Out of Control (Guyver/Warhammer)

If we want the ingredient kill it. Trying to fart around could very easily get us killed but if we spells free this creature is toast.

Do we count as journey man in those lores? +2 to CN?

This is indeed the case. I'll add the spell stuff to Leigo's character page when I wake up.

Also for the people voting to run if we kill it we can get one of our ingredients also the movement system doesnt work the way you think it does.

Its 2d6 + movement. We are one point faster, so it could still conceivably charge us down.

Nah, the run away option will get you out of combat.

No promises if what you run into afterwards is going to be any better, however.

The way I think the movement system works is; it's huge and we're in a thick jungle, we're small and fast. No way it's keeping up with us if it has to bulldoze through all the trees.

The main reason I don't want to start throwing magic around is because think about what ELSE we'll attract if we do that. A few flashing lights from detection runes brought this thing down on us. What will we get next?

Honestly I had forgotten legio was a wizard lord fire mage and journey man in the other disciplines , im really not worried not when we can do shit like buffing us to have +3 toughness.

Also I was being super dumb, Legio should just cast spiritleech. D6 +unmodified leadership for each point Legio wins the check by she gains a temporary wound and deals a wound to the enemy its also avery low Cn at 7.. Its direct damage not missile based so shouldn't make a light show and bypasses armour. Basically an instant kill spell for this situation and will give legio a nice buffer of temporary wounds.

[x] Wait, I need it for my list! (Eager): … You need a vial of Bastiladon dung. This could be an opportunity? Err, how do I get it to defecate in the middle of a fight? (Enter combat normally, the Bastiladon will charge/attack the tree first. Will try all sorts of magic to get it to poop)

We have good magic and a pooping dinosaur would find it hard to concentrate on attacking.

Maybe it's constipated and angry.

Heres the thing there are a lot of ways we can magically make this fight trivial. Melt into slag with fire magic, curse it into the ground with the three debuffing shadow hexs (I kind of favour this as it makes the creature weak as a kitten) consume it with death magic giving legio a nice health buffer. Shoot a giant hole through it with beast lore magic etc etc.

If you are worried about noise the shadow lore is the best option.

Honestly, it's probably easier to just kill it and then cut it open after it's dead for the poop then it is to try and make it poop.

You know we're in a jungle FULL of monsters, right? All that stuff she can do.... will be if surprisingly little help in a situation like this. There is no way she has the stamina to throw around powerful attack magic all night.

Yeah, we could wreck this thing, and make a lot of noise and bright lights doing it, but then we'd need to deal with the five things attracted by the noise, light and smell of cooking dinosaur. Then deal with everything else following them.

We can defend ourself when we need to, but we can't fight all night against everything that might come along.

We don't need to make it poop. I'm sure it'll have already done that on its own. This thing left a trail that will be easy to find later. Wouldn't take five minutes to follow its tracks to a giant pile of crap.

Well for a start magic doesnt fatigue you in that way, warhammer magic is like HP magic in that personal mana tanks arent a thing. Also I already mentioned we can use the shadow lore spells which are silent and stealthy and will cripple the beast very easily.

Well, to be fair, I have been advocating just running away. I was saying that to the people who are voting to stick, but instead of attacking them use magic spells to try and make it go to the bathroom.

It's my opinion that we should leave, but if we aren't going to leave we should at least fight. It's better then Eager.

[X] Blast it with Magic! (Agressive): Oh, no, this thing is going to FRY! Pelt it with magic before it charges, then keep firing until it's dead! (Gains 2 magic phases, before and after movement, but your movement is reduced to 1 for the turn)

Somebody go through the possible spells that can make it poop? High magic aside, which Lores can handle it? Beasts? Shadow? Life?

Almost every lore can manage it some can do it easier and with less risk though. Casting spells isn't more risky then fighting this dino in close combat from what I can see.

So depending on the number of power dice available here is my proposed first phase of magic needs 6+

CN 10 Melkoths miasma -1d3 for each of the following stats for the enemy weapon skill, movement and intiative. That would need 3 power dice. Then cast curse of the midnight wind enemy target must reroll any sixs on weaponskill toughness or armour saves. Which makes it certain to miss every attack as it will only manage to make any hits on a 6 with WS 2 or 1. Again three dice for that. Then spirit leech 2 dice and lastly Caress of laniph also 2 dice.

its quite likely we wont have enough power dice to sustain this in the first phase so the damage dealing spells might need to be moved to the second phase.

This plan should ensure that the creature cant hurt us at all and that it drops dead almost straight away. Its also a very quiet release of magic where as raining fire would attract attention.

Assuming we do vote to stay and fight, I support the stealthy kill with shadow magic. I don't want to kill this thing, only to bring down half the jungle on our heads.

[] Run! (Hesitant): Oh fuck this noise, the thing's far enough away, and the two of you fast enough to grab your packs and make a run for it! Slow as it is, there's no way it'll be able to catch up to you before you manage to outrun the monster! (Run from Combat)

Major problem with any sort of fighting guys. It'll attract other monsters that will likely want to munch on us.

As an aside konamikode, is there a particular reason why despite all her shouting, mental and otherwise we didn't wake up?

@jwolfe_beta

That isnt actually true we have a number of options which allow us to take down the monster silently and extremely rapidly. Options which leave legio with up to 4 temporary wounds/health points extra on top of her base number.

Considering all the racket this critter has already made, I think everything in the general vicinity knows something is going on. Can we kill a monstrous creature like that (assuming the magic dice rolls are kind) and beat feet to another safe place before multiple somethings come to chow down on the carcass?

Yes easily, one of our magic spells allows us to make an additional movement action and fly away. We are fully capable of killing this creature in the first magic phase if we go with aggressive it just means we have no chance to fail. We need four power dice to have a good chance of killing it. My original magic plan is built around ultra pessimism on our offensive spells not quite managing the task and ensuring our safety regardless.

I can make a optimised silent kill plan if people want that should be impossible to fail unless we get shit like 1s on every dice.

The most important part about attacking it with magic is we can quadruple our health if we do so.
