"Ah, no need for that!" Her hands waved frantically before her, warding off the... it sounded male? Man's suggestion. "Just take a tentacle off an eye, and I'll do the rest. Better to have it earning us points than destroyed, right?

Oh hey, someone else with her idea! Keiko leaned over the shoulder she was standing on to look down where the voice came from. "No worries! Just..." Yikes, that girl was high up. And writing in a rather precarious position. "Make sure you don't fall off, okay? Can't use it if you're a splat on the ground!"
"No worry, 'm putting 10 in climb- climb- movey around thing." Sachi called back, beginning to scribble away at her sheet as she did. The moment she finished, she dismissed it- silently thanking whoever invented Quirks that hers didn't care about how shoddy her handwriting got- and began scurrying up and over the surface of the robot as if she'd been born to do it.

Less than a minute later, Sachi reached an access panel and- after pausing for a moment to reapply hacking to herself- wrenched it open. Within seconds she was breaking past the security and worming her way into the inner workings of the robot. 'Let's see, full shutdown, holy crap is that better protected than on the other models. Better start small, then.' Sachi thought, wincing as she navigated her way through the display, before her eyes shot open wide in alarm as a lurching motion of the robot nearly dislodged her.

"Poopy dang!" Sachi swore as she grabbed onto the robot for dear life. 'Okay, this thing moving is a problem. Legs it is.' She decided, letting go of the robot as it stopped moving and quickly suiting actions to thoughts, killing the power supply to the its legs with several hurried taps and smacks.

The examinees proceed with their battles, settling into something of a routine as they grow more used to fighting the test robots. Some are instead injured and knocked out of the running, while still others struggle to adjust their Quirk to the circumstances...

Amid the race for points, the five minute mark passes by with little fanfare. That is, until massive shadows begin to fall over each testing area...

The Arena Traps emerge. Towering over the nearby buildings of each testing site, the colossal robots step forward, sending examinees scrambling away from the paths of their rampage. They knock aside buildings, tear up streets, and make the ground tremble as though an earthquake is happening with each step. They bear no weapons - but their immense size is a weapon all its own.

Worth zero points, it would seem as though there is little point to fighting the Arena Trap. But destroying the exam's most dangerous robot may impress the teaching staff...
Alice was running, firing off blasts from her shotgun and reloading when she could. Soon enough, she found herself out of ammo- no big loss, she could still disable robots with close combat.

As she mentally tallied her kills, she came up with 46 points- more or less. Her constant movement and focus on disabling them meant she hadn't actively took stock of what exactly she had been destroying.

'Well, it's probably fine.' She thought, 'The teachers are probably watching everything we do anyway. I doubt they would trust us to accurately report our every kill truthfully.'

As she considered the matter, she turned the corner and suddenly froze upon what she saw. Digging in her feet, she created a meters-long pair of cracks in the asphalt as she forcibly arrested her momentum.

Sliding to a stop, she took in the 0-Pointer calmly.

The Arena Trap, huh? Well, she could see why they called it that. At any rate...

Raising her leg, she pivoted and began to run in the opposite direction from the machine.

'Ahh... I wish I had some SAMs...'

Simply put, there was no reason to approach the 0-Pointer, nor to try to disable it. She had no weapons that would be effective against a target of that size, and simply looking at it was enough for her to infer that it was much tougher than the others- her best attempt at doing damage would likely at most make a dent in its armor plate.

Her fellow examinees were doing likewise, and as there were no civilians in the test, she did not need to attempt to slow it down for an evacuation or backup either.

Having reached this decision shortly after seeing it, Alice fled out of its sight unnoticed.

The Arena Trap. An enormous machine that the examinees were instructed not to bother engaging. An opponent one gained no glory for fighting.

Emi wasn't sure about the rationale behind it. Adherence to rules of engagement, the reality that heroes weren't always acknowledged for their efforts, preparation for enemies whose Quirks were an effective enough counter that your own was basically useless...

From the looks of things, the other examinees were doing as they were told. She scowled. "You expect me to run?" Anyone that did so had no right to call themselves a hero.

The enemy's size was its greatest advantage. Just moving around was enough to destroy its surroundings, and its mass ensured that even those with super strength would probably just push themselves away from it with each strike rather than inflict any meaningful damage. Given the armor covering the machine's frame, ranged attacks wouldn't have much better luck.

Without just the right power, taking it head-on would be impossible.

"Then don't fight head-on," Emi said to herself.

The most thickly armored parts of a machine are those expected to take damage. Against such a thing, the proper course of action was to strike from unexpected angles, places that weren't expected to take attacks and subsequently less armored to minimize weight.

Fortunately for her, Emi was particularly suited for such tactics.

Against a tank, it would be ideal to strike from directly underneath it. Against the enormous Arena Trap, there were too many weak points to count; most easily spotted and easier to attack. Leaving her box on a rooftop at the other end of the exercise ground, she waited for it to take a step forward before making her move.

Point of vulnerability 1: Something so heavy would need the base of its legs, its 'feet', to be as wide as possible to keep its weight spread out instead of sinking into the ground.

Point of vulnerability 2: Because the ground itself would usually protect them from beneath, the bottom of the feet would be poorly armored.

Therefore, the first move should be to strike from beneath its feet. She kicked off the ground, grinning as her fist drove straight through the relatively thin metal plating. From there, she widened the hole and secured her foot against one side, the opposite edge gripped tightly enough to leave her knuckles white. She kicked, rending metal from one end of the foot to another.

Satisfied with her work, Emi returned to the ground and watched as the foot followed suit. With a chunk of its foot missing and the surface area against the ground reduced, the weight of the enormous machine was too much. The foot went further down than intended, driven into the pavement like a nail.

Point of vulnerability 3: In order to allow mobility, the joints of the machine couldn't be well armored.

Emi glanced down at the strip of steel still in her grip. One end was certainly sharp enough. The other end, she bent and shaped into a wider striking plate. In moments, she held an enormous makeshift nail. She threw the weapon like a javelin, watching with satisfaction as it flew up to the knee of the briefly immobilized leg.

The throw alone, of course, wouldn't have enough force to do any significant damage. That's why, at the moment of impact, she was there to kick it with bone-shattering force. Her weapon was driven deep into the joint, proving its effectiveness as a spray of coolant and hydraulic fluid sprayed into the air.

Satisfied with her work, Emi returned to the rooftop where she left her box, a smile on her face. With one leg effectively ruined, the Arena Trap wouldn't be able to balance itself. Sure enough, as she wiped the sweat pouring off her face against the end of her shirt, the machine came tumbling down.

"Fumikage Tokoyami. An alliance, huh...well, that is a valid strategy as well. Let's do it. Since we're running low on time, I'll spare you the details, but to break these robots I need darkness."

Tokoyami extends his hand as he speaks, looking at Estelle expectantly.
"Let'sssss get along then! Nice to be working with you, Fumikage-san!" She smiled. Gotcha~

In response to Estelle's upbeat mood, the big snake had just finished strangling a P1 robot to little bits and pieces before moving on to the next one. It slithered on the ground with as much glee a snake could mustered on its snake face, which just meant that it was opening its lower jaw to mimic a smile. A very creepy and unsettling smile.

And of course, as for Estelle herself, well, after getting Tokoyami's assistance, she ran out of the alleyway they were in and made rude gestures to any robots she came across. Surprisingly, those robots were easily offended and chased her down like a couple of policemen gunning down on a truant.

Thank goodness, she never skipped leg days, or she would have been run down by now.

Estelle narrowly evaded an attempt at hair grabbing by ducking down at the last minute as she made it safely to Tokoyami's killing nest. Phew. That one was closed. Any more centimeters and that thing would have yanked her hair. She stood up, huffing and puffing all the way, giving Tokoyami a thumb's up for his good work.

And as for all those cardboard boxes scattered throughout the testing arena. Well, she chose to ignore them, since time was ticking and she needed those points now. The other examinees can go open one or hit one for all she cared.

Meanwhile, in the background, the big snake continued to rack up more points for Estelle, throwing its weight into a 3P robot that was already weakened by a couple of students, crushing it into pieces while the onlookers looked on with dismay. She never said anything about kill-stealing so it should be fine, right? Of course, shoutings of a giant white snake stealing points alerted other examinees of another obstacle -- a goddamn kill stealer.

With its appearance known, the snake was warded off the instant anybody saw it.

It made a sad snake face to convey the feeling of disappointments and hurts. So, it slithered away into an alleyway, using the shade as an ambush spot for any lone lone robot that stumbled upon it.

Estelle cursed in the most unladylike manner possible at the sight on the ginormous metallic menace looming over the test site. Dammit! She'd just scored an excellent helper too, so why can't everything be easy?!

She was tired, her stamina about to reach its limit. All those runnings she did was starting to become evident. Her face flushed red, sweats streaming down the nape of her neck, she was starting to reek! Damn it all!

Well, at least these gym clothes were the one to take the blunt of it.

But anyway, how to deal with this thing? Of course, the simplest answer is -- don't. Just run away, since the P0 was meant to simulate natural disasters, and those can't simply be fought back by human hands.

There's no way anyone in their right mind would run to their death like that. But then again, Estelle was in a rush...

However, she was already here, running around like a headless chicken full of adrenaline, it was okay to take it on, right? And besides, she would never get the attention of That Man if she didn't make any great impression on the first day. Of course, with the shadow it casted, Tokoyami's dark falcon doppelgänger can take it on too, right?

"Hey, hey, hey, Fumikage-san, let'sssss bring that thing down. Heroesssss have to ssssstand tall in the face of danger! " She said, stooping down and touching remnants of destroyed robots, turning them into glossy and shiny white snakes. With a mental command, the big snake slithered to her location. "And sssssince we're already at this ssssstage, go big or go home!"

She knew she was going to regret this, but might as well, right? She was probably going to slither on the floor by the end of this.

Well, she could just blame this adrenaline high she was experiencing to absolve her of making any good decisions at the moment.

....Right?

A mass of snakes slithered on the cement roads, gathering in one massive pile of snakes. Coiling over one another into another big snake. But it didn't just stop there, its pearly eyes set sight upon its counterpart and rushed out to meet it. The two snakes merged to create the biggest snake anyone here laid eyes on.

A huge white snake with the width of a small car, but the length of a semi-truck.

The BIG snake coiled around itself menacingly, its reptilian eyes staring down the P0 robot. A moment passed, with only the sounds of the wind brushing against buildings to intensify the atmosphere.

With a mental nudge, the BIG snake sprang forward! Aiming right for its legs! Its goals were to immobilized and then strangle it to death!

Estelle fell down on one knee, dry heaving as she clutched her head.

Come on, just a little more....

Itsuki panted a little, eyes drooping gently. Aliyah had been relentless in her pursuit, and she'd been kind enough to bring him along, but he was nearing his limits. He wasn't the most athletic, and compounded with his power use, he was getting tired. He suddenly bent over, dry heaving, as he felt his throat constrict painfully from his harsh breathing. He swallowed roughly, and forced himself back up, waving away Aliyah's concern despite remaining hunched over a little. The box remained under his arm, supporting him slightly so he didn't fall over.

This simply wasn't acceptable for a hero. Tiredness was no excuse, and if someone was harmed because he couldn't force himself to keep going, he could never face his mother again. He lifted painfully constricted legs, and kept himself moving, mind blank, one again starting the pace. They needed more robots; he had no idea how many were necessary for them to pass, but Aliyah had been helping him move around at the cost of her own success; the least he could do was not weigh her down even more than he already had.

He looked at her weakly. "Sorry about that, just a little reflex." He offered her a watery smile, and brushed it off. "So, like I was saying, granting rotational velocity doesn't lend itself to anything other than close range combat very well, and it tends to be limited by power expenditure. These little robots are nothing much but anything bi-"

Itsuki's voice died with a harsh squeak, and he crushed the box to his chest harder. "Something like that."

This must be one of the Traps. Worth 0 points. But, he had a bad feeling, that some of the students simply wouldn't be able to resist attacking it. He turned to Aliyah, and said "Approaching that recklessly could be dangerous, and it isn't really worth bothering with. But you're the main transport." A light chuckle. "What do you think we should do?"

Itsuki and Aliyah had gotten into a good rhythm. At first, they were on edge, wary of the robots and of working around each other. On paper, extra numbers seemed like a good idea, but to two recent strangers, they had no idea of how each other worked, their habits, their reactions, etc. She worried they might overlap at best or collide at worst. Their teamwork was a little bumpy at first, like a first date, not knowing how to adjust to the uncertain factor of a new teammate, but as things progressed, their fighting got easier. The robots were mere chaff before their combined might, but what really changed was the amount of effort they had to expend against the endless tide. After the first dozen, they no longer needed to look to each other for signals. They filled in the gaps of each other's fighting style, like breaks in assault. However, Aliyah had looked over something. She had misjudged Itsuki's stamina.

Aliyah was used to the rigors of war from a young age; Physical Education in school was a joke to her. Sure, she was a little winded, but she'd been pacing herself. The young foreigner had automatically assumed Itsuki was in a similar state, but when his steps faltered, she understood. What a poor teammate she was to not notice his plight until now. The duo destroyed dozens of robots, so they should've racked up a hefty amount of points. They could afford to take a break.

He looked at her weakly. "Sorry about that, just a little reflex." He offered her a watery smile, and brushed it off.

"It's alright. I'm sorry for not noticing sooner. We can take a breather," she said. "I'm a bit out of breath myself." Aliyah took deep breaths to control her breathing as sweat trickled down the side of her temple.

@Wizard_Marshall

"I agree. I'm not sure what the purpose of the zero pointer is, but engaging it seems unnecessarily risky. Perhaps if one of our classmates were in trouble or there was some objective to protect..." Aliyah's words trailed off as she racked her mind for an answer but came up short. "For now, let's try to get a better view. The last thing I want is to get crushed between buildings without even seeing our opponent."

In consideration for Itsuki, Aliyah used her power to shrink down the roof of a small building like a step on a stairway. Rather than jog up the stairs, it would take just a few quick steps to reach the top using the adjacent buildings. "Sorry. I forgot to mention my Quirk is spatial manipulation."

Aliyah took Itsuki's shoulder as she helped him up the "stairway" and further explained her power to him. As soon as they took that first step, the building returned to its normal height, and then she worked her Quirk on the next "step."

By this point Johnathan had long since exhausted his stores of light and begun absorbing kinetic energy. By the standards of the robots he was unstoppable, except the couple of times he ran afoul of the faulty wiring. Coming into this exam he never thought he would be wishing they had made the robots less shoddily, a couple very nasty shocks when grappling with a robot changed his mind. Even the arena trap would have trouble overwhelming him in this state, but the other participants weren't so lucky. Watching them scatter and flee to avoid being crushed made it clear to him that there was only one proper course of action. Even if he couldn't defeat it, he was one of the few with a quirk able to inconvenience it, so it was his duty to do so.

Running in counter to the flow of people attempting to escape the wrath of this monster Johnathan made a point of catching whatever rubble he could with his body. The more he intercepted the harder he could hit this thing once he reached it. Whatever debris he touched just fell gently to the ground, its momentum lost to his quirk. Upon reaching his foe Johnathan grabbed its nearest leg with all his might. By maximizing contact with it he managed two goals, firstly he restricted its movement, and secondly he set it up for him to unleash a huge blast of energy directly into the leg, crippling it as the immense force made it crumple inward.
The Arena Trap is brought to a halt, catching itself on nearby buildings as it stumbles with its leg gone. Its lenses focus on Jonathan, one giant leg coming forward to kick him away.

Sachi succeeds in taking control of the P0's legs, bringing it to a halt mid-step. Seeing the P0's vulnerable state, other examinees have begun to hit it with their own Quirks, blasting away the armor. A few stray shots come near Alex's position on the robot's eyes.

@Bondo

Fumikage looks at the P0 thoughtfully. "It'll be difficult, but if we can do something about the legs...lets give it a shot."

After he finishes speaking, Fumikage lunges forward, his shadow forming into a massive claw as he begins to tear away the armor on the P0's legs, careful to avoid Estelle's snake.

Fumikage 'flexes' his shadow, his Quirk noticeably larger and bulkier in the shadow of the Arena Trap. As Estelle's snake begins to crush one of the Arena Trap's legs, he lunges forward, his shadow forming a massive claw that begins tearing away the armor on its legs.

The Arena Trap crashes into the ground, barely missing some examinees and injuring others unlucky enough to be in the way. It drags itself up on one arm, revealing shattered armor and exposed circuits all along its chassis. The head slowly swivels towards Emi, only two of its 'eyes' still functional, and begins raising its other arm slowly, reaching for Emi in an attempt to catch her in its grip.

Alex flinched as the barrage of everything on Earth, including not one, but several kitchen sinks struck uncomfortably close to his position.

Luckily, one of the attack blew a fairly large gap on the face armor, allowing the shapeshifter to flow through. From inside the P0, Alex was relatively safe from the barrage and, more importantly, got free access to all kinds of important looking wiring.

Tiny little bone blades formed across his amorphous body, and he started shredding anything shredable.

Good, it's movement was restricted, that meant anyone not able to fight the trap could easily get out of its range. Now he could focus on taking it down.

Seeing the incoming blow Johnathan moved, while he was confident in his quirk he wasn't certain it would be able to decelerate the leg coming at him quickly enough. His absorption was fast, but he'd never had reason to test its upper limits, both for sped and size of objects. So instead Johnathan plays the matador, just barely ducking out of the way of the incoming blow and then grabbing the leg from behind. However he wasn't planning on reducing its energy, instead releasing another shockwave to make the leg go further than the robot intended, hopefully knocking it further off balance and lightly damaging the leg.

Its strike dealt with Johnathan charges towards the main body, jumping and releasing another far lighter shockwave aimed inwards to aid his leap. Another thing he'd probably regret later on, as he had to let the shockwave hit him as it would anyone else to propel himself with it. It was a fairly simple trick, born of trying to figure out how to dodge Diego's occasional assault. The best part was the inevitable collision helped restore the power expended in the first place.

"oooooooooohhhh"

Hisoka could be seen above, sitting on the roof of the tallest building in the testing site, his legs dangling off the edge. He leaned forward, easily disregarding the obvious danger such a fall would represent. Without noticing, his tongue slowly poked out of his mouth, running along his lips.

"This group actually is pretty interesting. Look at all these heroes, rushing fearlessly into battle. I thought for sure they'd just run away."

The 0P was stubborn for something so weak. Emi stared at the behemoth, desperately reaching for something beyond its grasp. It would almost be admirable, if it wasn't a machine.

She dropped down to the street, starting on her way back to the gate with her box in tow. As far as she was concerned, the exercise was done.

"An' now," Sachi muttered, completely ignoring the various attacks against the 0-Pointer as her fingers flew across the computer panel, "Robo's gonna be mine!"

Matching action to words, she continued hacking it like she had her previous captures; changing the robot's programming so that instead of following its original directives? It would only answer to her.

Vellris, turning from the the severed robotic head he'd been punching for the past three minutes, turned toward the big source of sound. At this point, he was basically blind and staggering from blood loss.

With a screaming snarl, he staggered to his feet and began charging the huge source of noise... and promptly tripped and fell flat on his face, WSH fading back into his body. Vellris was out for the next few hours, and kind of in the middle of the road...
