Not Necessarily a Spider (Spider-Man/Marvel)

[X] Plan Magical Girls
-[x] Penny May Parker
-[X] Cat Statuette
-[X] Dr. Stephen Strange
-[x] Kitty Pryde
-[X] Jessica Jones

Female protagonist
Cat statue (sounds magical)
Dr. Strange to teach magic
and two female friends. Kitty Pryde (mutant power to move through solid matter) and Jessica Jones (eventually exposed to radioactive stuff in a tragic accident that gives her superpowers).

With knowledge of magic, we could potentially form a decent superhero team on our own or act like a trio of modern day witches or whatever. I mean, we don't necessarily have to start a coven or anything (and I'm not sure if Dr. Strange would let us do that) but if you have verifiable access to teachable reality altering magic, it makes sense to get in the habit of teaching that knowledge to close allies.

Also, considering that Kitty Pryde is already a mutant with the power to phase through walls, if the other two of us can get access to some sort of phasing magic that lets us replicate the feat, we could make Kitty seem more 'ordinary' by comparison. After all, if humans can get access to the same sorts of powers through training that mutants get, that just means that humans and mutants aren't so different.

A case for Dr. Parker (@Barondoctor) :

I'll be going over each of the choices and pointing out the flaw's/strength of each. I have highlighted the choice attached to the Dr. Parker Plan:

Gender
Peter vs. Penny: This is probably the most crucial as it relates to personality yet most based upon opinion vote. Whether going male or female, it will effect our personality and the ways in which others view us. I personally think that a Peter Parker is a more interesting character. A female version of the character just doesn't flow as well in my opinion and would rather choose to be Gwen if we were choosing between sexes. (Spider gwen quest please!)

Mystery Box:
[] Old Camera: This leads to a job at the Bugle according to GM.
[] Cat Statuette: Probably something to do with Black Cat or other mystical stats.

I'm guessing the Briefcases relate heavily to our parents background. Here is the following.
[] High-Tech Briefcase: GM stated that this is attached to a high tech spidey. Maybe attached to a scientific father/mother.
[] Regular Briefcase: I'm guessing the briefcases relate heavily to maybe an regular parents.
[] Electronic Lockbox: This has the highest chance of being related to the Spy background of mom and dad. This gives us an in with SHIELD potentially and more Avenger's related storylines. I always loved the connection of Peter's mom and dad being SHIELD agents in those storylines. Your mileage may very.

Mentor:
Our Powers. So this is the most crucial vote as it relates to our abilities and strengthens.
[] Dr. Hank McCoy: Beast. The Xman. This will definitely give us an in with the X-men and Xavier. Probably results in a mutant peter and powers from that.
[] Dr. Bruce Banner: The Hulk. This is probably my least favorite choice due to the chance of us becoming another Hulk. Peter doesn't really have anger issues and it just doesn't mesh well.
[] Tony Stark: Your typical iron-spider storyline I imagine. Gonna learn how to make an iron-man suit and such.
[] Norman Osborn: This could be interesting and result in more of an anti-hero Goblin peter. If not for the inclusion of Dr. Strange I'd have gone with this one.
[] Dr. Stephen Strange: Magic. What more can be said. I am voting for this one simply because it offers a different look at Peter. As the GM mentioned, there have been mystical storylines with peter, but there is a difference between mystical and magical. Working with Dr. Strange means that we are actually learning magic. Its the difference between being a Cleric empowered by divine beings (spider totem) and being a Wizard (Sorceror Supreme). Peter is an incredibly intelligent character and I hope we get to go deep into the magical aspects of it. I'd imagine it would offer a different, more cerebral take on the character.
[] Dr. Hank Pym: This one would probably be similar to Tony Stark, only as an antman type character.

Actually have to head to datenight with GF, so I'll touch on the friends section later.

Edit: @Rossum I like it, but any chance peter could be male? We already have one solid female plan that is developing.

Hm. Going to tag everyone voting for both leading Peter plans.

Unconventional Arachnid:
@Gunman @Ghostdevil @gman391 @Deliriousdoodle
Dr. Parker:
@ComiTurtle @Dead-Not @Rossum @Arthellion @Birdsie

Both plans choose Peter, Electronic Lockbox, and Kitty Pryde.
Mine is different in choosing Hank McCoy and Flash Thompson.
Dr. Parker chooses Stephen Strange and Jessica Jones.

@ComiTurtle has said Jessica Jones is the only iron-clad no-change.

I'd be willing to swap the likely-mentor from Hank to Strange.
I'd really like to have Flash as one of the friends...but Kitty is the commonality between the plans.

Honestly, I'm perfectly willing to throw myself behind Plan Dr. Parker 100%.

Alternatively, I'd be willing to swap Flash or Kitty for Jessica.

But I'd be lying if I said that Dr. Parker isn't interesting wholesale, even if I'd like a little gender diversity in the friend selection (and I also want to see what happens if Flash Thompson is a friend from the start).

For others voting for Peter Parker plans, what makes either one of the leading plans a no-sell for you?

I don't want to reveal to much about the mystery boxes, obviously they're supposed to be mysteries, but in the interest of preventing voter regret, I have to say that you're off track with you assumptions about the lockbox. It won't lead to spy parents.

@KnightDisciple
Peter Benjamin Parker
Hank McCoy
Kitty Pryde

are pretty much the ones I want most would prefer Flash over another girl for uniqueness, not fussed too much on the keepsake

Not closing the votes yet but just tallying votes to see if that shakes things up a little. Something I should note is that @verynew and @Hex123 have the same plan, they've just named it different things.

So Pym Particles are cool and all but do we really want to Hank Pym to be our mentor? He's not the best human.

So Pym Particles are cool and all but do we really want to Hank Pym to be our mentor? He's not the best human.
616 Pym is a troubled and imperfect man, but keep in mind he's not a "wife beater"; the incident in question was ultimately the result of a miscommunication between artist and writer, and has plagued the character ever since.

With that said...I'm consolidating my vote to

[X] Plan Dr. Parker

@Gunman @gman391 @Ghostdevil @Deliriousdoodle I would encourage but not demand you do the same.
