I can not agree. The armor steadily deforms. It will just take longer than an Assault* would need.

Assaults are super soldiers even heavier modified and enhanced than pilots. Yes they are still generally human sized (like J) but can use weapons to trash smaller mechs (or even bare handed). One appeared in the quest from wich the comic emerged. It took mech type weapons to the face with barely a scratch and one shooted the mech.

"Vaguely human-sized."

That Assault was to J what J is to normal people and regular pilots.
 
Man, there are just some days when it's really not worth it to even get out of bed.

Also, Jesus Christ on a bicycle no wonder there seem to be factions giving the UAN the middle finger left and right.
