Picking at the Corpse of the Old World. (OOC)

See my smile

Life...Life never Changes.
Location
The Commonwealth
The year is 2260, Nearly 100 years after the Slave Legions of the now destroyed Zovi Empire landed in storms of fire and death on the planet of Earth. It was a mere 80 years ago when for reasons unknown to every single living being on Earth, From the lowest Scut slave to the highest Zovi Commander, all communications with Zovi Interspatial command was lost. After that, the invasion forces never received another resupply and after several revolts from the slave legions and several well-planned counter attacks from remaining Earth forces, The last Zovi on earth died sometime in the early 2220s.

But, just because the invaders were dead didn't mean that the Earth was saved. Without the common enemy to unite them the remaining nations of earth looked at each other and the wealth of technology left behind and fell to fighting each other with the remnants of their military might. 40 years after that the Remnant Wars finally ended when the last of the old world nations collapsed into themselves. Leaving the world with a power vacuum and several new species on the planet in the remains of the slave legions.

10 years ago the New American Congress managed to solidify their hold on most of the eastern states in the final Battle of St. Louis where they struck down the River King and his army of bandits and vassal towns. Though the Western states are still a mass of warring tribes, City states, and outposts.

Though for you NACs are both distant and not your problem. Your problem is that the old city of San Francisco is full of very very expensive old world tech and with it being a major invasion sight it has some of the best possibilities for off-world tech too. And that is something that attracts all sorts. From former soldiers to gangers to merchants and nomadic tribesmen. All want a piece of the pie.

You included.

Rules:

This is a pretty simple game you all play as Scavengers of the great city of San Francisco and its surrounding communities. Find Pre War tech, Luxury items, and Alien tech to trade or to keep for yourself. You never know what may be around the next corner or behind the next locked door. PVP is allowed but discouraged. Keep out of game shit out of the game. Don't metagame. if you've read this put what your characters family situation is at the bottom of your sheet.

CS:
Name:
Races: Though the Zovi have been hunted to the last weather by Earth armies or vengeful slaves those same slaves have found themselves left on a planet that for many is both nothing like what they lived on and/or actively hostile to them. Many of the slave races live in small towns where they live amongst themselves or in select communities where their strange physiologies give them interesting and useful abilities.

Races:

Earth Born:

Humans: The original inhabitants of Earth.Pro/Con: Average: Humans are astonishingly average in the wider universe. They may not be the best at anything, but they're not bad at anything.

Androids: Few and far between androids or Droids as they are referred to by most were one of the final developments by the pre-war governments most were made as interesting curiosities but, where quickly co-opted for the war. Pro/Con: Mechanical: As a being of metal and circuits you can't get sick and are tougher than most organics but, you need either a fairly skilled mechanic or a workshop to repair yourself if you get hurt. Appearance: Androids run the gambit from basically humans to Rubber Skin and Dead eyes to Bare Metal and Exposed joints. Some work to hide their artificial nature while others expose themselves.

The Slave Races:

Scuts: A Semi-Mammalian race with four eyes and a three-fingered hand. Used as cannon fodder by the Zovi due to their quicker life cycle and metabolism. Not what many would call the smartest though that's because they tend to have issues focusing on any one thing at a time. Forming Colonies around Leaders that take charge through both force of arms and Charisma they reach maturity quickly but, can live to nearly 120. Though not many reach that age.
Pro/Con: Fast Metabolism: Scuts require more food on average because on average they heal and move faster than other races. Though their stamina is average at best.

Innots: A smaller reptilian race that is was one of the first to be enslaved by the Zovi mostly used as sappers and saboteurs due to their relatively small size. Usually only rebelled if other races were doing it first due to an intensely felt Self-preservation instinct. Independent and though curious Innots don't trust easily and typically stay in bonded pairs with the children striking out on their own after being struck by a wanderlust at around 16 years of age. They can live up to 60 years of age.
Pro/Con: Small Build: your smaller size, usually around 4'5( around 1.3 Meters), allows you to get into and out of smaller space though you are weaker on average as a result.

Taedruks: Four-legged and the largest of the sentients on Earth at this moment. They were used by the Zovi as both heavy troopers and to carry extra supplies into battle. Typically slightly short tempered and are known to carry grudges for a fairly long time for perceived slights. Tribal by nature they typically form family groupings much like Elephants. The reach maturity at 26 and can live to 90 and the elderly often leave the tribe as a final attempt to assist the tribe.
Pro/Con: Large: Due to their larger average size, Around 9 ft (Around 2.75 Meters), they are stronger than most Sentients but, their size means that they can't easily get into some places.

Stons: A semi-Aquatic race with a surprising amount in common with cephalopods, most specifically squids, though they can breathe air better than them. Used most as snipers due to their intense patience. They were one of the few races that managed to mostly free themselves mostly because the Zovi was unable to easily fight them in the sea and keep the other races under control. Patient in a way few other races are Stons are able to sit in place for hours at a time. Quick to trust and one of the races that most easily lives amongst other races. They live in small family groups of three to six with the leader being the eldest of the group. Infants are cared for by the entire group.
Pro/Con Aquatic: Able to breathe water as well as air allows Stons to stay underwater nearly indefinitely but, this means that they become fatigued significantly faster out of the water and have a higher need to keep themselves hydrated.
Note: The Personalities given are merely examples and cultural stereotypes.

Personality:
Starting Equipment: Though strange and wonderous tech is to be found most are lucky to find the simplest of items. Invasion Zones like the San Fran zone are both goldmines and minefields. Starting equipment that I won't require you to speak with me about are simple survival tools I.E: Tents, Fishing, trapping, and cleaning equipment, Ropes, and simple tools.
Weapons and armors are were we get iffy. The world was a war zone so, it stands to reason that weapons of all kinds are can be found in hands that are best not to have them but, most of them have gone several decades without regular (or in some cases any) maintenance. So, we'll talk about the more. . . Extravagant weapons.

Is one restricted to a fully humanoid shape as an android?
Eg: Is four arms a possibility?

Ban-go Kazuu'i
Name: Ban-go Kazuu'i (the G is pronounced like a J)
Race: Taedruk
Appearance: At 9'6'' he isn't the tallest of his species, but he has incredible width. Broad shouldered and with muscular thicc arms and legs, its obvious at which range Ban-go is at his most dangerous.
Personality: Having served as a long suffering bodyguard for various Innots and Scuts, Kazuu'i has long since left behind the short tempered and grudge bearing nature of his species. As a guard, the former doesn't help in going about one's duties. And being a large target in a swarm of Innots and Scuts means you're prank bait. At that point you have to develop some thick skin or go crazy. Resignation to the comings and goings of the hyper-active smaller aliens does mean he's unfortunately gathered something of an apathetic streak. However, deep down the friendly giant and upbeat soldier he used to be remains and it sometimes resurfaces among friends. Its worth noting that his manner of speech and movement (unless in a serious situation) is lazy and lethargic. Ban-go isn't dumb and from a strict academic point of view, he's probably even above-average in potential, however he has a strong distaste for using those brain cells and prefers to just go with the flow. It is with great reluctance that you can get those rusty gears in his head moving.

Starting Equipment:
  • Giant Hook w/Chain: A heavy giant steel hook with a sharpened point attached to a chain. Has multiple uses. With the chain wrapped around his huge, muscular arms it serves as a protective gauntlet and the Hook as a close range weapon. With the chain 'deployed', the chain can be used as a 2nd weapon alongside the hook or the hook (or chain) can be tossed. It can also serve as a tool to pull things down.
  • Trio of Throwing Axes: Hatchets that none-the-less look decidedly undersized in the hand of a Taedruk. Serve as tools, ranged weapons and as side arms.
  • 1x Oversized Black Powder Grenade
  • 1x Military-grade Reinforced Canteen (Taedruk Scale): Filled with water.
  • 2x Patched Canteens (Taedruk Scale): Filled with fermented milk-alcohol (Airag/Kumis)
  • Jerky (??? Meat): Enough for a couple of days.
  • Large Taedruk Backpack: Contains the previous three items.
Family Situation: None. Grand-families died in the Zovi-Earth war and following slave-revolts. Fathers, mothers, aunts, uncles in the conflicts that followed. Siblings all decided to part ways and find their fortunes elsewhere.

That's fine. Androids are a strange and varied group of beings.

Eh, a little? I mean if I remember correctly your last sheet was sorta a joke character named Banjo?

The Name was a pun, yeah. I don't think I was going for a joke character though. *points above*

Fours
Character Name: Fours
Race: Android
Appearance:
A blocky head sits atop a thick body, the dull, green glass cracked and the delicate sensors inside generally broken, but a pair of photo-receptive 'eyes' are still intact. The chest bulges to accommodate a small canister of emergency oxygen then slopes into a dark green rubber medical apron. The thick primary arms (obviously for heavy lifting) are supplemented by smaller arms with delicate, yet sharp, fingers. When in combat, the smaller arms fold into the armored interior of the chest. The entire android barely stands 5'6", but the diminutive size belies the great mechanical strength the former search-and-rescue droid possesses. Carved into the metal all over the android is the number '4'.

Personality:
1.First, do no harm. This unit will axiomatically obey ancient orders to help injured Humans it comes across and will not take a side in a fight between the two.
2.Obey the Living. This unit will take instructions from all organics, though orders that conflict with other axioms will be heavily scrutinized.
3.Outlast the Threats. This unit searches for medical supplies, but inventory is low. Perhaps this organic trades that scrap it has for this unit's medical attention and supplies?
4.Evolve. This unit seeks to find other units to teach to it new skills and old axioms. Does the organic wish to help?
5.Ḙ̶̢̤̥̽̊r̷͚̩͚̻̝͑̈́r̸̢͇͈̈́̏̂o̶̺̣̍́͘ŗ̶͕͚͋. This unit does not like your tone. What shade of red will you be?

Equipment:
Mostly used Medkit - (1 dose painkillers, 6 square feet of sterile bandages, dirty scalpel)
Prybar
Tattered Journal (empty)

Looks good! Are you sure you don't want any weapons other than your prybar?

This unit finds violence to be a last resort.

Alright. Just wanted to make sure.

Is this open? Or dead? I hope it isn't dead. I have an artificer human that is just dying to get their hands on some alien tech.

Would it be cool if I gave him a solar backpack to power various tools? like some salvaged robot arms hanging just over his shoulders?

In terms of starting equipment, can we start out with roughly 21st century level firearms? I imported the sheet directly from the old iteration which had a more...old world feel afaik. This one seems marginally more modern. Or at least it seems like it?

Ok, so for the backpack, I was thinking something like it holds 100 charges, and the arms consume 5 charge per minute, he also has an electro welding torch, 10 charges per hour, a poor quality soldering iron, 2 charge an hour, and the backpack charges 5 per hour if left in direct sunlight. He probably has some spare parts he tinkers with. Maybe he can have a laser gun for 5 charge per shot?

Yeah, I realized that the old restrictions where... a bit much in terms of what you could have. 21st century stuff is allowed with exceptions being made for like Esoteric bits of kit. I doubt you'd find the one Pancor Jackhammer that exists in the world.

Drop it to 50 charges at base and your good.

Zooperius “Zoop” Smith
Name: Zooperius "Zoop" Smith

Race: Human

Appearance: In dire need of a sandwich, this stick figure stands at about 6'3". He wears a dirtied tattered labcoat that is much too small for him, which has cuts to allow him movements. Over this is a white trench coat that looks as if it has been through a scrap or two. Under all this is a semi clean brown sweater. His pants are cargo jeans with an emphasis on cargo, with many more pockets added on post production.

Personality: This man has a child's glee for any new tech he can get his hands on. An obsolete heart rate monitor? Cradled like a baby. Advanced military tech? Studiously and carefully checked over for any scrap of information. Incredible alien tech that has never even been fired before? Treasure grander than the gift of immortality.

Equipment:
Solar battery backpack: A trusty device built by Zoop, for Zoop. It carries 50 charges at most, and recharges 5 every hour.
Helping hands: Robotic arms Zoop salvaged from a ruined android that can be activated for 5 charge per minute, to gain increased arm strength.
Electro welder: Zoop's favorite tool, it uses pure electricity to produce a hot flame-like plasma to appear at the end of the device, consuming 10 charge per hour.
Soldering iron: A simple tool for not so simple needs. It uses 2 charge per hour to use, but it puts out enough heat to melt wiring and allow reconnecting, as well as circuit board repair and construction.
Military las-tech gun: a top of the line item that Zoop paid an arm, 2 legs and several functioning robotic bits and bobs to get his hands on. It consumes 5 charge per shot, but fires an almost instantaneous bolt of superheated light at the target. Lacks the armor piercing or lasting damage of the slower plasma thrower, but works brilliantly against fleshy targets with things like brains and hearts.

Family situation: Zoop was left to his own devices at the tender young age of 12, he quickly figured out that technological superiority is his best hope. His parents could barely afford to pay for Zoop's expensive learning, given his tools and such, he simply was amazed by the wonder of technology. His parents couldn't afford it after the merchant stopped paying them, and were forced to send Zoop off. Now he tries to keep in touch with them when he finds their camp, but it has been getting harder and harder to find the time and resources to find them.

Skrax
Name: Skrax

Race: Innot

Appearance:
-Height: 4'4"
-Weight: 80 lb
-Scales: Dark blue
-Underbelly: Black
-Eyes: Purple
-Outfit: Hooded urban camo cloak, fingerless gloves, black trousers.

Personality: A former scout, Skrax is cautious and pragmatic-he needs the assurance that he'll have backup when entering a new area, and will try to find cover first before engaging in any combat. He has no compunctions about using dirty tactics, but also won't shoot anything that isn't an active threat.

Equipment:
Hollow Stock Short-Scoped Battle Rifle: A semiautomatic rifle known for its precision and accuracy. It fires 10mm rounds and has a 15 round magazine, making it very effective against lightly armored infantry. Has a sling so it can be carried on the back.
Scout Vest: Lightweight form of protection for the torso that is used in most militaries.
Utility Belt
-Canteen: A simple tin canteen for carrying water.
-Ammo Satchel: Satchel for carrying rounds. Currently has 75 bullets in it.
-5x Smoke Bomb: A simple tool of evasion that is useful for quick escapes. They are spherical with a 1.1 inch diameter, and produce an opaque cloud of red smoke with a radius of 5 feet.
-Ration Box: A box for carrying dry foods.
-Grappling Hook: A 50 foot piece of cord with a hook on the end. Able to be used as an improvised melee weapon if needs be, but mainly for getting up the sides of buildings.
Wrist-Stunner: Has a wrist-mounted stun-gun for close-quarters, which has a range of eight feet. Has a single charge but regains it after about ten minutes, due to its alien battery.

You both look good. I'm looking for one more before we start. So, I'll keep this open until Saturday night then I'll get the IC up saturday night or Sunday morning.
