It is the year 2047 November 8, two years since Cain unleashed Nuke, a highly addictive and pleasurable designer drug, into the streets of Detroit. While Cain has been long since dead the relatively easy-to-create narcotic still remains as his legacy. While Detriot has been able to rid itself of its debt to OCP by letting it privatize the wealthy sections of the city, the mega-corporation still controls its police department and is enacting plans to create Delta City by privatizing Detriot itself, by whatever means necessary.

You are Officer Alex J. Murphy known to the criminals and general public as Robocop. After being gunned down by Clarence Boddicker and his gang, OCP used a clause within their contract with the police to legally obtain and use his body to create the first Crime Prevention Unit. Your brain, spinal cord, heart, and face were all that remained, implanted into a 6-foot-tall, 450-pound cybernetic body protected by a titanium shell, laminated with kevlar. You are nothing more than property to the mega-corporation and must follow these three directives in order to perform your duties.

  1. Serve the Public Trust
  2. Protect the Innocent
  3. Uphold the Law

Chapter 1: A Pleasant Memory
Location
NorthEast
"Come on honey! We are going to be late!"

You never could fully master the art of tying a necktie. Normally you would have a slip-on one or a clip-on bowtie, but the cat had hidden or destroyed them. "Almost done honey."

Grabbing your coat you head out of your bedroom, seeing your son fiddling with his shirt collar.

"Something wrong there sport?"

James looked up to his father. "This feels itchy."

"Probably too much cornstarch. We'll put some lotion on it before we go."

You reach out to pat your son's head to assure him of your intentions, but it wasn't yours that reached out. You look down to see a black, glossy hand, fingers, and wrist.

Confusion and shock take hold of you. "What the hell?"

Your love, Ellen, comes into view. "Murphy, it's time to go."

"Go where?"

Ellen rushes to you, grabs your shoulders, and shakes them shouting, "Murphy!"

The sounds of gunshots activate your echolocation programming, creating a 3D map of the area and people within your mind. You open your eyes to see your partner looking at you worryingly and shouts over the gunfire.

"Murphy, are you alright!?"

A basic systems check quickly reveals no major damage.

"I am fine Anne, thank you for asking."

You remember that you and Lewis were sent out to investigate a rumor of suspicious activity in one of the many derelict factory sectors of Old Detroit. The plan was for Lewis to take one end of the building while Murphy would take the other and both eventually meet in the middle.

Quickly assessing the situation, you find yourself lying prone on a pile of rubble on the factory floor. You look to see your cruiser is a burning hulk. Ahead of you was Lewis returning fire from behind a bulldozer, no doubt brought in to provide cover by your partner.

The echolocation system revealed six shooters firing on your location. Two on an equipment platform above the remaining four on the floor taking shots from behind the cover of assembly machines.

Action:

[ ] Shoot to kill

[ ] Shoot to disable

[ ] Scan Assailants

Author's Confession
This is my first quest, so everything is going to be a learning experience as I have zero ideas of what I am doing or how things are going to go.

I have never been a QM before, so please bear with me as I frantically try to craft a story and faithfully write these characters. Along with trying to figure out other things.

Hopefully, this will be fun for all parties involved.

[X] Scan Assailants

Rising up from the rubble and join your partner, drawing your trusty Auto 9 from your hip.

"Are you alright?" The scans showed that indeed she wasn't injured, but you have relearned that it is sometimes good to ask others to show you care.

Lewis replied to you while switching magazines, "I'm fine all things considered, but if we don't deal with these guys soon that might change."

You decide it is best to get a look at who exactly was shooting at you. Might give you a tip as to why they are here and work out who is the most dangerous threat. "Stay here for a moment. I will see what we are dealing with."

Staying behind the bulldozer you look out between the engine grill and blade to survey and see whose lead slung ire you have drawn and upon seeing you one of their number shouted, "It's Robo!", their number of shots intensifying though striking harmlessly off your body.

Your scanning systems automatically take stock of the immediate threats, presenting information on race, facial features, height, weight, clothing, and armament. No discernable tattoos or clothing markings that would affiliate them with a gang are found. The databanks informed you that the crooks were using 9mm rounds delivered via knockoffs of Smith Wesson Equalizers. While scanning the remainder of the interior you notice a seventh man near the back taking out a loaded RPG-7.

You shout, "RPG!", to warn Lewis of the threat while your mechanical reflexes take aim and fire at the attacker who just started to aim their weapon. Your Auto 9's burst fire strikes the heart causing their body to jolt in shock from the terminal damage, the attackers brain had already sent the single to pull the trigger.

RPG Attacker rolls 13 - 15 (mortal wounds) = -2

The rocket-propelled grenade ignites and flies into the middle of the roof detonating as it strikes. The debris crashes down with years of rust, dust, and insulation material creating a suffocating cloud that slowly rolls out of the building. While the assailants cough and spit as their lungs struggle to function, your systems detect the suffocating dust and close off the air intake vent switching to internal supply.

Activating your thermographic sensors you see that their bodies have doubled over as they struggle to breathe. "Drop your weapons and no further harm will come to you." The clattering sound of six handguns hitting the floor signals their compliance.

Lewis joins you, after equipping herself with an OCP respirator mask, in arresting the offenders who had been seated against the bulldozer. "Alright boys, you stay right here while we wait for the paddy wagon." She walks over to you as you continue to scan the area for any other potential hostiles.

"Hey Murphy, thanks for taking out that heavy weapon. We would've been screwed if they actually shot at us." She looks over to the wrecked warehouse. "Did you want to wait here with me for the van, take a look inside before CSI gets here, or see if we can interrogate something out of these assholes?"

You mull over your options as each has merits. While they are secured, criminals have been known to get creative when desperate, but Lewis is a seasoned veteran of Detroit, a rarity. Searching the warehouse may yield clues as to who supplied the RPG and handguns, that is if there is anything that can be identified. Then again questioning your assailants can yield just as much if not more that is if they talk at all, but if they do you would have to remain here to record the event for evidence as Lewis's body-mounted camera was damaged from the firefight.

[ ] Wait with Lewis

[ ] Investigate the warehouse for clues

[ ] Question the prisoners
