Dark days have descended upon all of Arda.
The final battle of the War of the Ring had come, and Aragorn II Ellesar, rightful King of Gondor and Eriador, has passed into the shadow of Mordor and all those that followed him to that battle now lay dead. Worst of all, the purpose of that last battle failed.
Sauron, heir of Morgoth, has arisen once more. His power waxes now, having reclaimed his greatest treasure, in these final days. Great legions of orcs, and worse, march from that fell land , and the Dark Lord slowly gathers all evil to his banner. Gondor, weak after the Battle of the Pelennor Fields and the Black Gate, though valiant, cannot contest with the might of Mordor alone. Rohan would be of little help, even should more men rally, as the greater body of its men had perished on the field at Pelennor.
All this, Alagostor knew. The man, tall, with the black hair and grey eyes typical of his people, glared out across the shadowy waters as he contemplated all of this. This man, a far distant cousin of Aragorn, was the chief of the Dunedain now that his liege was either dead or captured.
Rather than contest with the might of Sauron, Alagostor made a decision he knew had earned the scorn of many. He fled, with all his people, many gondorians and eridorians. Few of the small ones made the journey from the Shire. A fact that grieved Alagostor greatly. He fled from the shadow of evil, rather than stand with the Free People of Arda. Coward many whispered, in the shadows where they thought he could not hear. Many of the Dunedain abandoned him, choosing to remain and die.
'Fools.' Alagostor thinks scornfully, though sadness stains the thought, as he turns and glares at the sound of someone approaching him.
His glare eases little when he recognizes the man approaching him.
"What do you wish of me, Acharndir?" Alagostor barks, his voice cold.
Acharndir was tall, and much resembled Alagostor, save for his pale, blonde hair.
"Can I not visit with my cousin?" Acharndir asks, his voice far warmer and cheerful than the elder man.
Alagostor snorts, not deigning his younger cousin with an answer. While the man kept his complaints silent, Alagostor knew that his cousin held at least some scorn for him and his decision. The mask of warmth did little to hide the disdain hidden in his eyes.
"I have no interest in false companionship. Say your piece and be done with it, or leave me be." Alagostor says, bitterness tainting his thoughts and words. When they were younger, Acharndir had been his favorite cousin. Indeed, Alagostor had loved him greatly until very recently. Which only made Acharndir's disdain more hurtful.
Acharndir frowns at that, a strange light entering his eyes as he stares at his kinsman.
"Land has been spotted, Chieftain." He says, his voice as cold as his leader's, as he hands the Chieftain of the Dunedain a spyglass and walks away.
The cold metal brushes Alagostor's hands as he turns back towards the ocean. Through the bronze instrument he see's:
===
[] A frozen coast.
[] A great, dark forest.
[] The fertile coast of a river delta.

Alagostor, before he fled Arda, met with several realms and peoples as he led the Dunedain away. As such, he had the opportunity to ask for aid and boons, or claim treasures of past ages.
You have five points to spend on boons:
[] (1 point) Shards of the Black Sword: Gurthang, the Iron of Death, the weapon that claimed the life of Beleg Cuthalion, Glaurung, and Turin Turambar.
Originally named Anglachel, made by the dark elf Eol in the First Age, this sword was reforged by the smiths of Nargothrond for Turin.
Alagastor took the shards from Turins grave before he fled Eriador, thinking it would be a dark fate for a weapon of such note to fall into the enemies hands.
[] (2 points) Dwarven Craftsmen: Before his flight, Alagostor visited Ered Luin. While not prosperous, as most of Durin's folk returned to Erebor after it was reclaimed, there were still many smiths and craftsmen willing to join the migration from Arda.
[] (3 points) Palantir: The new steward, Faramir son of Denethor, gave the final seeing stones in their possession to Alagostor as a parting gift to the Dunedain, in the hopes that they would aid them when they settled in a new land.
[] (3 points) Horses of the Rohirrim: While they had few warriors to spare, Alagostor managed to negotiate with the Rohirrim for a breeding stock of their prized horses.
[] ( 3 points) Ships of the Elves: The elves make some of the finest ships in the world. As a final gift to the Dunedain, a people they have long had close ties with, they granted Alagostor ten of their finest ships.
