Riding Acromantulas and Understanding Magical Biology (harry potter/worm)

An idea had taken a hold of my mind. Assuming we were indeed in an illusion of some sort, controlled or designed by an intelligence of some sort… the headmaster's warning was a blatant red flag. An unusual event, some unscripted change to the world as it was presented? No, not unscripted. Before, I was thinking of the script, of the template that Hogwarts was built around, as based on a normal school. I assumed that our enemies would introduce or change elements to confuse and harm us. This event could just be the start of it.

But, what if it was part of the script all along? What if the underlying foundation of the illusion wasn't static, but flowing? Like a book, an adventure in a fantastic boarding school… or a game?

Powers were quirky, so there was no reason it couldn't be a possibility. It was Über and Leet's style… but with psychological twists right up Jack's alley. Just a glimmer of hope that we could free ourselves.

We just had to beat this 'game', first.

I wonder when the two of them will realize that it's not a game, illusion, or any other such deception?

Oh, another difficult one…. Mmmm….

Well, you sound rather sure, are you sure that's what you want? Perhaps another house would fit you better. In Hufflepuff, you could make life-long friends; in Slytherin, you could be....

I see, I see. Well, if you insist so much, then I suppose that the best house for you could just be-

Hmm. Was this because Taylor went to Gryffindor, and Amy was unwilling to lose the only contact she had to the "real world"?

Or has Amy at this point heard propaganda about slytherins=villains, gryffindor=heroes and that was the reason she felt that she had to go to gryffindor.

I'm surprised there's no speculation on who this could be. Amy was sorted halfway through the update, so it's probably not her...

It could well be Amy. It fits her personality. She could do with some Hufflepuff love and is capable of terrible things in Slytherin, but she desperately wants to be a hero and also stick close to the only other one from Bet so she'd be vehement in choosing Griffindor.

Oh Taylor when will you lose/realize that authority doesn't mean trustworthy.
It should tell you something that Taylor actually finds Dumbledore trustworthy. At a glance, at least. Because Taylor has learned that 'lesson' a long time ago.
Ah, thank you.

Both really. But mostly because Taylor was sorted there. Not that she doesn't find Gryffingor's traits admirable, not that she doesn't want to be a Gryffindor... she does, and it was her preferred house, but she would have followed Taylor into anything but Slytherin.

(Really, it's more like she doesn't believe she's Gryffindor material, but if Ta- Skitter's there, then she can be brave. She can learn how to be brave, and chivalrous and full of daring and nerve.)

It's Amy. It was just put in the end for stylistic purposes. Compare now Taylor's sorting with Amy's sorting.
Isn't Nearly Headless Nicks full name Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington?
Yeah. Taylor honestly doesn't care that much.

Indeed, for Amy right now it's not a choice between brave, loyal, intellectual, or ambitious. It's a choice between brave, might not even really exist, might not even really exist, and might not even really exist.

I prefer the non-fanon.

He's just being friendly. That really is what he's trying to be-no magic.

People are more complex then diamonds. We have many facets to our personalities and all of them are real. Dumbledore really is being grandfatherly.

Lockheart, on the other hand, certainly did use every trick in every book he could find in order to look better.

I'm not sure about Snape, though.

Ahh, so glad to see this updating! It's a shame, but I don't expect we'll see Amy and Taylor driven to comforting cuddles anytime soon. Perhaps when they finally realize that this isn't just an illusion and they're possibly stuck there.

I certainly don't believe Dumbledore was evil, but I don't think we can deny that he was manipulative.
