[X] "I would have to refuse. However, I would not be adverse to helping in Endbringer fights."
(Conjured Blade, I may have taken a look at your write in too many times to get an idea of how Alexandria talks.)
That was completely fine. If it's helpful, here's a version of my write in where I include Alexandria's thought process in parenthesized italics. Again, I'm not sure if her thinker augmented cold reading is that good, but here's her chains of logic.
To be a mage is to walk with death. Every day of your magical career, you have sought to internalize this truth.
But when you gaze into an abyss, the abyss also gazes into you.
Before Nanoha stopped you, you thought nothing of using 'enhanced interrogation techniques' on Fate Testarossa once you captured her. It made perfect sense! The Jewel Seeds were a textbook example of a ticking time bomb scenario! Take the magic out and the situation could have been on 24! Not that you've watched it. You've seen debates about it in magazines though.
You don't need her to take her helmet off to see her eyes. They're your own. She is one who walks with death, and has taken it as a far closer companion than you have managed in your short lifetime. If you have taken death's hand, this woman has gone rolling in leaves with the Grim Reaper for fun! You can't stop yourself from letting out a brief titter at the mental image.
"Is something amusing? If so, I would love to hear it. A lot of parahumans died here today. Humor is good for morale, isn't it?" Alexandria asks you.
(Laughing, sudden stop when I noticed, possible joke at my expense, I have her off balance)
You didn't think she heard you. How did she catch that? You attempt to put on your best, most serious poker face. It may have been a figment of your imagination, but for a fraction of a second, you think you surprised her. Then the tension melts out of her bearing. Given what you know of Baguazhang, it looks dangerously close to a combat stance.
(Where did someone her age get those eyes? Has seen combat before today, would not put killing past her, is not a recent trigger)
"If it was a joke at my expense, I'm not mad. If you hadn't assisted Lung, the death toll would have been even higher. Do you know who I am?" She asks, perfectly calm, albeit with a slight hint of condescension.
(Deescalate, she's earned some latitude today, relief may make her more suggestible.)
"The man said you're Alexandria, with the Protectorate in America. Are you here to recruit me?" You ask.
(She's not familiar with me? It could be chalked up to her being Japanese, but I'm not so sure. Let's see what I can learn from this.)
"It takes more than morale to defeat an Endbringer. Without parahumans, powerful parahumans, it would be like trying to fight a hurricane."
Superheroes are called parahumans then. Interesting.
(That look on her face, had she not heard the term parahuman before?)
"As bad as Leviathan was, there's an even worse Endbringer out there. Nobody knows where they came from, or why they're attacking us. We call him Behemoth. He's a dynakinetic."
Did this woman just say a creature with perfect control of energy exists?
(Surprise? Behemoth's first attack would have made news outlets all over the world. Possibly a research minded individual also given her reaction was most pronounced to the word dynakinetic. Still, she is definitely not from Earth Bet, and Cauldron didn't bring her here. So how did she get here?)
"The Protectorate is the largest, best equipped force of parahumans currently capable of standing against the Endbringers. We also have the best infrastructure for gathering data on them. If your papers were ruined in Leviathan's attack, I'm sure I can help you with that." The way Alexandria says it, you know she knows you aren't from this dimension. How she figured it out, you have no idea.
(Let's see how appealing to her interest in researching goes. If she thinks like me, she'll know the implications of me saying this. If she takes it as intimidation, she may be more inclined towards working with me.)
"I want to see it's arm. Whoever created these beings must be an absolute genius." You tell Alexandria enthusiastically.
(Definitely a research minded individual)
"Interesting conclusion. What makes you think that?" Alexandria asks you.
"Why else would they attack a city without eating anything? They're weapons. That doesn't change the fact that whoever, or whatever created the Endbringers, I want to talk to him." You say, the viciousness of a magus's curiosity coming to the forefront of your mind.
(Working with her will certainly be interesting. I'm going to keep an eye on her, see if she's worth introducing to the rest of Cauldron.)
There won't be any Nanoha to stop you when that happens. Alexandria may be using you, she may have figured you out in a single conversation, but you intend to take full advantage.
