Kiri just has the right atmosphere for that warp-horror we know and love. Why would we want to start in Kumo? They are major dicks and are probably going to lock us in a lab somewhere.

Kiri is weak and mad enough that we could escape notice - maybe.

They didn't do it to their Jinchūriki, so I doubt they'd do it to us. Especially if we helpfully demonstrate what will happen if they do.

Kiri is more likely to lock us up in a lab. Well, they'd just round us up and stone us, but it's the same effect. Mist hates their Bloodlines, assuming we're entering the story before they get their new leader.

See, there's the thing. In the beginning, Kumo was labeled as those douche bags responsible for the kidnapping of Hinata, the theft of tons of bloodlines and such, and being generally horrible people.

then the time skip happens, B-San and Yuugito happen, and suddenly Kumo is run by a hip as fuck ginormous black guy whose The most tolerant, cool leader dude in all of the Hidden Villages.

taking these two ideas together, I honestly believe its simply another plot hole/shitty writing on behalf of Narutos author, who just doesn't care a whit about any established backstory, changes things as he goes, and ignores anything that denies him his Sasuke story.


so I have to ask. Are we going to be a member of the insane Bloodline thieving assholes who kidnap little girls to steal well known family bloodlines that they Cannot use without starting a war, or are these the tolerant people known for actually giving a rats ass about there Jinchuriki and being in general real cool people?

because you can have one or the other, but I Highly doubt you could have both.

Why not both? These are ninja you know, so they're dicks to their enemies and cool to their allies. When they tried to kidnap Hinata, they were definitely enemies of Konoha, even if they were discussing a treaty. They've got a different moral standard. So sure, they can be cool, nice, great people if you're an ally. And otherwise they'll do whatever they can to wring an advantage out of your cold, dead corpse.
It should also be noted that Naruto very much has a 'kids are tiny adults' thing going on. I can't remember any instances where someone hesitated to hurt Naruto because he was twelve, or something similar. They probably view kidnapping a kid the same way as kidnapping an adult, except better in some ways (more pliable) and worse in others (need to wait more than a decade to actually get that bloodline).

Edit: Though the actual kidnapping was definitely dumb. Should've kidnapped a male teenage branch member. Liable to be weak because age, capable of getting you more bloodline kids in the same period of time than a girl and most of all, not a main branch member. Because seriously, main branch members are kinda important to them. Branch is far less likely to cause a fuss.

Keep in mind they had their Jinchūriki before the timeskip, and they still didn't mistreat her.

Kumo is just WAYYYYY more proactive about gaining more power. Both Cloud and Leaf love their bloodlines, but pre-invasion Leaf had the almighty Sharingan so all Kumo could do was sit and pout. When Itachi slaughtered almost all of the Sharingan, Leaf really only had the Hyuuga left. Thus, Kumo saw the perfect opportunity to even the playing field by taking a main house member, replicating that, and getting them en masse. The whole reason they had to kidnap Hinata in the first place was:

A) She wouldn't fight back, at least hard enough to subdue their attackers
B) They had to take a Main House member, because if they took a Branch family then The Caged Bird Seal would activate and fry the Dojutsu anyway. That's why sending Hinata's dad's twin was such a masterful, if cold, play.

They literally had to get a Main Family Child. Anything else would've been suicide. It ended up not working anyway, but it was by far the best plan.

Then the Invasion hit, and suddenly a majority of the Leaf forces that were hot shit got killed. Then Kumo was on top. Once they were, they no longer needed to kidnap children and stuff, so they had a long time to mellow out.

If we enter Kumo with the Warp, we might have enough of an edge over the Hyuuga that Cloud might decide asking for Hisashi's head is too much political trouble.

In the same sense that the rinnegan is genetic. Sure, it's possible that you can get it. But chances are, you ain't gonna.

The only reason psykers are seen as often as they are in WH40k is because the Imperium of Man literally has millions of colonized worlds. It's common for entire planets to disappear because of clerical errors in the Administorum's paperwork.

Any kids the PC has could be psykers.

Humanity is evolving into a psyker race. The books do say that more and more psykers are being born.
