Well, I have a couple Pokemon SIs on my ff.net alert list and some of them I might even call good ;-) But since I haven't found a lot of them myself, I'll just post them anyway. Maybe you like them

A Surprising Journey by Spidey 108 - A SI wakes up as Ash at the beginning of Kanto. It's been awhile since I read it, but I think it was alright / good.
Kalos: A Senseless Self Insert Story by longherin - A complete story that I followed three years ago and can remember nothing about, despite skimming over the first and last chapter. Probably not a good sign.
Dance, Dragon Dance! by Locksoli - A SI wants to become a Dragon Master and gets a Riolu as a starter. Has the annoying tendency to write "TIME SKIP" every time the scene changes. First two chapters are ok, don't like chapters 3 and 4 all that much with the focus on a haunted house with probably actually ghost and a murderous Darkrai, chapter 5 comes with a convenient backstory reveal.
Born of Caution by Fuggmann - A zookeeper dies in atomic fire and lands near Little Root Town with the Vulpix from his romhacked Chrystal game. It's a mix of games and anime canon, interesting but still rather early.
Pokemon: Storm by psychopath556 - SI wakes up in Oaks Laboratory at the start of Ash's journey. He aged up the canon characters a bit, and instantly starts flirting with Misty, but hasn't changed their characters. Personally a bit heavy on "Ash is a moron".
Y'know Nothing Jon Snow! by Umodin - Not a ASoIaF/GoT crossover. SI ends up on Shamouti Islands as a nine year old a couple of years before canon. Probably "the best" of the lot, since the quality is good and stands at 160k words so far. Though Umodin has the tendency to rewrite and overwrite/delete his old stories. This one is at version 2 and the only real change, aside from probably fixed writing mistakes, I've noticed, was that the SI was more of an ass in the beginning.

Its not an SI unfortunately but it is pretty realistic and is a good read. I have not read any Pokémon SI that were not just wish fulfillment

i have read most of them except a surprising journey so thx
a sensless journey is not a good fic its just a jumble of thoughts put together and pokemon storm has the potential to be a great fic but i think it has been abandoned and there were way to many inconsistencies
dance drgon dance is awesome same with borne of caution
i like YNJN but at the same time dont probably because i cant see myself making the same choices

Yeah, kind of expected that about Senseless Journey. I kept thinking "why on earth did I follow this" when I was skimming it. I guess I was desperate for Pokemon SI at that time. Speaking of, do you have some others?
I hope you like Surprising Journey, I think I liked it, but I followed it at the same time I did Senseless Journey, so who knows ;)
Eh, there are dead and then there are dead fanfics. It's only been a couple of months since the last update, so chances are that they'll come back to it. I mean, I know of one author that finished her story after a ten year hiatus :D
 
I've found another SI that's interesting, if rather different.
Also-Ran by KlonoaDreams - The SI wakes up as a very young child in Glimwood Tangle and is raised by the Pokemon there, before getting adopted by Opal. It's pre SwSh-canon with the main char being of the same age as Leon. Though be advised that it doesn't feature a male mc and to quote an AN from chapter 3:

By the by, I should mention that your fellow writer is nonbinary and a panromantic asexual. Just what exactly does that mean? It means you shouldn't be surprised if you [see?] characters who walk similar paths of life as Annette (this is me confirming that yes, she's trans and is married to Theodora). ... If you're uncomfortable with that, then feel free to drop this fic, because I write what I want to write.

Avidity on ff.net is the most recent SI I've found. It's pretty heavy handed on the wish fulfillment part, but I could make a case that every single fanfiction ever written is basically wish fulfillment
 
Just remembered Gaming Guardian, also on ffnet. Having asked the author some time ago, I can affirm it is officially discontinued because of a mishap with the doc files, from what I understand. It's still so good I would read it again, even knowing it probably won't even be updated again.

The first one was last updated earlier this month, and even though the beginning is a tad slow, and the story doesn't really get into Pokemon stuff until the fifth chapter, it's still a good read.
 
I would think inserting a Pokemon into yourself would REALLY hurt.

Oh well, have fun & wash up afterwards. ;)
 
Instead of posting 11 posts in a row, none of which actually link the stories in question, could you perhaps make a single post, that has actual links in it?
