This isn't right screams a voice at the back of Janaka's mind. He ignores it, keeps fighting, ignoring barbs as he desperately tries to kill the hostile VARG. He can't hit it, can't pin it down as Ravana hammers away at him with fist and lance and barbed words. He tries to shut out the words, shut out arguments that ring true but-
"They're innocent." They will be reborn, compensated for their suffering with a life more splendid than you can imagine.
He can't stop himself listening.
"The helpless poor, civilians and children." Those who oppose the Gods may not be allowed to live, no matter the cost. Collateral damage, though tragic, cannot be avoided.
He can't stop himself understanding.
"And me, some Dalit, all that stands between you and them." To serve Ram, and through him the gods, all things are justified. To oppose Ram, and through him the gods, all things are vile.
He can't stop himself sympathizing.
"Do you wanna know why this burns so much?" shut up shut up shut up
He can't make Ravana shut up.
"Because we both know that I'm right. We both know that you're no-"
Rama's Kind
He cuts the comms, hands quivering. He keys Fatehpal's Sarath, opening a commline to his sergeant. "Sergeant Fateh, hold him off," he says, "We can't beat him. I need twelve seconds."
The other pilot stares at him, comprehension dawning. "Sir, are you sure?" he asks.
"Yes," says Janaka, and he closes the channel.
Rama's Just
He begins the startup sequence. Switches flip, cockpit lights turn an ominous red as he keys in authorization after authorization after authorization. Fateh charges in, is batted away, and charges in again, throwing himself at Ravana with wild abandon.
Loyal to the end.
Like he's meant to be.
Pumps and needles twist into place on his flight suit. Essence drains away from him as he thumbs through permissions, he feels his self, his atman drain away. The cockpit, the Arjun glow with holy might as the final key, a simple mala with five, jade, guru beads, rises from his command console.

"Om," he intones, "Namah Shivayah." He prays for one of Shiva's myriad blessings, rebirth closer to Ram.

The trigger rises, forms itself from thorns and essence, presents itself to him. The cockpit tells him of Brahmastra, projects the results of its firing. Janaka grips the trigger, hesitates, wavers, tears stream down his face as Fatehpal's Sarath is cast aside-

Brahmastra is the central gun of the ARJUN. Besides the vastly reduced range and limited collateral damage, it's statistically a warship cannon, or for those of us who've read the Aberrant 2.0 Rulebook, the Fireball of a Strategic Nuke.
That means 100A[100] base with more damage added on top before we get to size if it hits you. So if that thing hits you, properly? You're dead. And, of course, it's unparryable and you're massively penalized if you try to dodge.
If it fires on full force? Even if you PD, everyone in the AoE besides you is dead. That AoE is a cylinder about many miles long and incredibly wide. It will annihilate a significant portion of Mewat district, primarily slums and jungle-housing. Tens, if not hundreds, of thousands will die.
On the plus side, if you survive Janaka will be utterly spent as well as emotionally broken! Also this will look incredibly terrible for House Chola.

So, dodge is obviously the wrong answer. If we were going to dodge, we'd perfect instead. Given that we're goign to throw a perfect defense, the only real choice is whether we're willing to blow 15 motes, a willpower, and a channel in a desperate attempt to keep this oh-so-heroic *asshole* from slaughtering tens to hundreds of thousands of our people as collateral damage.

We have been talking the talk and now is the time to walk the walk. If we want to live up to our previous bombastic statements than allowing a major disaster to occur would be a major mistake. That is especially the case considering that in the aftermath of such a major disaster everything that led up to the firing of the Brahamastra will be closely scrutinized. I suspect that we could easily end up shouldering some of the blame for the disaster on the grounds that we used Celestial Exalted social manipulation skills to deliberately destabilize Janaka and caused him to fire the Brahamastra.

Unfortunately, even if the Malfeas Charm that lets you spend a Willpower to absorb purely energy attacks and regain motes from them is also available to Theion before he was fetich killed to become Malfeas, we don't have it, so, no, we can't.
