to get stronger. Otherwise the day will come when you're on the other end of a hatchet, just like that crow. Survival of the Fittest. Maybe you should try using your hatchet to...

I suggest we get toxic spit. Extra skills are the way to go in sonny until there's no more we can get (or we reach move cap), and the ignore defence plus the damage over time will help us out a lot, given we experienced a bit of an issue with an enemy that had just a measly 5 defence.
For stats... Eh. I think some defence would be good. It will be especially helpful for when we face multiple enemies/multi-hit attacks.
As for our action... @Megaman201 how are you going to handle hp after battle? Will we be back to full, or will we still have some damage?
EDIT: Oops, didn't notice the end text. ignore me
