    Okay. Okay. It's cool. You can do this. You're thirteen now, not some kid!

    Steeling your nerves, you shove yourself out of that nice, warm, non-tapping bed, grit your teeth and stride (okay, sneak really quietly) over to the bookcase.

    The box continues to merrily wriggle-tap.

    You reach out... and poke it.

    ... tap?

    You stare at it.

    ...... taptap?

    ... Screw it, you're opening it.

    Narrowing your eyes, you remind yourself; you're Tominaga Hideyoshi, and no crappy box is a match for you! Taking the plunge, you use both hands to grip the box, gaze fixated on it, and snap the lid open - drawing your hand back as quickly as you can.

    The sumi-e brush sits there, perfectly still.

    Huh. You stare at that too, because why not?

    Then - it shudders slightly, whatthehell, and as you flail and stumble away from the shelf, trying to keep yourself from shrieking in sheer terror, the brush wobbles onto the tip of its handle, poking up out of the box and in your direction.

    "'Ey there, kid," it grunts, the lack of mouth apparently not a concern as it bobs slightly in tune with its words. "You the newbie? I'm a busy guy, y'see, I ain't gonna train nobody I don't have'ta."

    [ ] What the fuck?!
    [ ] And this is the second-weirdest dream I've ever had. Good night.

    [ ] Oh, thank god! I thought you were a ghost, not just a talking brush. Phew!
