Persona: A Less-Than Cinematic Tale (Starring Hikari of PQ2)

Rise of the Shadow Troupe
FilmSunlight: I'm calling it the Shadow Troupe.

Starshock: That's not something I expected to see. Why that?

FilmSunlight: It just... reminds me of something I've been thinking of, recently.

She couldn't explain why beyond that, because that would mean explaining Shadows, and Personas, and other worlds, and it wasn't like anyone would believe her, if they hadn't already experienced it for themselves.

If anyone asked her again, she was going to claim it was a holdover from occasionally helping her high school's Drama Club.

LupinIV: I think it's a good name. Better than anything my friends and I could come up with.

Alibaba: What does
that mean?

LupinIV: You've met our friends. ...Also, is the chat supposed to be able to render that?

FilmSunlight: No. No it's not. I've tried.

Alibaba: Maybe you just weren't
trying hard enough.

LupinIV: Maybe you need some time without an internet connection.

They played for a little while longer after that, until well after Mugwort left, up until Lupin also decided to leave, because they had school in the morning, and that reminded Hikari of her own classes that she had to pay attention in, and that she couldn't really do that when she was half-asleep.

She was still sort of half-asleep the next morning, but she'd also woken up several minutes before she normally did. There was a strange feeling in the air- the feeling that, had she done things differently, today would have been an important day. But she'd done things the way she had, and so today was meant to be normal.

Whatever normal was.

She got the feeling that she was going to lose track of that very quickly.

Today, she decided, she would make as normal of a day as possible. Just so she didn't forget more quickly than she had to.

[ ] And what could be a more normal start of a day than dropping by a cafe?
-[ ] With Shiyuri Kosono
-[ ] With Tsukane Akabori
-[ ] With Hanaya Chatani

[ ] Before leaving for the day, she'd start working on the Clockwork Spear. (Crafting sessions remaining: 7)

[ ] She'd visit the garden and hope for some peace and quiet.

[ ] This was as good a time to visit the library as any.
-[ ] With Shiyuri Kosono
-[ ] With Tsukane Akabori
-[ ] With Hanaya Chatani
-[ ] By herself

[ ] She'd see if anything interesting was going on in the dorm, before she left.

I would say this is a judicious use of our time.

That said, the fact that I should never be trusted with making a vote when I am the first one on an option is still 100% in effect and that somehow, someway this is the wrong vote. :V

To be fair, you might be the first vote on that option, but you're the second vote on the overall chapter! :p

I could consider getting more involved with our dorm, but that might be spreading our actions even thinner than we already do.

Honestly, I've lost track of our current social situation, so I'm just going to vote for

Friday, April 21- Before Classes
The Clockwork Spear... in hindsight, maybe Hikari should have chosen something simpler for her first project.

It wasn't that she didn't think she could do it. She had the instruction manual- given enough time, she could use it to piece something together.

It was that there were so many small parts, and she just kept dropping them. And then she'd have to drop down and pick them up, and probably end up fumbling with them again, and before she knew it, she'd run out of time to work before she had to put everything back in the box and shove it under her bed.

"Next time," She told herself, knowing that there was absolutely no way that she was going to finish it anytime soon unless it became the only thing she did. And she... really didn't think that she wanted that.

But she was going to complete it. Out of spite, if nothing else. She knew more than a few people who would tell her just to give up on the project, and this was her chance to prove them wrong.

Just... later. When proving them wrong didn't mean skipping class.

By the time classes ended that day, Hikari's failure no longer weighed on her quite so heavily.

This was at least partially because of all the other work she had to worry about, but she could complete that on her own time. Right then... she was feeling a lot better. And she wanted to enjoy that, somehow.

[ ] A nice, warm drink with friends, maybe, would take away that last edge of bitterness.
-[ ] With Shiyuri Kosono.
-[ ] With Hanaya Chatani.

[ ] She'd visit the pharmacy, because it was always best to be prepared. Besides, she could always hope that nobody would notice her less approved purchases if she put a first aid kit on top of it.

[ ] Seeing a movie at the Blooper Reel would be a good way to enjoy any day, really...
-[ ] With Shiyuri Kosono.
-[ ] With Hanaya Chatani.

[ ] A visit to the gardens was never a bad idea.

[ ] ...Or, with all the work she had to do, she could be a bit more focused about it and go to the library.
-[ ] By herself.
-[ ] With Shiyuri Kosono.
-[ ] With Hanaya Chatani.

[ ] She could always just wander the town, and see if anything was happening...

[ ] She could always just wander the campus, and see if anything was happening...

The pharmacy option sound sus, but I kind of want to take it. Tomorrow we meet with Tsukane so we can't go shopping and getting resources will be useful.

I need more time to think about it and actually to remember to vote this time
EDIT: Vote

Tempted to go with one of the random options. That or hanging out with a friend.

I'll try voting when I'm not feeling like crap.

Edit: Okay, feeling moderately human again.

-[x] By herself.

Always good to get our work done so it's out of the way.

Friday, April 21- After Classes
Hikari went to the library.

She needed time to study. To focus on her schoolwork, because there just wasn't enough time otherwise, with everything that was going on in her life. When she'd said she was sure she could handle what this school had to offer, that was before she knew what she would be getting pulled into. So she'd have to study whenever she found the time, it felt like, even when it cut into her spending time with friends.

Today, for studying purposes, Hikari decided to claim a computer. She was aware that this probably wouldn't help stop her from getting distracted, but it was easier than working her way through the sorting system in search of something relevant to herself, and it ran a lot faster than her own computer did.

Besides... there were a few other things that she wanted to look up.

Hikari opened one tab for actual studying purposes, and another for things she was simply curious about. She was fully prepared to make notes about both sorts of things.

The first thing she looked up that wasn't actually relevant to schoolwork was the word Phantasmagoria. She knew people probably hadn't stumbled into the world under the school before her and come out safe, but... At the very least, it could probably give her as much information as Ribbon could.

Phantasmagoria
n.
1. An exhibition of optical effects and illusions
2a. A constantly shifting complex succession of things seen or imagined
2b. A scene that constantly changes
3. A bizarre or fantastic combination, collection, or assemblage

Hikari had no idea which of these definitions best fit the world beneath the school, but something told her that, if she kept going, she was eventually going to find out.

Eventually, Hikari ended up leaving the library after running out of things that she wanted to look up, both for school and otherwise. The sun was setting, now, bathing the campus in bright pink and orange that made everything seem to almost glow.

It was a nice evening. She needed to find something just as nice to do with it.

[ ] She'd get a drink at the cafe, and enjoy her evening.
-[ ] With Shiyuri Kosono.
-[ ] With Hanaya Chatani.

[ ] She'd visit the garden, and enjoy the beautiful night.

[ ] She'd relax after studying by playing games.

[ ] She'd continue the work on the Clockwork Spear that she started that morning. (Crafting sessions left: 6)

I'm thinking:

[x] She'd get a drink at the cafe, and enjoy her evening.
-[x] With Hanaya Chatani.

But I'm open to suggestions.

Edit: Just gonna go with it.
