north North NORTHMendez had had her doubts about the young officer, at first — it's hard not to, when you combine the woman's rumoured connections with rapid promotions — but nepotism isn't quite so unstoppable a beast in the SRI compared to the Navy. And already, the lieutenant has proven herself to be a calmly competent presence, as well as a reliable officer. That's one thing Milo Owusu's ever done for Mendez — not saddling her with a pampered idiot just pulled off a desk job.
So, this is the bit where we kill of the old main character?
Oh, don't worry. The unnamed lieutenant on the other end of that call was, if you'll remember, leading the boarding party who were checking the space station out.Because if that is North, then she's going to be inside a battle in a barely armed tin can.
Killing Amani is just as unforgivable as killing Azara would be!Oh, don't worry. The unnamed lieutenant on the other end of that call was, if you'll remember, leading the boarding party who were checking the space station out.
So, inside a space station with a bunch of SRI technicians, fending off pirates in a firefight. While a battle goes on around it.
Unlike a Night Lily class, however, a Bulb is barely-armed by military standards, lightly armoured, and has little in the way of carrying capacity.
Will this character ever be named?? Guess you'll need to check back next time!Lol, you might as well had her say who the Lieutenant is, it's quite obvious from the previous description.
Maybe just some anti-mecha guns and/or PD to give it a bit more wiggle room for what it can escape from. What are the guns for then, morale? No, seriously, if it's a stealth ship that is only designed to creep in the enemy territory and nothing else, why guns at all? It's not like it can target enemy commerce shipping, by the sound of it.
*coughs*
And because that would be wrong.
I actually wonder if it might be Amani's sister. She got some sort of offer at the end, although I admit it would be a stretch for her to be given responsibility like this.
If Mosi gets anything less than a highly advanced elite mecha I'd be surprised.I actually wonder if it might be Amani's sister. She got some sort of offer at the end, although I admit it would be a stretch for her to be given responsibility like this.

Given that this mysterious woman is described as "a calmly competent presence, as well as a reliable officer." Even if it isn't Amani it definitely doesn't describe Mosi.
