No Heaven of Mine - A Fallen Angel Quest

[X] The Celestial Firmament, in the Northern War against the Intruders.

famalam my dude, don't you want to see an angel who is yandere for cthulhu-kun and dagon-senpai?

Honestly the Primordial seem the closer to Cthulhu and co, ancient, dangerous, different powers that once ruled and seek to return to glory.

The Intruders are from what I have seen Cosmic Xenomorphs driven by hunger and the basest of instincts. They want to nom/infect the universe and if they succeed there won't be anything left.

We can talk to others within those factions, guide the grand war a specific way with them. But ultimately the Intruders are going to consume the universe.

I do think this is a good point (even as I vote for the Intruders). I'm actually sort of ambivalent between the Infernals and the Intruders, and my love of cosmic horror aesthetics is basically what won the day.

We'll see. There may be more to the story on the intruders than just that blurb indicates.

Glad you like my perspective.

Honestly I don't see why there would be more to the Intruders motivations that what the blurb provided. The intro gives a clear picture of what each Enemy is and what they will do to the universe if they topple Heaven.

The intruders by all accounts are a swarm of cosmic locusts with no desire beyond consumption and reproduction. Hunger there driving trait.

Now this doesn't mean that everyone on the intruders side is a Xenomorph wearing a flesh mask, I'm sure we can talk to others who have been touched and changed by the Intruders, those who haven't lost themselves completely. Gargulec is an amazing writer and I'm sure the story will be great no matter what path we choose.

But I hope that voters will really look at the options and consider the long term goals of what faction we are corrupted by before making a choice.

Please note - this is very important for the story that I seek to tell - that while the choice of your corruption is not one that can be walked away from easily (if at all), it is nonetheless not a choice of doom. The possibility that you manage to break your fall and stop the corrupting influence is always there and is one of the main possible branches this quest can take, next to fully embracing what ails you.

you had this angel right and she goes yandere for cthulhu and she falls because she thinks nyarlathothep is the ideal husbando and her husbando is a shit so heaven exiles her because she has fucking shit taste

Well since Intruders is leading and this is one of the only character concept's/ideas that has been put forward lets flesh it out somewhat.

Since the Intruders are parasitic infections and consumers, mystic Xenomorphs, then using the provided by ManusDomine framework the protagonist Fallen likely because entralled by the beauty only she could see in the monsters.

The glisten of chitin, the curve of bladed limbs as they tore her kin apart. Maybe over the course of a campaign she noticed one member of the swarm above others and was drawn to it. Until she got to close and was infect/accepted infection out of a desire to be closer to the purity of purpose embodied in such a perfect organism.

I'm suffering from 'melancholy' right now.

It is what it is. And so it will be.

These are the Latter Days of the Law. The world is a shadow of what it was. The joy we know is not the joy we once knew. The sorrow we know is not the sorrow we once knew. The true passions have passed from the world. All that remains are their pale echoes; and we hold up those echoes and, not knowing history, say, "These are all the truths of the heart that there have ever been."

"Everything is more beautiful because we are doomed. You will never be lovelier than you are now. We will never be here again."
― Homer, The Iliad
"Against one perfect moment, the centuries beat in vain."
― Terry Pratchett, Thief of Time

Hold on one moment. Think about that. The world is on a downward track. Entropy's cruel law compels even the order of Heaven to decay. Every step in the dance brings one closer to the end of the song. To move is to die. To change is to die. To live is to die.

What's done cannot be undone.

Hold that pose. For a moment. One, perfect, moment. Know that to let go is to make the next moment ever so slightly less perfect. And the next. Until it would be impossible to believe in the idea of a perfect moment at all.

Hold on one moment. And never let go.

weird way to prefix your new bleach hollow quest garg but i like it

let's become death lords and make a mockery of everything we stood for while making vaguely rationalist philosophical ramblings that seem smart on first glance but are actually nonsensical as we do so

Changing vote to this. The value - and cost - of freedom is kind of a thematically interest and I'd be remiss if I didn't try to make use of that.
