Rebuild of Sword Art Online

The problem with suicide is that it doesn't actually end things in this Aincrad.

I don't get it. Wouldn't the fact that you don't actually die make it more likely? Sure we know that it would probably lead to insanity, and maybe Keita has thought about it, but with the mass of emotions he has to be feeling right now I highly doubt he's thinking clearly enough to think about the consequences.

I haven't actually read the novels, but if he is following anime canon...mind that Diavel lived then Keita could too.

God damnit Kirito, you shouldn't have thrown that sword away. He needs to man up.

If this wasn't following canon, I'd half expect him to call up Argo and ask to be her bodyguard. Everyone hates him, Asuna leads a guild of people who extra hate him, and he doesn't know where Klein is. There's no one else.

I don't think he even dares to face Argo in this state. Or trust her sufficiently, given how heavy the price on his head might soon be at this rate.

You know, if they're all being saved as data... Would the time limit on the resurrection item still be a practical necessity?

Maybe CARDINAL is not deliberately designed to facilitate Incarnation, but the notion of allowing strong player emotions to affect background processes semi-permanently (which is how "ghosts" end up appearing in Aincrad) is a really stupid idea...

I expected better boundary checking and no-executes (player emotions are data, not instructions) for a system that is supposed to run autonomously for a long time.

Well we do have cannon that states that wired things happen that should not be possible, ie "danger sense". I wouldnt be surprised is kirito decided to leeroy jenkins for at least a little while. Maybe solo a boss or something? What happens to caliburn will be important to this story. Or maybe the author is just taunting us, yessssss........ like he just did for the past arc.

There would be no reason to have a time limit yes, but Kayaba is very strong on the whole screw you players so it might still be there + the resurrected might have gone insane by the time you revive them

All that stuff adds mystique. Having clear, safe, understandable code is directly counterproductive to making a truly magical world.
