Our Ruin, Our Truth - Prototype Human Weapon Quest

Where -- and more importantly, how -- does she get those dates?
I asked that very same question too. Apparently through space tinder like @Gazetteer said, as shown in this text
The next time, she just gets stood up. In a way, the experience is novel and brings out a fresh set of disappointments out of her. She sits on a bench under the steel Karvassa, idly flicking through her data-link, waiting for anything from her date.

I also didn't get why Sophia jumped to dating when she's yet to be "socially adequate", then I was reminded that it was a trait that people voted for at the very beginning (I wasn't there yet to vote stuff therefore I absolve myself of responsibility :V )

With the armistice in, information security has gotten lax. But a prototype weapon shouldn't be getting caught communicating with the outside world, especially not through a commanding officer's workstation. But the person she's matched with called her cute, and that means so much more.

Oh no, I remember this part well.

I just have a hard time imagining this happen consistently and not being curious about why that is or doing anything to satisfy the curiosity, not bringing it up, not looking it up, not varying things up and doing the same thing all over again until a bystander watches you enough times to correct you. It crosses from "socially inexperienced" territory into something... less sympathetic, like "stubborn ignorance".

I'd chalk it up to her passivity and always being told what to do by someone else without questoning... but she was the one to break the security protocols back at the site, and this is something she is doing of her own accord, so I can't see it apply here.

Stubborn ignorance isn't that far off the mark, and serial dating when you are around 20 is a disaster even if you are socially lucid. The way Sophia hooks up is to go with, quite often, the first person to write her, and quickly escalate to "hey don't you want to meet in person" because she is that starved for contact in the flesh (even if she doesn't fully know what to do with it, yet). It is precisely the mix of dogged resolution to Find Companionship coupled with somewhat dim awareness of what she should be looking out for that leads her into those situations.
