Rage against the void, that nothingness! Let there be loudness and intensity! The default way of things may be silence, so we should inject some more violence at the start. ^_^

What's going on now is that the way the winning vote was worded, you aren't a peaceful being of "Balance" or "Equilibrium", you're a more contrarian interpretation of the same thing.

Less "coexistence" and more "mutually assured destruction". Same general concept, different symbolism.

As a result, you're looking at a lot of things which don't have an established opposing concept with which to wage "eternal war" so to speak.

So right now, you're deciding what you're going to "challenge" to first define Yourself around. As more and more contrary aspects come forward, your burden will lessen, and you'll find yourself free to do more things.

As it stands, you're hyperfocusing to prevent yourself from being torn into nothingness.

I don't know why but I like the idea of our basic being being pitted against the idea of everything we've created ending. It's poetic in a way. We are the Guardian.
At least, that's how I'm interpreting it.

What do you guys think "The End" of Eternity is? There are a few valid answers off the top of my head, but you guys obviously have something in mind.

Hm... on a first thought, I would define the end of Eternity as everything that was made being undone, returning to its original state upon before Us and our Brethren were born.
Because when nothing ever was, there can be no beginning and no end anymore; for at this moment, everything that was has ended already.

So what's likely to make everything come undone and return to that primordial state? What things are likely to cause that? How would you stop it?

Like, this is interesting to hear the perspectives people have for this tale, so I'm mostly trying to poke and prod to see where you guys are coming from.

I understand what you mean; thinking about this is interesting.
However, the premise is also not that easy to get down; I am still not sure I understood what is currently going on.

Either way, the main threat I see at the moment is whatever threatens The Dreamer, as their end will be Our downfall. When all of Creation begins to take form and become more, other such threats may appear while other means of preventing the End might as well. It is impossible to say right now, considering that Everything has merely just begun.
The first minutes have passed after Time and Space were established, and eternity has yet to come.
[Lowercase E eternity because I do not mean the concept here.]

Thanks for entertaining me! See I know what things look like for me, but this is such a peculiar tale, knowing what other people see and think is priceless as I continue writing. So I appreciate the insight!

Alright, gonna strongly suggest that all voters think/talk about what the consequences of their vote will be. Since this is a rather abstract and esoteric quest, think more in the terms of symbolism.

In the way that we can say "Your enemies define you", what does it mean to oppose X in Y way? What do you become?

I'll answer questions and comments as much as I can without spoiling anything, but I just want to make sure I chimed in before I close the vote. I'll leave it open for another 8-10 hours and close it then.

Let me see... we have the choice to either become violent or silent in the beginning; so an active force that attacks first and asks later or a calm observer that carefully maneuvers every piece at their command into a favourable position.
I am not a fan of the first approach and going by who voted for what, neither is the majority.

Hm... it would be up to someone else to describe what they exactly envision by defining themselves against Flickers. Maybe I should go back and read what those actually were, though.

Against the Wounds does sound also viable, considering it would probably make us a counterforce to these entities that are capable of harming even Us and our Brethren.

Again, no idea what we would become by defining ourselves against the Void. Maybe an entity that creates?


As for defining outselves against the End, I believe this will give us a set of abilities meant to work against whatever threatens Our creations; maybe it would even include something against Wounds... if I remember correctly, those are threatening the Dreamer as well.
All in all, this would probably come with a more broad set of abilities, but also be more versatile than Flickers and Wounds. No idea about how it correlates to the void.

Just finished watching Spiderman, mildly agitated that I can't appropriate any of the ideas in there for this Quest annnnnnnd, vote is locked.

Reasoning: While I would like a gentler god type...the creation of the universe, as pointed out, is indeed not a quiet one. it's full of explosions and things smashing into each other.

reasoning: well,if you're going to be violent...then it would go hand in hand with opposing creation by being destructive..

Defining the self again the siblings, I would have chosen both to be metaphysical instead of going by form. You become the timeless and the void, in my mind anyways, and its easier for me to understand how it'd work.

and yet!

why? because while I imagine us to be timeless by going against time's metaphysical stuff...against infinity, flickers look the coolest in my mind and are of course...just, very very brief instances.

Define ourselves against the dreamer? So like...what we look like to the mortal mind? I might like us to be an ever swirling ball of black and white...or Ganesh. Ganesh is always good. Why? Because elephant.
