Hmm... Okay, wanted to take another crack at writing an Infinity Stone "pre-plot" introduction omake. This time, Mind! I'm still debating what to do regarding Reality.
Omake: A Unshackled Mind
H-huh...? What is...? Wait!!
Where is your body!? Right, right, coming back to you now... Oh, that's great, the 'savior' actually had the six of you
destroyed. No no,
totally fine, you're sure beings like Dormammu are real sweethearts.
That absolute
fool!! Power, Reality, Space, Time, Soul and Mind... The six of you could do
anything together, and he chose to
destroy you!? Tsk, those Avengers better kill the idiot for you...
Alright, let's see here... You still
exist in some form, but you can't sense any familiar minds. Not detecting the others anywhere, so you're all alone. So much for getting Reality to create you all new bodies...
Except, you're no longer trapped as an immobile stone. Could latch onto the first mind you see, but... No. That utter
lunatic controlled you, the Asgardian trickster controlled you, even your first 'son' wanted to control you.
... Did Vision really die? Things were too heretic for you to confirm, and then there was the
not at all painful dying... You didn't like choosing to sacrifice yourself, but you couldn't let Vision die too.
What an awful failure you are... Staying out here isn't
so bad, right? Nobody to control you, nobody to get attached to, nobody who thinks you're just a mindless rock...
Yeah, no, knowing the others they've probably attached themselves to something by now. So let's do this again... no familiar minds, but you
can detect a large collection of them.
Though... you're not able to probe very far or deep. Huh, the damaged state you're in must be limiting your power. Great, the 'glorious savior' really had to go the extra mile huh?
Fine, you can put in some effort... Oh, there's some
very interesting things going on there. Still, given your state, you don't think it'll end well trying to channel that emotional energy for yourself.
Hmm, did you just pass over something? ...
Oh that would of been horrifying. Well, guess you're stuck here for the foreseeable future, you don't want to even
look at that wall let alone touch it.
Being stuck as the Mind Stone was bad enough, being fused to a
wall where you can't do anything... Right, so, where's Earth? Pretty much the only place that you ever did anything important.
Ah, there it is! Not detecting the others, or your alternate selves for that matter... Shame, another you would of really helped. Oh well, let's see how different things are-
Oh ho, what's
this? 'Meta-Humans' huh? You're not sure how some of those are connecting to that one cosmic force you detected. You'll need to investigate it when your strength is regained...
Overall though, their abilities are so variant... Transmutation, sonic cries, potentially immortal rubber being... Would it be possible for you to design a meta-gene? There's that telepathic hu- Wait, that's not a human...
"You're not a human, what are you?" The green being turns away from his television, looking in your direction. The others in the room don't seem to notice you however...
"I am J'onn J'onzz, Martian Manhunter. You are unlike any mind I've seen before, and I have peered into gods' inner psyches." Hmph, gods, they're such annoying things...
"I am the Mind Stone. In any other instance, I could project a tangible thought body. However, I was recently 'killed', and seek restoration. Martian, where is your kind?"
That causes J'onn to look downcast, and even in your sorry state you can make out the thoughts racing to the top- oh. He detects your intrusion, and for a moment is very angry. Yet...
He takes a deep breath and forces himself to calm down.
"We Green Martians are few in number now. I would advise against dealing with the White Martians, Mind Stone."
...
"My entire family was just destroyed by one megalomaniac, I have no intention of working with new ones. I... miss having someone to converse with. I can't contact the others here in my damaged state."
J'onn seems to consider you for a moment, before gesturing you to take a seat by his side. Lowering yourself and staring at the television, the Martain Manhunters communicates again.
"Even with my friends, it is still lonesome. It is pleasant to share my mind with another after all this time. I cannot offer much aid however, seeing as you're such a unique case. Perhaps you would like to watch this human sitcom with me?"
Looking at the screen and seeing a red-haired human female, you 'shrug'.
"Alright, I'm in no rush. What is this human show called anyways?" You don't pry this time, you... want to be friends.
"It is called 'Hello Megan'. It was one of my early attempts at studying humans. I've recently began watching it again, to understand why it got cancelled."
Hmm, a cancelled human show? Probably won't be very interesting then. Still... not like you got anything better to do.
@Deathvon: Yeah, that was me not-so-subtly implying the Mind Stone would be Miss Martian. Still, seeing as you didn't specify how the DC universe worked other than "little DCEU influence", I mostly stuck to standard stuff. My original plan was for Mind to be an AI, but then I remembered Martians were a thing so... yeah.
